ABC7 is reporting that a dispersal order has been given, and definitely a lot more nose-to-nose contact between protesters and #LAPD, but not in front of the detention center itself, where the CA National Guard are.
The Al Rojo Vivo camera crew ended up behind the riot line with a few people repeating chants and got sprinted on, very aggressive (and effective) dispersal. Someone yelled "scatter!" which would have been a slapstick moment if not for the fact that, you know, armored and quite armed police officers were sprinting at them.

Dudes hanging off the truck and others uniformed like them are Sherriff's deputies. LAPD themselves are in all-black riot gear. I don't know if the perimeter in the top are CA National Guard broadening their own perimeter. It would be the right time for that, so yea, maybe.
The National Guard's part of this is basically done, now. Their orders are to protect federal property, that's where the federal government's authority ends according to whatever is left of the flesh of federalist democracy in the US.

Speaking of the 1033 Program, LA County Sherrif's office brought what I believe is an LRAD, a sonic cannon that will absolutely permanently damage the hearing of people in the crowd if and when it is used.
I can't pay attention to what's going on and research this any more, but it looks like LA County Sherrif's Department does own LRADs, at any rate. This one looks different but not *that* different.

During the 2020 protests, police have used an LRAD sonic weapon to disperse protesters. What is it, how does it work, and how can you protect your ears?
But it's worth mentioning that in addition to suppressing civilian populations, the LRAD is also well-loved among the naval warfare community. It is excellent for pointing at a boat with would be raiders/bombers/etc. and making them *really* want to not be going where your cannon is pointed from.
If you've never seen videos of these devices used to repel pirates, it gives you a good sense of their efficacy.
The really scary thing to me about the 1033 Program is that LRAD is nowhere near as bad as it gets.

Que l’étude scientifique HMUC (Hydrologie, Milieux, Usages, Climat), robuste base rationnelle déjà issue de discussions sur le partage de l’eau, est volontairement bafouée ou ignorée. Et que la CLE (Commission Locale de l’Eau), espace où se jouent les décisions sur la gestion de l’eau, est toujours noyautée par l’agro-industrie et les conflits d’intérêt.

(en noir sur fond blanc) C’est donc sans aucune forme de légitimité que le préfet Serge Boulanger continue les passages en force dans le sillage de son prédécesseur : il signe un arrêté autorisant six bassines dans le sous-bassin de la Clouère, il entend autoriser des volumes d’eau exorbitants pour l’irrigation pour les 8 prochaines années (AUP), il annonce que de prochaines bassines de la Vienne seraient financées par des collectivités, ou encore que deux chantiers de bassine débuteraient avant la fin de l’année !

Les changements dans la gestion de l’eau qu’impliquent les conclusions de cette étude font peur aux irrigants pro-bassines, qui repoussent sans cesse la mise en application de ses préconisations. Le préfet, qui aime pourtant rappeler la loi, a choisi de ne pas prendre en compte l’étude pour rédiger ses différents arrêtés. Le préfet et cette poignée d’irrigants continuent d’organiser main dans la main le pillage des nappes pour les profits de quelques-uns. Ils condamnent la vie des milieux naturels, l’eau potable des habitant·es et l’avenir de l’agriculture sur le territoire.

