L'ado a testé les "nicotines pouches", il a commandé sur Internet, sans m'en parler. C'est un des potes qui m'a appeler pour me dire "faut venir chercher KiD, il est mal, on a pris des nicopuches et on est malades..." Je l'ai retrouvé allongé par terre, dans un parc, sur le dos, avec les symptômes suivants : - Nausées, vertiges, pouls à 100+ puis vomissements et maux de tête. Ça peut aller jusqu'à : convulsions, perte de connaissance, syndrome nicotinique aigu.
C'est en partie ma faute, on parle de tout aavec KiD, mais ça je ne connaissais pas, je n'ai pas pu lui en parle, le prévenir. Malheureusement d'autres lui en on parlé en disant "C'est super fun d'la balle frère tu vas kiffer ta race, té pas un bonhomme si tu test pas !" etc... sur TikTok ... KiD a refusé de me dire qui, il sait que je suis foutu d'aller jusqu'à Dubai pour pendre cet abrutis avec les intestins de ses gardes du corp de grosse flipette d'étron "d'influenceur"
malheureusement ça existe depuis des dizaines d'années, j'ai connu ça il y a 20 ans environ en Suède (mon cousin ne fumait pas mais prenait ces pochettes) ... Je pensais que ça n'allait jamais marcher parce que c'était dégueulasse et pourtant je fumais ... Il faut vraiment interdire tout ce qui est addictif et aromatisé pour que ces entreprises ne fassent plus de business sur le dos de gamins!

But I'm thinking to start up Lemmy and unsubscribe from all communities and to delete the one community I have on my Lemmy instance which has only very few subscribers.

It definitely depends on the software, for example in matrix you can easily cause federation issues in some cases. this won't blow up the fediverse, but it could impact the user experience if they rely on or interact with that instance.

So, as has been made clear both by myself and by others responding, there are tasks for which a GUI is absolutely essential, and tasks for which it is optional, and tasks for which it is actually sub-optimal.
This is perfectly normal, as far as I'm concerned. The question of which is "better" is a nonsensical question -- there is only "better for what".
So let's say you had to live without GUI programs for a year. Not that you or I will be doing this, but game it out with me. You can still technically have a GUI, as you can use X/Wayland, your choice of window manager, and your choice of terminal emulator, but all your actual applications must run in the terminal emulator.
Let's start with the hardest stuff: web stuff. There exist text-mode web browsers, but they really aren't that great. You can forget most modern web sites and web apps.
Mastodon or Bluesky? There are TUI apps for that, so at least you're covered there. Email? Lots of choices there. Pick a text editor you like, you're going to be using it a lot.
I don't know if you'd consider it cheating, but browsh is _insane_ as a console browser. It relies on Firefox under the covers, but I consider that acceptable, it's still text mode 😀
There is certain software I use for my job that only has a gui, but if there were text based equivalents, I could probably survive. I'm assuming TUIs count.

Back in the day, my 286 worked fine in text mode, the only thing that was really missing was multitasking (to not block the whole computer by one long running task). (S)VGA graphic looked better than text mode, but its only real advantage was that you could put more information on screen. OS/2's Workplace Shell actually made use of the graphic mode, but, long story short, the Unix command line is so powerful you could get almost all of WPS's benefits just by having several terminals open at the same time. So far, every Unix desktop I've seen is a downgrade from the command line. More convenient, but less powerful. Ever since I switched to Linux, I've always had several terminal windows open (which I never need in OS/2).
So, yeah, I'd survive. My only concern would be I'd like it too much. I'd probably switch to Emacs, though, finally learn LISP, and never touch a Unix desktop again.
Basically, anything that has to playback video or render 3D environments is the only thing I *need* a GUI for. I don't feel comfortable using it for creating partitions, but that's just because I'm scared of accidentally nuking my backup drive with a Linux installation again.
My main problem with UIs, especially web UIs, is the inconsistency.
Cases such as filling up a form with values and choices. Why does this take 800 different appearances and behaviors ? And I am not looking about personal choices for themes, which could always be on the user side (or even an option offered by a site).
The site owner in the end wants a JSON + validated fields. I want my browser to open my local data-entry window and give me consistency. I should have my own native data entry tool that just sends back the JSON according to requirements.

First, you need a concentration of capital to build the factory, this isn't a function of how much the builders are paid, it's a function of the cost of land, the engineering, the materials acquisition. Second, if you can get the same pay for flipping burgers as someone who goes to college for 8-12 years to learn a really complex subject, why would anyone do that? Communism didn't work.
