Bazzite
So, Bazzite is a weird one: it's based on Fedora Atomic, so it's an "immutable" distro, and it's built using universal blue, which is a build system that lets you create tailored distro images for plenty of purposes.
I ran all the games at the native resolution of my monitor, so 3440x1440. Horizon is run using the latest version of Proton from Valve, the rest are native Linux games. Everything was ran at their max settings, at the native resolution, without any resolution scaling. Everything ran under Wayland, with all the latest updates applied.
So, For Horizon Zero Dawn, running the benchmark gave me an average of 80 FPS at these maxed out settings. In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, I got 105 FPS on average in the benchmark, and for Total War Warhammer 3 on the battle benchmark, it reached 56.4 FPS and 52.5 FPS on the campaign benchmark.
Nobara
Next is Nobara. This isn't an immutable distribution, it's Fedora, plus a lot of kernel patches, addons, drivers and tools focused specifically on gaming and on improving performance
In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, I got 106 FPS on average in the benchmark. In Total War Warhammer 3's battle benchmark, I got 57 FPS on average, and 54.7 FPS on average for the campaign benchmark. In Horizon Zero Dawn, Nobara got 80 FPS on average.
HoloISO
I also gave a shot to HoloISO, in its new immutable form, but it never managed to give me a bootable system, no matter how hard I tried.
Chimera OS
Chimera OS is an arch based distribution, it's an atomic distro, so immutable, and includes a bunch of emulation tools as well as optimizations for gaming. It defaults to GNOME as its desktop, compared to KDE for the other distros I tested.
In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, I got 102 FPS on average in the benchmark, similar to other distros I tested. In Total War Warhammer 3's battle benchmark, I got 55.3 FPS on average, and 51.1 FPS on average for the campaign benchmark. In Horizon Zero Dawn, Chimera OS got 73 FPS on average, strangely lower than other distributions.
Tuxedo OS
Just for fun, I decided to also run all of these games on the preinstalled Tuxedo OS, to see if these gaming distros offer improved performance compared to a "normal" system. Here are the results.
In Horizon Zero Dawn, at the max resolution and max settings, with any upscaling, The Atlas S running Tuxedo OS got 81 FPS on average.
In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, at the max settings and resolution, Ubuntu 24.04 reached 106 FPS on average.
In Total War Warhammer 3's battle benchmark, at the max settings and resolution, I got 57 FPS on average, and in the campaign benchmark, it reached 54.9 FPS

The EU is preparing for trade talks with the US and has warned of retaliatory tariffs if Trump follows through on his tariff threats, including a 50% levy on steel and aluminum imports.
The EU has approved tariffs on €21 billion of US goods and is preparing an additional list of tariffs on €95 billion of American products.
The deadline for reaching a mutually acceptable solution is July 9, after which the EU may implement tariffs on July 14 or earlier.

I worked for a small company, not an IT job, this happened like 10 years ago.
The office administrator lady got an email from an unknown address. The email was in Italian, she couldn't speak Italian, but we had an Italian client, so it was not unexpected that we got an email in Italian. The email had an attachment, a docx file. She downloaded it, opened it then Word asked if she wants to allow running macros embedded in the document, and she obviously clicked yes. We had a small Linux file server, and the virus running on her PC encrypted several tenthousand excel files before it was noticed that something is happening and her machine could be switched off.
No problem - said the boss, we only lost a half day of work, as we have an offsite backup, it runs every night, we can just restore yesterday's data. Unfortunately the backup stopped half years ago, but no one checked the logs...
One popular way was that Internet Explorer 6 included something called ActiveX, which basically allowed any website to run code on your computer as though it was a locally-installed program. You could just click on some URL and next thing you know it's writing files to your hard drive. This is one of the main reasons why the Internet Explorer 6 / Windows XP era was particularly virus-filled. A website could open your freaking CD tray.

@Feathercrown I live within 13 miles of a sanctuary city, I've seen the economic impacts first hand, no jobs, cities land values falling by 50%, tent cities everywhere, human shit on the sidewalks everywhere, fentynal overdoses everywhere. About the only thing that has benefited economically is that we can get cheep street drugs, oh that and hookers. But since I'm not into either, no benefit for me.

Wage regulation doesn't work. Seattle is a glowing example of that. They raised their rates to the point where the majority of fast food restaurants folded their operations in town. Many grocery stores also had to close because it just wasn't economically viable to keep doing business there. Many corporations up and left not only the town but the state. Now most of downtown office space is vacant. And they're raising taxes more to pay for what all the free stuff they give to illegals on a shrinking revenue base because everyone legitimate is leaving. I left 45 years ago because I saw the writing on the wall.

You do not have some magic sixth sense that is able to detect whether or not someone could be an abuser.
@violetmadder yeah, I'm pretty disappointed in how many people are financially and emotionally supporting one right now, especially as this does not seem to be the first time a partner has sought a restraining order against him.
I want leftists and, especially anarchists, to really think about how they would react if their friend was accused of being abusive behind closed doors, and how that reaction sits with leftist principles.
Literally no one wants to think of their friends and family as potential abusers, yet that is where the majority of abuse originates. We need better systems to address these issues before they escalate.

As someone that worked for a nuclear power plant operator it's not like the person can't call the plant up and ask them when their next test is, then mark that on their calendar, so they can make sure they're not home when it happens.

you need to be biased as hell against hate speech, abuse tactics, etc. you need to have principles and beliefs and the willingness to take measures to defend them by locking out people and groups who do not share them
if you don't, your space will belong to the worst people you weren't willing to stand up to, and the people you were supposed to protect will leave
While that's true up to a point I think that's a dangerous slippery slope. If someone not unbiased decides they have a ton of hate for a specific group of people, that group of people will in turn not feel welcome either. I know that generally the Fediverse's answer to most things is grab the pitchforks and get very mad at the establishment, or the system, or capitalism, or people who run WIndows/don't use alt text but in this case moderation in all things is very true. Unbiased Maybe not the best approach. "THAT IS THE WRONG FUCKING ANSWER!": maybe not the best approach either. But hey, who am I ...
