GPs will be told to stop issuing millions of sick notes and instead send patients to job coaches or the gym, in a pilot scheme to help get people back to work. GP surgeries in the trial will receive funding to co-ordinate with so-called โ€œsocial prescribing workersโ€, who refer patients to non-traditional treatments such as gym memberships and gardening classes.

While this is an interesting look at objectivity in #journalism, the authors appear to be completely unaware of the existing school of thought & practice known as #MovementJournalism which not only has already offered examples and crititiques of objectivity, but there are also publications like Prism and MLK 50 and journalists (myself included) who ground their work in this theory.

It is unfortunate that CJR was unaware of this.

Sugary drinks are the #1 bugaboo for most people.

This is the cure.

I also sneak in an Orange Crush Zero, Dr. Pepper Zero or an A&W Zero on occasion.

Suss Allulose Syrup. I buy this by the gallon.

I make Lemon Tea with this syrup and it's fantastic. I also sweeten Plain Yogurt with it. Oatmeal. Protein Smoothies. Lemonade. Coffee.

So good. Better than just not using sugar. It actually reduces blood sugar when combined with intake of other carbs and sucrose/fructose sources. As it competes with fructose and glucose for absorption before eventually being excreted. It cant be used for energy by your metabolic system and it isnt stored as fat. It's a naturally ocurring rare sugar.

in reply to EscapeVelocity

@EscapeVelocity This is false advertising because Allulose is a mono-saccharide, i.e., it is a sugar, but one that is not fully digested in the human body and does not significantly raise blood sugar. Like regular sugar though, it can be caramelized, albeit at a lower temperature, and you can bake with it, though you need more and it alters the optimum baking temperature. But it IS a sugar, so calling a product based upon it sugar free is plain and simple false advertising.

We are looking for an investor who can loan our holding company 237,000 US dollars.

With this money, we will open a farm in Baku, Azerbaijan to produce animal-based food.

We will also make our own animal feed, so our products will be healthier, better quality, and cheaper.

Because we sell quality products for less and have strong advertising, we will sell more worldwide and make big profits.

Why Azerbaijan? Because animal farming makes a lot of money there, but few people do it. Thatโ€™s why we will earn more by starting in Azerbaijan.

Additionally, by producing our own animal feed, we will be able to sell healthier, higher quality animal products at a lower price.

Since we can sell quality products cheaply and thanks to our strong advertising network, we will be able to sell more internationally and make huge profits.

The reason for establishing the business in Azerbaijan is that animal husbandry is a very profitable business in Azerbaijan, but since there are very few people doing animal husbandry, establishing the farm in Azerbaijan will provide us with more income.

Your profit:

You will lend 237,000 US dollars to our holding company and when 22.03.2026 comes, you will receive your money back as 953,000 US dollars.

Your earnings will be great. When 22.03.2026 comes, you will get your money back as 953.00 US dollars.

You will lend 237,000 US dollars to our holding company and when 22.03.2026 comes, you will receive your money back as 953,000 US dollars.

When 22.03.2026 comes, I will give you back your money in the amount of 953,000 US dollars.

That means you will earn 716,000 US dollars profit in just 9 months.

If you like this project and want to loan us money, message me on WhatsApp or Telegram for more details.

So, as has been made clear both by myself and by others responding, there are tasks for which a GUI is absolutely essential, and tasks for which it is optional, and tasks for which it is actually sub-optimal.

This is perfectly normal, as far as I'm concerned. The question of which is "better" is a nonsensical question -- there is only "better for what".

So let's say you had to live without GUI programs for a year. Not that you or I will be doing this, but game it out with me. You can still technically have a GUI, as you can use X/Wayland, your choice of window manager, and your choice of terminal emulator, but all your actual applications must run in the terminal emulator.

Can you survive?

My main problem with UIs, especially web UIs, is the inconsistency.

Cases such as filling up a form with values and choices. Why does this take 800 different appearances and behaviors ? And I am not looking about personal choices for themes, which could always be on the user side (or even an option offered by a site).

The site owner in the end wants a JSON + validated fields. I want my browser to open my local data-entry window and give me consistency. I should have my own native data entry tool that just sends back the JSON according to requirements.