Présidentielles 2027 : Marine Le Pen ne sera pas candidate

Le comportement politique des dirigeants du Rassemblement National laisse une drôle d’impression. On a le sentiment d’assister assiste à une pièce théâtre, un simulacre politique, où il est difficile de savoir si Marine Le Pen, Jordan Bardella et les autres leaders de ce parti ont compris ce qui les attend pour la présidentielle de 2027, et que par conséquent ils font semblant. Ou s’ils croient réellement que la patronne du RN récupérera suffisamment à temps son éligibilité pour être candidate à la succession d’Emmanuel Macron.
L’épisode de la procédure de la procédure devant le tribunal administratif pour contester la démission d’office prononcé par le préfet pour son mandat de conseiller départemental nous laisse dans l’expectative. Elle s’est fort normalement fait envoyer dans les cordes par la juridiction. La jurisprudence sur la constitutionnalité et la légalité de cette démission d’office est constante. Les principes ont même été réaffirmés le 28 mars dernier par le Conseil constitutionnel sous la présidence de Richard Ferrand, aimablement installé à ce poste par le Rassemblement National lui-même ! Récemment Marine Le Pen a continué à dire des bêtises et notamment avec la phrase prononcée en Nouvelle-Calédonie lors de sa récente visite : « je suis innocente et je serai candidate à la présidence en 2027 ». D’abord, l’avocate qu’elle est devrait savoir qu’en matière judiciaire, l’innocence ne protège de rien. C’est bien pour ça que les avocats existent. Ensuite Marine Le Pen ne sera pas candidate à la prochaine présidentielle. L’affaire est juridiquement pliée. Quelle que soit la décision rendue par la cour d’appel, dans la procédure concernant les soi-disant « emplois fictifs » du Parlement européen celle-ci fera l’objet d’un recours en cassation. Soit de la part de MLP dont chacun sait bien qu’elle sera plus que probablement à nouveau condamnée. Soit de la part du Parquet National Financier si par un concours de circonstances totalement invraisemblable elle était relaxée. Le caractère exécutoire de l’arrêt de la cour de Paris serait donc suspendu par ce convoi. Et dans ce cas, c’est bien la décision d’inéligibilité exécutoire de première instance du 31 mars dernier qui continuerait à s’appliquer. Là aussi, la jurisprudence est constante. Donc, ce serait bien d’arrêter de faire semblant pour amuser la galerie. Jordan Bardella sera le candidat du RN à la succession d’Emmanuel Macron en avril 2027…
Comment se pose le problème ?
15 jours après la mise en place par le tribunal correctionnel de Paris du piège judiciaire destiné à priver les couches populaires de leur droit de vote pour la candidate qu’elles souhaitaient en 2027, force a été de constater que l’opinion publique d’un pays atone était retournée à sa vacuité. Le soufflé retombé, on parla d’autre chose, et chacun reprenant ses petites affaires.
Le jugement rendu le 31 mars 2025 à l’encontre de Marine Le Pen, assorti de l’exécution provisoire de sa peine d’inéligibilité, a suscité dans le paysage politique français un ensemble de réactions qui témoignent de la mauvaise santé démocratique de la France. En effet derrière la portée directement juridique d’une telle décision, et alors même que celle-ci provoquait une forme de stupeur au plan international, le corps politique français a témoigné de l’étonnante faiblesse de sa culture démocratique. Face à un épisode bien pire que celui de la Roumanie qui avait pourtant provoqué des réactions américaines notamment celle du vice-président Vance lors de son discours de Munich, l’attitude du Rassemblement National fut d’abord de stupeur, puis d’indignation mesurée, et enfin de silence stratégique étonnant pour un parti qui prétend arriver au pouvoir. Rappelons quand même que la justice française venait d’interdire à la dirigeante du premier parti du pays, de se présenter à la principale élection des institutions de la Ve République. Force est de constater trois mois après que l’attentat judiciaire en forme de coup d’État est passé comme une lettre à la poste. L’absence de véritable riposte politique de la part du RN était particulièrement étrange.
Le RN entre stupeur, bricolage et silence stratégique
