China is pushing to decarbonize its steel industry by shifting to green technologies like electric arc furnaces. As China reduces its reliance on Australian metallurgical coal and traditional iron ore (hematite) for steel production, Australia's key exports are at risk.

To adapt, Australia must invest in green iron processing and hydrogen to align with China's new supply chains.

@xyhhx China has a concrete plan for making the transition, and short term use of fossil fuels is in line with that.

legend of the galactic heroes
it is very good. phezzan is an independent planet astride a strategically important corridor that likes playing both sides of a galactic war off each other, staging false flag attacks to instigate conflict, and making fat stacks of cash off tolls. they secretly follow a cult that says they are the chosen people who will lead the galaxy and rule over the lesser gentiles elsewhere

Northern Arizona resident dies from plague

Plague is a bacterial infection known for killing tens of millions in 14th century Europe.

There are two other forms: septicemic plague that spreads through the whole body, and pneumonic plague that infects the lungs.

Pneumonic plague is the most deadly and easiest to spread.

Today, it’s easily treated with antibiotics, but RFK is going with herd immunity on this one too.

Attempting a slow transition away from Spotify to Apple Music, and it still surprises me how terrible Apple is at making software that gives the user any kind of agency or depth of utility.

You would think, if a song was playing, and you liked that song, there might be a way, in the menu, to "Go to Artist" or "Go to Album", but nah, you have to go to the search screen and type it in yourself and then search.

I would be extremely appreciative of anyone who wants to tell me I'm an idiot and I've missed something.

I dreamed last night about all the people I've lost, who've left me, one after the other, and woke up thinking: I need to contact them. I reached out to them before to see about working things out, but I should do it again, now.

And I rolled over and started writing to one...and hit a roadblock, because I couldn't think of a reason that I should actually trust these people again. If someone is so cold and so cowardly, or just hates me so much, that they ditch me forever without a single word over some petty bullshit, why on earth should I want that person in my life?

Do your best to keep your friends — it's hard to make them as an adult — but if some spineless, deceitful worm leaves you, as much as it hurts, you're better off without them.

I've got my issues, for certain, but three things you can be sure of when dealing with me: I will never lie to you, I will never intentionally leave you in the dust, and I will never back down when you need me. To some people, these are negative traits, and this says a lot about them.

alright i have finished order of eclesia and i gotta say

man, they desserved way better, that has to be the actual most depresing ending in the entire castlevania series

you know you kinda get used to seeing the protagonist along with his friends outside as draculas castle collapses but seeing shanoa, all alone with no words spoken completes that bittersweet feeling to the ending

great excecution now im sad

in reply to salty "CunnyConnoisseur" apollyon

anyways luckily the game was challenging enough that it distracted me from how bleak everything was almost how it feels to be in an adrenaline rush i didn't stop until i got rid of dracula and only then it hit me

from beginning to end it was fun cept for the fucking large cavern, fuck that place
can't say im a full fan of the areas being segmented as sort of stages and i can say the part i enjoyed the most was the entirety of draculas castle

the glyph system was great, like being able to alternate between two weapons/spells in real time and make combos with them from a combat point of view i think OoE has the best combat in the series

speaking of combat the balance was fine most of the game with only some 1 area and 2 bosses making me say "oh that damage is bullshit"

music wise goddamn i fucking loved the soundtrack it's full of bangers and action packed songs and with that very castlevania like feel

i'd deffinitely rank it above dawn of sorrow

I'm once again looking for a new #Tabletop group!

I prefer systems and stories with emphasis on roleplay and player input, particularly Powered by the Apocalypse-based systems. More than happy to GM as well.

I've created my own systems, the most developed and successful of which is a setting that takes Dungeons and Dragons to its natural conclusion: the "good" races are victorious against the races of "evil" and have now become the colonizers of the kobolds, trolls, ogres, gnolls, and so forth — which the players now play as in this new world that sees them as nothing but monsters. I call it People, Too and the PDF of the core book is attached.

If you're interested in playing this, or anything else with me, send a reply or a PM!

@dever It's not like you need smart meters to do this. In the early 2000's I was running an ISP out of my basement using 64-port terminal servers and discrete modems. The total power draw was around 7kw. I had the Windows blacked out and boarded over because I didn't want anyone stealing my equipment. The cops come one day, without a search warrant, and claim someone called from the basement claiming they were being held hostage and they had to see. If that isn't the largest load of horse manure there ever was. But the truth is the power company had reported my electric usage, they did the math and figured oh 4 or 5 metal-halide lamps growing pot, what a disappointment it had to be to them to see it's just a bunch of computer equipment. The Forth Amendment isn't worth the paper it was written on when there all the cops have to do is make up a bullshit story.
