ESA astronaut Raphaël Liégeois from Belgium, a member of the ESA Astronaut Class of 2022, was selected in November 2022 from over 22,500 candidates who applied to ESA’s 2021 call for new astronauts.

He began his year-long basic astronaut training at ESA’s European Astronaut Centre (EAC) in Cologne, Germany, in April 2023. This training covered spacecraft systems, spacewalking, flight engineering, robotics, life support systems, survival, and medical training. Raphaël received his astronaut certification alongside fellow astronaut candidates Sophie Adenot, Rosemary Coogan, Pablo Álvarez Fernández, and Marco Sieber at EAC on 22 April 2024, officially marking his transition into a fully-fledged astronaut.

In June 2024, Raphaël was announced for his first spaceflight mission, currently scheduled for 2026 to the International Space Station. After completing his pre-assignment training, he is now in mission-specific preparation, focusing on the tasks and experiments he will perform during his stay on the Space Station.

Dans un discours devant un auditoire du Parti des travailleurs à Brasilia, le président brésilien a accusé Washington de #chantage économique et s'est engagé à défendre la souveraineté nationale. Donald Trump menace le Brésil de droits de douane de 50 %, en plus de 10 % supplémentaires imposés aux membres du BRICS.

Le président brésilien Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva a accusé les #États-Unis d'avoir « aidé à fomenter un coup d'État » au #Brésil et a condamné ce qu'il a qualifié de tentative de #Washington de faire usage de la pression politique pour imposer des sanctions économiques à son pays.

S'exprimant lors d'un rassemblement du Parti des travailleurs à Brasilia le 3 août, Lula a averti que le Brésil n'accepterait pas de traitement injuste et qu’il était prêt à défendre ses intérêts sur la scène internationale.

Lula contre l’ingérence américaine

« Tenter d'utiliser une question politique pour nous sanctionner économiquement est inacceptable », a déclaré Lula, faisant référence aux récentes menaces américaines d'imposer des #droits de douane de 50 % sur les #exportations brésiliennes.

« Je n'oublierai pas qu'ils ont déjà contribué à un coup d'État ici », a ajouté Lula, sans préciser s'il faisait référence à l'opération Brother Sam en 1964, à la destitution de l'ancienne présidente Dilma Rousseff en 2016 ou à la récente tentative de l'ancien président Jair Bolsonaro d'annuler les résultats des élections de 2022.

Le président américain Donald #Trump a justifié la menace de droits de douane par ce qu'il a qualifié de « chasse aux sorcières » contre le « très respecté » Bolsonaro, accusé d'avoir tenté un coup d'État pour se maintenir au pouvoir. Washington a également sanctionné le juge de la Cour suprême, Alexandre de Moraes, qui supervise une enquête sur le complot présumé.

Le Brésil prône le multilatéralisme

Lula a souligné que le Brésil n'était plus économiquement dépendant des États-Unis, invoquant l’expansion des liens commerciaux mondiaux et des fondamentaux nationaux plus solides. Il a également réaffirmé ses efforts pour trouver une alternative au dollar américain dans le commerce international.

« Ils veulent mettre fin au #multilatéralisme […]. Ils veulent revenir à des accords internationaux où les grands dominent les petits », a déclaré Lula. « Autrement dit, un petit pays qui négocie avec les États-Unis est comme un ouvrier d'usine comptant 80 000 collègues, qui négocie seul avec son patron. L'accord est déséquilibré ; vous n'y gagnerez rien », a-t-il ajouté.

« Nous avons la taille, nous avons une position dominante, nous avons des intérêts stratégiques et économiques… Nous voulons négocier, mais nous voulons négocier sur un pied d'égalité », a souligné le président brésilien.

Les #BRICS dans le collimateur

Avec un tarif de 50 %, le Brésil serait confronté aux droits de douane américains les plus élevés au monde. Par ailleurs, Trump a déjà menacé d'imposer des droits de douane supplémentaires de 10 % aux membres des BRICS, les accusant de tenter de « détruire le dollar comme norme mondiale ».

Le Brésil est l'un des membres fondateurs des BRICS, formés en 2006 avec la Russie, l'Inde et la Chine. Le bloc s'est depuis élargi avec l’adhésion de l'Afrique du Sud, de l'Égypte, de l'Iran, de l'Éthiopie, des Émirats arabes unis et de l'Indonésie. Ses dirigeants ont toujours affirmé qu'ils n'avaient aucune intention d'affaiblir le dollar, indiquant que Washington lui-même le fragilise par des abus politiques.

