In May 1999, Diff’rent Strokes star Dana Plato appeared on The Howard Stern Show. She was raw, emotional, and clearly struggling, trying to claw her way back from years of addiction, poverty, and tabloid ridicule. She told Stern she was sober and doing her best. She even brought her fiancé on the air for support.
What did Stern do?
He mocked her.
He let callers humiliate her live on the air. He said he didn’t believe she was sober. He pushed her to take a drug test during the show. She played along at first — maybe trying to show she could take a joke. Maybe trying to save face. But after the segment, she quietly asked for the hair sample back. Stern’s team refused.
The very next day, Dana Plato was dead. Overdose. Ruled a suicide.
And it doesn’t end there. Eleven years later, her son Tyler Lambert, just 25 years old, took his own life too. Same week as the anniversary of his mother’s death.
This is what happens when you treat real pain as entertainment.
Stern didn’t kill Dana Plato. But he kicked her while she was down, on one of the most humiliating public stages imaginable. He took a vulnerable, broken woman and made her pain into a performance. Because it got laughs. Because it got ratings.
That’s the real Howard Stern. Not the “brave” liberal voice of reason he pretends to be today.
He built his empire mocking the disabled, shaming addicts, degrading women, and gleefully punching down.
He wasn’t edgy. He was cruel.

I think I have a design for a fine particle grinder.
Small particles can't be ground effectively in a blade mill (coffee grinder) or a ball mill (rock tumbler), they reach a size that there are so many of them that the balls are cushioned by the sheer number of them, and blades can't strike them hard enough to split them any further.
So what do you do if you want them smaller?
In industry, they use a jet mill which is basically a sand blaster, except the media is meant to be ground down rather than the thing you're blasting against. The problem with a jet mill is the particles you're grinding are smoke particle size and smaller, so you need really effective cyclone separation to avoid just losing the particles out the exhaust air! And that makes these machines quite expensive.
For small batch very fine particle grinding, I think it can be done as follows: Epoxy an ultrasonic transducer to a steel plate with some bolt holes, bolt this to a lexan spacer 3mm thick. This spacer has a center area milled out which is where the grinding will happen. bolt a 10mm thick lexan cover over the spacer, in the middle of this cover you heat-press a concave sapphire watch glass into the lexan. Particles from the steel plate are thrown up against the sapphire and because the sapphire is concave, they are bounced back toward the middle of the work area. The spacer has input and output holes that can be used to feed and remove dust from grinding.
The apparatus is run with vacuum inside, so that the particles can get up to high speed. Sapphire is one of the hardest materials in existence so (unless you're trying to grind diamond) it will break up almost any particle.
The whole design is relatively cheap and DIY friendly, and if it works well, I think it should be possible to make nano scale particles with enough time grinding.

It’s a video showing the devastation of Gaza that Netanyahu didn’t want the world to see. It’s calling for accountability of the actions of his government. I even wrote:

They have literally dug up my all profile to find a post from last year where I discussed Israel’s ethno-religious claims because they couldn’t find anything else to frame me. These levels of harassment, doxxing and tenacity honestly make me feel unsafe.
For context, my criticism of Israel as a homogenous ethno-religious State comes from a very well-documented academic discussion known as Israel’s trilemma.
It’s also been mentioned several times on The Economist (source 1, source 2).
It boils down to a simple observation: Israel must decide whether it wants to be an ethnically heterogeneous democratic State, a homogeneous ethno-religious democratic State achieved through a two-State solution, or a homogeneous ethno-religious single State achieved through the means of Apartheid, genocide and forced displacement.
Forcing a Jewish electoral majority can be possible only by either acknowledging a two-State solution (see previous point), or an Apartheid State.
Controlling all the occupied lands means either accepting a Jewish-Arab binational State, or an Apartheid State.
Israel must choose a side on this triangle.
My rejection of Israel as a homogenous ethno-religious State that doesn’t acknowledge the rights of its ethno-religious minorities and neighbours comes from the fact that I would refuse to consider such a State a democracy, and I would have all the right of treating it as a pariah and a rogue country like North Korea or South Africa during the times of its Apartheid.
Of course, all these nuances get lost, all the academic sources are often accused of being antisemitic too (including the NYT and The Economist I guess at this point), and every criticism of their crimes and contradictions gets the same levels of ostracism that I have seen in cults.
I made similar observations to those that scholars made when analyzing the South African Apartheid. I demand the freedom to talk about these topics using the same academic framework without being harassed.