But nobody would do it then. First, you need a concentration of capital to build the factory, this isn't a function of how much the builders are paid, it's a function of the cost of land, the engineering, the materials acquisition. Second, if you can get the same pay for flipping burgers as someone who goes to college for 8-12 years to learn a really complex subject, why would anyone do that? Communism didn't work. History is packed with it's failures and not a single success.

Do you think if a Indian person saw a White person pooping on the street and bowing down to a statue of a hindu god that they would promote that White person in a Hindu or Indian infiltrated corporation

Also would this explain the stories about Elites doing grotesque rituals

Are they trying to fit in with the Hindus or Indians who have poop throwing religious ceremonies and similar things

in reply to shortstories

@shortstories If you want to get right down to it, we all appear to have a relationship with each other, every form of life, every animal, plant, single celled organism, there are some genes such as those having to do with energy production or transcribing DNA to RNA, these things are common to almost if not all life forms. At some point when there is enough genetic drift, it is no longer possible to line up chromosomes and form a new organism, too many pair mismatches. Australian Aborigines are the only human beings on Earth that we know have some difficulty reproducing with other humans, and even for them it is not impossible, but this comes from 40,000 years of genetic isolation. In addition every modern human language in existence can be traced back to a common language in Africa. So yea regardless of what racists say we are the same species. And as much genetic variability that there APPEARS to be within human beings, it is actually much less than that of many other species because humans went through a genetic bottleneck between 150,000 and 200,000 years ago in which there were believed to be fewer than 1000 individuals world-wide.

People have tried to claim that both Hinduism and Judaism are ethnocentric religions but I would suggest that Hindu's are not trying to prevent White or Black or SouthEast Asian or Hispanic people from practicing Hinduism but instead people from these other ethnic groups simply for the most part are not interested in becoming Hindus, some are interested in Yoga but for the most part they are not interested in setting up a Statue to a Hindu deity and performing rituals

I was wondering if @KK954 knows anybody down in Florida that grows Barbados Cherry aka Acerola.

Ive been contemplating attempting some around here in coastal SC.

Ive run into chefs who are obsessed with evenly sprinkling spice over food.

I think that is a huge mistake. You want some variation on the amount of spice on say a fish filet that you are broiling. Not a completely even layer over the entire fish. For one thing the fish itself has a thicker central area of the filet which tapers off towards the sides (upper and lower fish).

But just looking at the shirmp here. Some variation in the amount of spice on each shrimp gives a variety of flavor combos. Those with less basil and thyme, allow the butter, lemon and garlic to step forward...not to forget the mild flavor of the shrimp itself.

In Central Alabama, we get daily trucks up from Mobile with fresh shrimp on ice. It's not as good as eating shrimp on the coast, but it's still pretty damn good.

I buy frozen bags of shrimp, too, but I always, always check the label and make sure it's not from India or China. I only buy the frozen gulf shrimp or the wild caught Argentinian shrimp. They charge about 5-10 bucks extra per bag to not include Indian poo. Money well spent.

I've been wanting to visit Bayou La Batre for a while because there's a weird Soviet mini submarine that ended up there for some reason, and you can see it from the highway that goes into town.

Bayou La Batre is more or less the inspiration for Greenbow, Alabama from Forrest Gump. There are shrimp boats lined up in the bayou and several fish markets where you can buy fresh seafood. I'm planning to take my mini fridge with me when I go and come back loaded down, and put on a feast.

I found out AFTER I moved away from Florida that state residents are allowed to harvest some ridiculous amount of fresh shrimp without a permit, like 2 gallons per person per day. You can just put out a cast net with a punctured can of cat food and they'll flock to it, then you pull the net up.

There ain't nothing like fresh, just came out of the water and got its little head popped off shrimp.

I picked up some Camu Camu Powder to mix with Protein-Fiber Smoothies for a blast of Natural Vitamin C.

Camu Camu is a dark red to deep purple bush berry that grows in the Amazon forest along river basins. The bush can survive being completely submerged during flooding. It has the highest concentration of vitamin C known...beating even the Barbados Cherry (aka Acerola).
