Alles was uns dazu einfällt ist die Erinnerung an das Buch 1984 von George Orwell und die bittere Wahrheit "Big Brother is watching you". Das Wahrheitsministerium schreibt mit der neu entwickelten Sprache Neusprech die Geschichte. Und sie schreibt sie tagtäglich um, je nachdem Den Ereignissen den aktuellen Ereignissen.
Wir können diesen Zynismus der beiden Egomanen nur mit einem weiteren Vorschlag auf die Spitze treiben. Schließlich hat ja auch der US Präsident Obama den Friedensnobelpreis bekommen, obwohl er durch seine Unterschrift unter die tagtäglichen Drohnentötungen auch – je nach Zählung – 5-7 Menschen pro Tag in seiner Amtszeit auf dem Gewissen hat.
Soll der nächsten Nobelpreis doch an die Präsidentin der EU Kommission Ursula von der Leyen gehen, die bereits konkrete Kriegspläne mit einem festen Datum äußert: "Der vollumfängliche Krieg wird 20230 neue Realität" und dazu wird Europa - sie meint natürlich nur die EU - in den nächsten vier Jahren 650 Milliarden Euro an "Verteidigungsinvestitionen" mobilisieren - und mit diesem "Sondervermögen" meint sie natürlich nur Schulden für uns, unsere Kinder und Enkel. « La Fonderie du Réel », collectif de dirigeants, de hauts fonctionnaires et de professionnels venus du terrain, dénonce dans cette tribune le mépris croissant envers la classe moyenne, symbole d’une méritocratie et d’une justice sociale en déclin. Dans une France frappée par la désindustrialisation, la promesse, longuement bâtie depuis 1789, d’une démocratie à la fois politique et économique, semble trahie. Ils appellent à une revitalisation de la classe moyenne.
Ils n’ont pas compris. La classe moyenne est en train de décrocher, et l’élite regarde ailleurs. Pourtant, depuis quarante ans, nous avons laissé se fissurer ce qui faisait le socle de notre pacte républicain : une promesse d’égalité des chances, la stabilité d’un État protecteur, la reconnaissance du travail comme vecteur d’émancipation. Cette promesse, c’était celle d’une démocratie politique et économique, patiemment construite depuis 1789. Aujourd’hui, elle est trahie. Le déclassement ne frappe pas uniquement les plus précaires : il ronge les familles qui font tourner le pays. Employés, fonctionnaires, petits entrepreneurs, professions intermédiaires… Tous ceux que l’on appelle par facilité la « classe moyenne » voient leur pouvoir d’achat stagner, leurs enfants s’exiler, leurs repères vaciller.
Le mépris des élites ou le sacrifice de la classe moyenne/
Et face à cela ? Le silence ou pire : le mépris. Comme si cette souffrance n’avait pas droit de cité dans le débat public. Une enquête nationale menée sur les Cahiers de doléances du Grand débat (2018-2019), récemment analysée par le CNRS, révèle pourtant une parole puissante, structurée, lucide : les citoyens ne réclament pas des aides, mais de la considération ; pas des promesses, mais de l’équité ; pas des slogans, mais des actes.
Ils dénoncent l’effondrement des services publics, l’abandon des territoires, l’injustice fiscale. Ils formulent des propositions concrètes, réclament une meilleure répartition des ressources, une démocratie plus proche, une école plus juste. Cette parole est ignorée. Les témoignages que nous avons recueillis dans plusieurs régions françaises disent la même chose : une vie qui se tend, des métiers qui ne permettent plus de se loger, de se soigner, des enfants qui partent, un sentiment d’inutilité sociale. L’angoisse de tomber, même en travaillant. « On n’est pas pauvres, mais on n’a plus de marge », résume Sabine, cadre dans le secteur public, mère de deux enfants. « Moi je vois ma vie comme une stagnation », confie Dominique, enseignante dans une ville moyenne. La peur n’est plus celle du chômage, mais celle du déclassement, mais aussi de l’invisibilité. Car il ne s’agit pas seulement d’une crise matérielle.
Comme le montre Pierre Rosanvallon dans Les Épreuves de la vie : Comprendre autrement les Français (Seuil), il s’agit d’un manque de respect. Ce que demandent les classes moyennes, c’est d’être vues, entendues, considérées. De ne pas être réduites à des statistiques ou à une « variable d’ajustement » électorale. Or, tout dans le système actuel – de la technostructure parisienne aux grandes métropoles – les tient à l’écart. Christopher Lasch dans La révolte des élites : et la trahison de la démocratie (Flammarion), avait prévenu : une société où les dirigeants vivent en vase clos, sans plus de lien avec la majorité, finit par se disloquer. Nous y sommes. Les élites, dont tous ceux qui écrivent ou lisent ces lignes font partie, n’ont pas trahi par cynisme, mais par paresse : fortes de leur réussite individuelle, elles ont abandonné leur responsabilité collective. Elles pensent que leur réussite personnelle est justifiée par leur mérite propre et que si les autres ne réussissent pas, c’est qu’ils ne le méritent pas.
