WATCH: 500-Year-Old Torah Scroll Discovered in Assad’s Palace | United with Israel

unitedwithisrael.org/500-year-…

The collapse of the Assad regime has led to extraordinary revelations, including the recent discovery of a 500-year-old Torah scroll hidden in the basements of Bashar Al Assad’s palace.

This ancient artifact is seen as a testament to Syria’s once-thriving Jewish community.

The discovery has sparked renewed calls for Syria to return not only the Torah ...

The EVILution of Communism Workshop, Session 4
Communism is a religious view that has evolved and adapted over the last two centuries, including right up to the present day. Understanding the developments and threats in our present world requires understanding what Communism really is, especially in its Marxist variants, and how it has developed and changed over the years. In response to this need, James Lindsay of New Discourses held a four-lecture workshop series on the EVILution of Communism in Dallas, Texas, at the start of August 2024.
In this fourth and final lecture in the series, Lindsay picks up the loose threads from the previous two lectures and weaves them together to describe a new Communism for the twenty-first century, a “Communism 3.0” or “Twenty-first Century Communism.” Lindsay characterizes this new model of Communism as the “Chinese model,” derived from the practical implementation by former CCP leader Deng Xiaoping in the People’s Republic of China, where it was tested first. Meanwhile, in the West, a parallel model was developed tracking not just with Deng Xiaoping Theory but also with the Western Marxist sensibilities of Herbert Marcuse, demanding a more “Sustainable” and “Inclusive” economy. Calling the model “Corporate” or “Corporatist” Communism, Lindsay explains how this model of Communism blends a Communist political theory and structure with a Fascist economic model of productive forces, creating the tyrannical hybrid that is intended to be the future for mankind both East, under the Chinese Communist Party, and West, under the United Nations and affiliates. This groundbreaking lecture provides a basis for completely changing the discourses around what’s happening in our world today.

I routinely expect actual history to be hilariously weird and over-the-top, but I have to admit that "guy who practically becomes national hero for assassinating health insurance CEO turns out to [allegedly] be an anti-woke front-row techbro from the exact same social milieu that gave us Nancy Pelosi" was not, repeat not, anywhere on my radar.

i figured it was 60-40 in favor of being a rightwinger.
the economic problems in this country affect everyone who makes less than 100k a year. that anger exists on both sides of the imaginary aisle.
i put 60-40 instead of 50-50 because let's be real... did you think a fucking lib was going to do such a thing? and do you think most anarchists can afford health insurance?
i'll take a win where i can get it. if right wingers go killing ceo's and leave everyone else the fuck alone, i didn't see a thing.

I don’t see how you can possibly enjoy US chocolate. It tastes like sawdust that’s been drowned in sugar and soaked with baby vomit.
\
It tastes like that, by the way, because that’s roughly what it is. American chocolate (I’m talking about the non-fancy stuff) has a lot more sugar and a lot less cocoa than its European counterparts. Some producers also allegedly put their milk through a process called controlled lipolysis which produces butyric acid. What’s that when it’s at home? It’s something that’s found in vomit. God knows what else Americans get up to in their chocolate factories. A lawsuit recently filed in New York alleges that Hershey, which has the licence to produce Cadbury products in the US, “fails to disclose” that some of its chocolate products “contain unsafe levels of lead and cadmium”.
\
There may be identifiable reasons that explain why US chocolate is so gross but here’s what I have a hard time understanding: why do Americans, who excel at many things, stand for this? Why are they so complacent about their terrible healthcare system and their chlorinated chicken and their rancid chocolate? I’m not being a chocolate snob here (well, I’m only being a little bit of a snob), because there’s a serious side to this: Europe is a lot stricter about many food additives than the US. Americans have basically been poisoned into believing that their chocolate tastes nice, I reckon.

You don't understand. This was plotted. The police had nothing on him. Their only lead, three days after the crime, was a bag full of monopoly money. He played them like a fiddle.

You don't just go out, weapon used in the crime, four fake IDs used for the crime, the silencer seen in the video, with the exact same clothes in which you committed the act and behave suspicious in a McDonald's.

If he stays hidden, his mystique will become a symbol, give him a name and a platform, and many more will follow in his footsteps.

The German Paedo-Files (2020)

By: Ekaterina Kozhakina

Helmut Kentler was a Berlin-based psychology professor who was hailed as a hero of the sexual revolution. He argued that placing homeless children in the care of known paedophiles would contribute to the kids’ socialisation while giving the guardians a chance to become caring foster parents.

Berlin's welfare authorities condoned his views and, for decades, allowed him to conduct his «social experiment». After 30 years, several victims came forward and in this RTD documentary share harrowing memories of the abuse they suffered at the hands of their supposed 'caregivers'.