This is mainly the work of Matthias J. Becker, a postdoc researcher at the Center for Research on Antisemitism.
Given the amount of publicity given to that text on the user’s timeline, and even in their own bio, I have reasonable grounds to believe that they are either the author/editor of that book or someone closely related to them.
The details I’ve grabbed about him and his work are honestly chilling when looked in their entirety:
His research lies within the disciplines of (pragma)linguistics, research on prejudice, and internet studies and focuses on the construction of implicit hate speech.
In his postdoc project, he examines various forms of antisemitic and racist hate speech on British news websites in the context of Brexit.
And his public lecture also includes screenshots taken around social media to build the case for antisemitism.
Note that in those slides you won’t find only traditional caricatures of Jews or shameful Holocaust denial as evidence of antisemitism (it’s definitely right to condemn these as the acts of hate and prejudice that they are).
But also memes that condemn the genocide in Gaza, the unaccountability of Israel guaranteed by the US, or “Stop calling it a conflict, it’s a genocide” images.
Basically that guy is grabbing social media content posted by any users that he considers antisemitic, takes screenshots, and adds them as evidence of antisemitism in his books, lectures and research.
And is trying to blur the boundaries and expand the definition of antisemitism.
So my first crucial question to the staff of mastodon.social is:
Are you aware that there are State-sponsored accounts on your platform that harass your users, publish screenshots of their conversations in their lectures and books, and probably feed their posts to language models without their consent, and without any legal basis, and this has been going on for YEARS? Are you ok with it? Have you at least run internal investigations to justify their operations? Will my posts or Aral’s also go in their corpora of evidence of antisemitism? Can you guarantee that it won’t be the case? Can you guarantee that the authors of the content won’t end up in one of the arbitrary lists of “hostile people” regularly redacted by Israel? Because in the past you have put permanent bans for much less than this. And if you can’t guarantee that then it should probably OTHER INSTANCES TO DEFEDERATE mastodon.social, because of threat it poses to the privacy of their users and the usage of their data, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND
My second point is more subtle and academic, but it’s even more dangerous than the privacy issue.
And it’s about the gradual extension of the boundaries of antisemitism through pseudo-academism that is not rooted in actual academic discourse, but on the random book of a postdoc researcher cited as if it was the apex of scientific consensus in the field.
We all agree that denying the Holocaust, posting apologies of Nazism or depicting Jews as greedy is deeply antisemitic and deserves condemnation.
But what about calling what’s happening in Gaza a genocide?
What about digging the most controversial passages of their sacred texts exploited by far-right rabbis to justify their claims over the whole land and look at them from a modern perspective?
What about questioning the good faith of those behind the Holocaust foundations?
What about putting Israel’s trilemma under their nose and ask them how they are supposed to solve it - and that no, throwing bombs all around while they figure out a solution is not an acceptable solution?
What about asking them to repeal the Law of Return, because it’s basically ethno-religious colonialism achieved through displacement of local populations?
What about asking them why they keep expanding their illegal settlements in the West Bank and squatting people out of their houses?
What about putting under their nose that commemorating the Holocaust while manufacturing a new one is, at the very least, incoherent?
What about putting under their nose that the most vocal supporters of the current genocide are parties like Otzma Yehudit in their cabinet, which are just the descendants of the outlawed Kach party, led by Meir Kahane, a man arrested 60 times in his life, considered a terrorist by the US, the USSR and Israel itself, whose infamous They must go pamphlet (written in one of his regular stays in a jail) has been rightfully been compared to Mein Kampf when it comes to the tone and the conclusions - and not by me, but by Jewish cultural associations? And that his leader Ben-Gvir himself has been listed as persona non grata in many countries? Can we point out the incoherence of accusing Hamas of terrorism while hosting terrorists in their own cabinet?
Can we say that Kahane and his political heirs are rotten fascists to the core without being called antisemitic, just like I can say that the government of Meloni in Italy is a direct heir of fascism without being called anti-Italian?
What about comparing what they are doing to the Arab population today to what other regimes have done to other minorities in the past to get the right perspective?
What about criticizing their continued rejection of recognizing the authority of international institutions like the UN?
Can we have honest conversations around these themes without our posts ending up in the slides of this guy as evidence of antisemitism whose definition he has manufactured in his own book out of thin air?
If not, can we admit that Israel is simply trying to forge an iron dome around itself that makes it immune from any form of scrutiny that any democratic country should be subject to, and it’s trying to do so by manufacturing a false sense of academic consensus on the basis of what a random researcher reads on the Web and thinks that it’s antisemitic? And unaccountability is basically the foundation of fascism - but if we dare to say that the current political leadership is fascist we’re also accused of antisemitism. And just because the book of this guy has a whole chapter on why “Israel has a fascist government” is supposed to be an act of antisemitism. It’s basically like an invincibility glitch - whatever you say against the chosen people of god, it’s you the one who’s wrong.

Here’s the thing: antisemitism is a very real thing and, sadly, there are people who hate Jewish people for no other reason than the fact that they’re Jewish.
What’s terrible about Israel and Zionists weaponising antisemitism – by equating it with being anti-genocide and anti-Zionism to stifle criticism of the genocide they are committing in Palestine – is that it dilutes the semantics of the word, understandably leading to the sort of sentiment you just expressed and making Jews everywhere less safe.
Israel’s willful conflation of Jewishness with Zionism and support of its policies and the ongoing genocide is also one of the most most antisemitic things I can think of. Imagine equating a people (Jews) with being pro-genocide. I've had a lengthy conversation with someone about the suffering in Gaza and we agreed until, out of nowhere, they hit me with "and they get away with it because the jews control the banks, the media and the governments" (backed up by the hard evidence that they had seen some photos on facebook of western politicians wearing a kippah)

Antisemitism exists, people who hate Jews just because they are Jews exist, and people who deny the Holocaust still exist. And I stand strongly against them like I stand against that just like I stand against any form of prejudice.
However there’s also an abuse of the word as a way to silence dissent against the most hardcore politics of the Zionist movement, justify their current genocidal plans and get unaccountability for free with the use of a few scarewords - just like “Commie” in the US in the 1960s.
And I firmly stand against that too, like I stand against any form of intimidation finalized to neutralize criticism - because that’s just the textbook definition of fascism.
I would have never thought that things would have been so hard to grasp at both the ends of the spectrum, but apparently they are…