La France, l’un des pays développés où le travail paie le moins
Elles ont pensé que l’ascenseur social continuerait de monter tout seul. Qu’il suffisait d’invoquer la start-up nation pour apaiser les angoisses d’un peuple désorienté. Pire encore : elles ont cessé de croire au rôle de l’État comme acteur de justice et d’égalité. Elles ont abandonné les politiques industrielles, laissées en jachère l’éducation et la santé, fait de la décentralisation le seul axe de l’aménagement du territoire. Résultat : une perte de souveraineté économique, une fuite des compétences, une dégradation du système de soin, une explosion des fractures territoriales. Les usines partent ailleurs, les hôpitaux ferment, les jeunes s’exilent, les infrastructures se dégradent, et l’on s’étonne de la colère.
De plus, et comme l’a récemment souligné Antoine Foucher dans Sortir du travail qui ne paie plus : Compromis pour une société du travail au XIIe siècle (Éditions de l’Aube), la France est devenue l’un des pays développés où le travail paie le moins – surtout pour les classes moyennes. Non pas parce que les salaires seraient anormalement bas, mais parce que l’addition des prélèvements sociaux, des seuils fiscaux et de la dégressivité des aides finit par neutraliser tout gain réel d’effort. Pour ces familles qui ne bénéficient ni des dispositifs sociaux les plus généreux ni des revenus les plus élevés, chaque promotion, chaque heure supplémentaire ou chaque prise de risque professionnel peut se traduire par une perte nette. Il n’est pas rare qu’un couple avec enfants, gagnant entre 2 500 et 4 000 euros par mois, voie ses prestations baisser plus vite que ses revenus n’augmentent.
La classe moyenne travaille, paie, mais ne progresse plus. Elle s’épuise dans un système qui lui fait payer pour les autres sans jamais lui tendre la main. L’ascenseur social grince, l’effort n’est plus récompensé, et le contrat implicite sur lequel repose la démocratie sociale – celui qui dit que le travail assure un avenir meilleur – est en train de se rompre.
Rebâtir une classe moyenne solide
Alors que faire ? Il est temps de reconstruire un projet collectif, de réaffirmer le rôle et l’autorité de l’État là, et uniquement là, où ils font sens et de relancer une vraie mobilité sociale. Il s’agit de rebâtir une classe moyenne solide en redonnant de la marge de manœuvre à ceux qui travaillent dur, mais n’arrivent plus à vivre décemment de leur salaire. Bien sûr, si l’on veut redonner confiance aux classes moyennes et redresser le pays, il faut aller au-delà des incantations sociales et proposer un véritable cap productif. Ce cap passe par une stratégie résolue de réindustrialisation, d’efficacité dans l’éducation et la santé, de réinvestissement des territoires, adossée à la révolution technologique en cours. La croissance ne renaîtra pas du passé.
Il faut investir dans le capital humain et la technologie pour créer les conditions de la croissance de demain. La digitalisation, l’intelligence artificielle, la robotique ou l’ingénierie quantique ne sont pas des lubies d’ingénieurs : elles seront au cœur de la création de valeur, des gains de productivité et de la souveraineté économique. Il faut une alliance entre innovation, production, services publics et enracinement local. Cela suppose d’investir massivement dans les secteurs stratégiques : énergies décarbonées, semi-conducteurs, biotechnologies, technologies industrielles avancées, mais aussi dans les infrastructures numériques nécessaires à l’émergence de champions technologiques locaux. C’est ce cap que la France et l’Europe doivent assumer pour sortir de la stagnation et redonner de l’élan à la démocratie sociale.
L’Europe doit construire son propre modèle productif, durable et compétitif. L’industrie de demain ne sera pas concentrée dans des zones denses, mais distribuée, flexible, ancrée localement. Elle doit s’appuyer sur des bassins de vie, des compétences existantes, des lycées professionnels, des plateformes technologiques régionales. C’est aussi en investissant dans les écosystèmes territoriaux que l’on redonnera de l’emploi, du sens, et de la fierté aux populations aujourd’hui déclassées.
Ce n’est pas le passé qu’il faut restaurer, mais la promesse républicaine qu’il faut tenir. Celle d’un pays où chacun, quel que soit son lieu de naissance ou sa profession, peut espérer un avenir meilleur. Le pacte n’est pas rompu, mais il est fragile. Il est temps de le réparer. Nous sommes comme les gens que décrit Christopher Clarck dans Les somnambules : Été 1914 : comment l'Europe a marché vers la guerre (Flammarion) : des somnambules. Il faut faire vite.

We believe that this is a wise and proper law, foundational for a truly fair and democratic nation. We agree that it should be the duty of every law maker and every law enforcer in the land to abide by this amendment and this section without exception.