Marie Antoinette – (1755–1793). Wife of Louis XVI of France. One of the charges brought against Marie Antoinette was that she had ‘debauched liaisons with women as well as with men’. Even as early as 1775 her strong friendships with women were looked upon with suspicion. Many of these accusations against her, made by the French, were grounded in the fear of Austrian domination, via ‘petticoat power’ wielded by Marie Antoinette and her mother, Maria Theresa, Empress of Austria.

Ebay seller shipped the Ryzen AM4 cpu just in a plastic bag between two pieces of cardboard and then in a small bubble mailer.

The pins were bent.

Took me about an hour of careful work with an exacto knife under a light to get them all bent back in place.

I guess that is one reason that AMD switched to LGA instead of PGA for their AM5 processors.

I do like AM4 and bent pins are rarely a problem... but when you do have to deal with bent pins, they sure can be frustrating.

He said it was the first CPU he ever sold.

I suppose I could go back in his reviews on completed sales to confirm that.

If he was telling the truth, I may give him some slack.

*Deny, Defend, Depose*, today's post by Cory Doctorow is about when rightful outrage turns into deadly rage. It's also about what almost everybody born elsewhere can feel about the US death and greed cultures, and how both of these cultures interact.

It's deadly serious, and also seriously witty. If so many people wouldn't be dying of it, it would probably have been even funny.

I'm not a big "prayer warrior" type. It's not in my nature, but I try to align my actions with my beliefs.

I think it was from one of Dick Eastman's (?) books that I read something to the effect that we pray according to our faith. Meaning, if we believe that God:
1) hears our prayer
2) can do anything
3) has good intentions for people
then we will pray because why wouldn't you?

I think a lot of times we don't pray because we don't believe the 1, 2, and 3 above. In that case, of course it would seem like prayer is a waste of time. It's just something that old people do, or something that super-religious people do.

I remember reading about Charles Finney's revival meetings. He said that before he showed up in an area, there would be a couple of people who would travel there before him and pray. He credited that prayer for the success of the meetings.

Intercessory prayer is powerful. Read how Daniel prayed for his people in Daniel chapter 9. He was reading the prophesies of Jeremiah and was compelled to pray for the Jewish people. He confessed their sins and asked God for mercy. As a result, the angel Gabriel comes to tell him that as soon as he began to pray, "a word went out" in answer in heaven.

Sometimes we don't know what we ought to pray for. In these cases, the Spirit himself intercedes for us on our behalf (Rom 8:26-27). For Pentecostals/Charismatics, we understand this to be "praying in the spirit" which our mind does not understand, as Paul explains in 1 Cor 14.

Sorry for the ramble. If you are worried or anxious about anything, I want to encourage you to pray to God about it! Let your requests be known to Him who can do all things more than we can imagine. It's not a waste of time.

The violent response to #BrianThompson, a CEO who profits obscenely from the torment and suffering of millions of customers.

It didn't need to happen. Those CEOs have had plenty of warning that oppressed people will be pushed only so far before seeking a violent response.

The title short story from collection _Radicalized_, by @pluralistic, details how people are corralled by the physical suffering of family members, exploited by an insurance industry deliberately designed to extract wealth while denying health care, and finally resort to violent terrorism in the absence of any other effective option.

CEOs have had this, and for decades many other, warnings that they must stop the ghoulish practice of denying health care to those who need it, while extracting wealth. A reckoning is coming.

This week @pluralistic wrote this article, in response to the murder of #BrianThompson and the clear similarity of this situation to his _Radicalized_ short story (2019).

Years ago, Doctorow was wondering at the fact angry gunmen, frequently made financially desperate because of denial-of-care industries like #ForProfitHealthInsurance, somehow don't turn that rage against the industry profiting from their suffering:

“This is an industry that is practically *designed* to fill the people who interact with it with uncontrollable rage. I mean, if you're watching your wife or your kid die before your eyes because some millionaire CEO decided to aim for a $10 billion stock buyback this year instead of his customary $9 billion target, wouldn't you feel that kind of murderous rage?”

Devant la guerre - by Branko Milanovic

#history #geopolitics #imperialism #war

As this brief description makes clear similarities with today’s situation are many. Whereas the conclusion of the Cold War did not have an official ending similar to Versailles, its main contours reproduced Versailles. The satisfied powers, the winners of the Cold War, were the US, UK, France and foremost Germany that regained unity. On the other hand, the “New World Order” produced one large power (Russia) that was from the very beginning unsatisfied with the outcome, especially since Russia, like Germany in 1918, did not at all feel defeated. From the very beginning when under Yeltsin the country was half-destroyed and internationally behaved more or less like a US vassal, Russia was resentful of one aspect of the victors’ policies: the extension of their military alliance to Russia’s borders.

Something stinky here. First, the guy kept the gun allegedly used? After shooting someone and successfully escaping, who keeps an incriminating piece of evidence.

Second, who keeps the clothing used in said crime? Refer to issue 1

Third, Fake ID's? Once you use a fake ID, it's burned. You don't keep it.

Fourth, Manifesto? Something like that is usually left at the scene or where it can be found. Why carry/keep it with you?