Manifestement, le RN et ses dirigeants ne s’attendaient pas à la brutalité de la décision judiciaire. Tant en ce qui concerne la peine principale qui est quand même rappelons le, de quatre ans de prison dont deux fermes, que l’inéligibilité assortie de l’exécution provisoire. Cet aveuglement est proprement stupéfiant, lorsque l’on sait ce que ce parti a judiciairement subi depuis de nombreuses années. Et la connaissance qu’il a de la dérive politique et idéologique de l’appareil judiciaire qu’il ne manquait pourtant jamais de critiquer. L’auteur de ces lignes, qui travaille sur cette question depuis des années, a eu l’occasion à plusieurs reprises d’être sollicité et peut par conséquent en témoigner.
Comment Marine Le Pen a-t-elle pu s’imaginer être en sécurité et ne pas prévoir ce qui allait se produire ?
Cette imprévision est établie aussi par le caractère étonnamment atone de la riposte politique immédiate. Surprenant bricolage à base de slogans simplistes sur les « juges rouges » proférés sur quelques plateaux par des seconds couteaux, une focalisation sur le caractère exécutoire de l’inéligibilité en passant sous silence le caractère directement politique du fond du dossier, une communication politique construite finalement sur des déclarations convenues. En tout cas, face à l’agression violente d’une justice organisant une disqualification politique majeure parfaitement prévisible, le Rassemblement National Marine Le Pen en tête, s’est contenté de se présenter en victime. Et pas de s’exprimer au nom de cette France périphérique qui à tort ou à raison lui fait confiance, alors même que ce sont bien ces couches populaires que l’on va priver de leur choix. Ce sont-elles les premières victimes.
L’organisation d’un piteux rassemblement à Paris dans le pire quartier bourgeois de la capitale, est l’illustration du bricolage lié à cette impréparation. Le RN, tout à sa stratégie de dédiabolisation et surtout de normalisation depuis la défaite du 7 juillet 2024, passe son temps à donner des gages, et manifestement il n’entendait pas mobiliser ses troupes et ses électeurs face à l’agression. Se soumettant peut-être au conseil lancé par le quotidien de la droite chic l’Opinion : « Après le séisme judiciaire, Marine Le Pen et ses troupes lancent l’offensive contre un « système » dit hostile. Quitte à compromettre leur stratégie de dédiabolisation ». Message reçu, puisque la manifestation fut organisée sur le territoire de l’arrondissement le plus bourgeois de la capitale, dans l’endroit le plus vaste possible, histoire de faire apparaître, et ce fut réussi, n’importe quelle foule comme clairsemée. Avec une tribune remplie d’élus ceints de leurs écharpes envoyant là aussi le message de la respectabilité bourgeoise. Pas de mobilisation de la province qui, au contraire de Paris, apporte pourtant son soutien électoral au RN, surtout pas de train ni de cars affrétés. « Regardez comme on est convenables, ce sont les « juges rouges » qui sont injustes avec nous et nous veulent du mal ».
Dans la basse-cour ravie d’être débarrassée de la candidate des couches populaires, c’était à qui soulignerait la gravité des faits reprochés, en général sans les connaître, mais en mettant en avant avec gourmandise le montant des « fonds publics » soi-disant détournés. Avant d’acclamer la décision judiciaire, en général sans l’avoir lue, la parant de toutes les vertus de la rigueur juridique et d’une impartialité irréprochable. Montrant au-delà de l’ignorance juridique et judiciaire partagée, une souveraine absence de culture démocratique. Et adoptant sans barguigner la ligne proposée par Thierry Breton à la suite de l’opération roumaine, selon laquelle les candidats qui ne plaisent pas au système oligarchique doivent être empêchés de se présenter aux suffrages de leurs concitoyens.
Un jugement au mépris du respect des principes qui gouvernent le procès pénal.
Sans revenir sur ce que nous avons déjà exposé dans les articles précédents, et en renvoyant à l’ouvrage que nous avons publié notamment le chapitre consacré à Marine Le Pen, rappelons que le jugement pose de sérieux problèmes d’interprétation constitutionnelle et de proportionnalité. En effet à propos du caractère exécutoire de la peine accessoire d’inéligibilité dont nous verrons plus bas les conséquences définitives concernant l’élection présidentielle de 2027, le tribunal a ainsi motivé : « Le tribunal prend en considération le trouble majeur à l’ordre public démocratique qu’engendrerait en l’espèce le fait que soit candidate par exemple et notamment l’élection présidentielle, voire élue, une personne qui aurait déjà été condamnée en première instance… ».