This law has also been assumed to protect the right of return by US citizens. When a US citizen leaves the US, they have a right to freely re-enter their country, and can expect due process of law if there is any question about the circumstances of their return.
In Kent v. Dulles, 357 U.S. 116 (1958), a landmark decision of the U.S. Supreme Court on the right to travel, Justice William O. Douglas, held that the federal government may not restrict the right to travel without due process:
"The right to travel is a part of the 'liberty' of which the citizen cannot be deprived without due process of law under the Fifth Amendment. If that 'liberty' is to be regulated, it must be pursuant to the law-making functions of the Congress. ... Freedom of movement across frontiers in either direction, and inside frontiers as well, was a part of our heritage. Travel abroad, like travel within the country, ... may be as close to the heart of the individual as the choice of what he eats, or wears, or reads. Freedom of movement is basic in our scheme of values."
Under current federal actions, we believe that our travel rights need to be made explicit. We have a right to travel from and return to the US, just as surely as we have a right to freedom of speech. We should not feel in danger simply for returning to our country. We should clearly have the right NOT to be locked out or locked up by our country upon re-entry without a fair hearing.
~We have family, who we love, that we have a right to visit and even cohabit with when they are in other countries. This right strengthens good international relations. ~We wish to enrich our understanding of the world, and bring those insights back to our country. ~We hold strong feelings for a beautiful country of ocean shores, rivers, forest, mountains, and plains. @Jarasy The worst case of targetting civilians was Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Japan had completely run out of fuel so could no longer defend itself in any way. You are constantly told that the bombs were needed to end the war but Russia had already started to take over Japan from the north and Japan had made it clear that they wished to surrender to the US rather than Russia but the sticking point was that they wished to retain their Emporer. The US chose two non military target because they wanted to have good examples of before and after photos whereas all the military targets were already destroyed and cities like Tokyo were already flattened. So two civilian targets (I do accept there were storage camps etc. but do not accept that they were significant military targets) were chosen for the worst two attrocities ever. Japan was then allowed to surrender and keep their Emporer. Dresden was similar in that it was also an experiment rather than an act of war but with incendaries. The ring of fire took the oxygen out of the center of the city. The city was fully working again in a couple of days but the entire population had been suffocated. Personally I do not see such acts as somehow better than Hamas or Mandella etc..
@Trocatintas Are you saying that you believe that makes it OK to become a violent oppressive terrorist? Mandella was blowing up the railway stations, working people going to work. Please explain how that is fighting the oppressive regime you speak of. Apartheid? The only member of Mandella's cell that was executed was the white guy. To conflate Nelson Mandella, Hamas, IDF - I would accept as opinion and you could counter that opinion but you failed to do so. @Jamie Yes. All of what you say about Hiroshima and Nagasaki is a story I repeat often to others. Part of using the A-bombs was to signal the Russians that we had them ready for practical use and were insane enough to do so.
Contrary to the public story about what ended the war, the bombs made no difference to Japan at that point. One of their generals famously said it made no difference if it was one bomb or a thousand bombs.
MacArthur and the US were insisting on unconditional surrender without giving in on that small point of saving the emporer. I had also thought that the US had finally agreed about the emporer but after reading more I believe that it was an unpublicized back door agreement so the US could claim it was unconditional while Japan got to save the emporer. I read that the actual process of returning him to his position was quietly handled by MacArthur himself some months later and billed as a spontaneous act of kindness.

Australian Police Assault Green Party Candidate Hannah Thomas During Pro-Palestine Protest
Hannah Thomas, a lawyer and recent Green Party candidate who ran against Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in the federal seat of Grayndler, has reportedly been violently assaulted by Australian police during a protest. The demonstration took place outside a company accused by protesters of cooperating with #Israel. According to reports, #Thomas sustained serious injuries to one of her eyes during her arrest and was rushed to hospital. Doctors fear she may lose her vision as a result.

There is plenty of literature on how governments finance "NGOs" to hijack civil society and use human rights to promote regime change and wars. Besides leaving a trail of disasters behind them abroad, they also punish dissent at home.
I have been at the receiving end of endless articles and weekly smears online from this so-called human rights "NGO" for more than four years, which continues to go after my university even after I had to withdraw from all national media. Their other activities include cancelling my speaking events and doxxing me.
Now, this "NGO" is being banned in Russia, and they blame me for it. Why? Twenty professors and academics signed a letter criticizing this "NGO" for harassing me, and now the "NGO" speculates that it attracted the attention of the FSB. This is the actual story they are going with, but it is good enough for the people we generously refer to as journalists.
A few weeks ago, a journalist applied and was granted full access to all my documents at the university, which includes everything from the job application to my professorship promotion application. Why? To go through everything and look for anything that can be presented as academic dishonesty. This is how you get academics fired.
