Got wifi setup at new home, weirdly for laptops sitting side-by-side, one is showing 212Mbps on speedtest while the other is showing 80-90Mbps. I don't have any VPN active so not sure why the gap.
@dunderhead, depending on the net driver from the laptop and the speed it admits. My old laptop had max 200 Mbs while the new as >600Mbs. (Router WiFi v7), The new Laptop can use it, the old one not.
@epp @Catweazle wifi 5 ghz is faster but has shorter range where it is usable 2.4 ghz has longer range. I googled this awhile ago and that's what I found.