There are numerous federated services available, we offer Macrobloging platform Friendica, Hubzilla; Microbloging services Mastodon, Misskey, a federated search engine, Yacy, and a federated cloud service, Nextcloud.

Macrobloging services are message systems that allow long form posts similar in format to Facebook. These allow for works of fiction, poetry, technical papers, news items, short stories, and more. These formats are most useful for discussion of social issues.

Microbloging services allow only short form posts similar in format to Twitter. While you can link to larger articles elsewhere, you have a relatively short character limit and so can not post them directly.

Censorship, is handled much different on the fediverse than on mainstream media like Twitter or Facebook. On the fediverse, each individual instance is responsible for content available on that instance, but does not censor the rest of the network. Thus if you find the rules of one instance too constraining you can move to another.

Federated search engines are analogous to federated message systems in that each instance chooses what portion of the internet it wants to crawl. When you enter a search term, the local instance queries all of the federated instances, collates and sorts the results and presents them to you. Friendica is a decentralized long format macrobloging message network. It is similar in format to facebook however there is no centralized censorship. Also, it is able to federate with all other federated message systems which use ActivityPub protocol and also we have extensions that allow it to speak to several other networks via other protocols.

Hubzilla.Eskimo.Com
Hubzilla is similar in message format to Friendica in that it allows long posts. However, it specializes in it’s ability to provide connectivity to multiple protocols and so we include it in our mix of federated services primarily for the better connectivity it offers. Hubzilla provides a great deal of interoperability between many networks though ActivityPub is still it’s prim
ary protocol. Hubzilla gives you a greater degree of control over privacy than some of the other networks. You can create private channels that are served between hubzilla instances and other compatible instances.

Mastodon.Eskimo.Com
Mastodon is first and foremost an alternative to Twitter. While Twitter has Tweets, Mastodon has Toots. The format is very similar. Mastodon toots have a limit of 500 characters. Similar to the short limit of Twitter. This is why this platform is referred to as a Microbloging format. Mastodon interacts with other ActivityPub instances however when a long form blog post from another i
nstance arrives, you are only shown a short portion with a link to follow to see the full post on the originating site.

Nextcloud If you are a customer of Eskimo North, your login credentials will work without a domain extension to access Nextcloud. If you are not a customer you can apply for a Nextcloud account using your choice of login and password, in this case the login should include your originating network. Some features require an Eskimo North shell account to take full advantage of.

Pixelfed.Eskimo.Com
Pixelfed is a federated pixel gallery. A place where you can share your photos to the widest audience possible, and you can view what others have shared. We now have this site also properly federated so any images you share can be viewed on any other Fediverse site by users who follow you, and you can view images posted by anyone on any fediverse site whom you follow.


Yacy.Eskimo.Com
Yacy is a federated search engine. There are several thousand instances on the Internet. Each instances crawls whatever portion of the web the administrator requested. It is also possible for the administrator of a site with relatively few resources to request a larger site to do crawls on their behalf. Unfortunately, it does not provide a method for an end user to initiate a crawl,
but if you send e-mail to support@eskimo.com and request a crawl, we will initiate a crawl on your behalf.

DropSiteNews berichtete letzte Nacht über eine aktuelle Recherche von des israelischen Channel 13 über die Protokolle der entscheidenden Gespräche in der Israelischen Regierung Anfang März.

Man war sich einig, darüber, dass Hamas sich an den 'Waffenstillstand' gehalten habe. Hatte eigentlich erwartet dass die Gespräche scheitern.

Während der für die Geiseln zuständige General sowie der Chef des Shin Bet dafür waren, in Verhandlungen für Phase B einzustreten um die israelischen Geiseln frei zu bekommen, wollten die anderen Minister der Regierung dies definitiv nicht.

Warum? Sie beschrieben klar, dass das wichtigste Ziel für sie ist den Krieg fortzusetzen. Der Chef des Shin Bet meinte, dass man auch dann weiter Krieg führen könnte, wenn die Geiseln erst alle frei wären. Nach Phase B.

ist halt wichtiger zu erhalten, dass unter jedem Bild von einem verhungernden Kind etc irgendein deutscher Volltrottel "Ja dann sollen sie halt die Geiseln freilassen" schreibt. So sind die halt wertvoller für Israel als wenn sie frei sind. Ein faschistisches System interessiert keine Menschenleben, auch nicht die der eigenen, nicht mal wenns taktisch klug wäre. Der Faschismus kann nur töten, nonstop, der hört von allein nicht auf.