En bon français « nous avons condamné Marine Le Pen, et certes elle dispose de voies de recours qui peuvent parfaitement revenir sur ce que nous avons décidé, mais justement c’est ce que nous vous ne voulons pas. Il ne manquerait plus qu’elle puisse ainsi bénéficier des règles impératives qui organisent le procès pénal et donnent aux décisions leur légitimité. » Lesquelles règlent, il faut le marteler, existent précisément pour éviter les conséquences de la subjectivité et de la partialité dont les juges, comme tous les autres êtres humains, ne sont pas exempts. Sinon à quoi bon le formalisme de la procédure, la collégialité, le double degré de juridiction, et le contrôle du respect de la loi par la Cour de cassation.
Et tant qu’à faire pourquoi ne pas faire pire, puisque le jugement contredit frontalement la jurisprudence du Conseil constitutionnel, rappelée trois jours avant son prononcé : « Sauf à méconnaître le droit d’éligibilité garanti par l’article 6 de la Déclaration de 1789, il revient au juge, dans sa décision, d’apprécier le caractère proportionné de l’atteinte que cette mesure est susceptible de porter à la préservation de la liberté de l’électeur » avait rappelé la cour suprême. Le tribunal de Paris ne s’est pas gêné pour faire exactement le contraire !
Mesure-t-on à la lecture de cet extrait, que le tribunal refuse précisément l’application de ces règles dans le seul but d’empêcher Marine Le Pen de se présenter à l’élection présidentielle et, horreur absolue, y être élue ? Désolé, mais cette motivation est monstrueuse en ce qu’elle heurte les principes de présomption d’innocence, de séparation des pouvoirs, d’obligation de neutralité, d’obligation d’impartialité. Et elle le fait pour des raisons d’engagement politique : « no pasaran ! » on vous dit.
Un député peut-il « détourner les fonds publics » ?
Il y a une autre question, et là on ne peut pas reprocher au tribunal d’avoir utilisé dans son zèle une jurisprudence totalement anormale de la Cour de cassation. Celle-ci, désireuse de contrôler les activités des autres pouvoirs politiques et en particulier celles des législateurs, a consacré une interprétation de l’article 432-15 du Code pénal qui viole deux principes fondamentaux, à savoir celui de la séparation des pouvoirs et celui de l’interprétation restrictive de la loi pénale.
L’infraction de détournement de fonds publics est en effet définie à l’article 432-15 du Code pénal qui précise qui est susceptible d’être poursuivis pour détournement de fonds publics : « Le fait, par une personne dépositaire de l’autorité publique ou chargée d’une mission de service public, un comptable public, un dépositaire public ou l’un de ses subordonnés… » Le parlementaire, qu’il soit national ou européen ne relève d’aucune de ces définitions.
Il est indiqué dans l’article 3 de la Constitution, que les membres du Parlement participent à l’exercice de la souveraineté nationale. Leurs missions sont décrites dans l’article 24. Ils votent la loi et contrôlent l’action du gouvernement. Par conséquent, ils ne sont rattachés à aucune administration, ne sont dépositaires d’aucune autorité publique, ne sont dotés d’aucune prérogative de puissance publique et il n’existe aucun contrôle des objectifs atteints ou non de leur mission, par une quelconque autorité, si ce n’est par le peuple souverain au moment des élections.
Pour rentrer dans l’hémicycle et instaurer un contrôle direct de l’autorité judiciaire sur un pouvoir législatif pourtant séparé, la Cour de cassation a utilisé une astuce. En considérant que le parlementaire « accomplit des actes ayant pour but de satisfaire l’intérêt général, ce qui revient à considérer qu’il remplit une mission de service public ». Sauf que l’interprétation des articles du Code pénal doit être RESTRICTIVE, et que les contorsions de ce type ne sont normalement pas admises. La Cour de cassation a en effet mis un signe d’égalité entre parlementaire et chargé d’une mission de service public. C’est une hérésie juridique. D’abord UN PARLEMENTAIRE EST UN PARLEMENTAIRE, tautologie qui se suffit à elle-même. Ensuite le concept de « service public » est une création prétorienne du Conseil d’État. Il est entré dans l’ordre juridique français où sont règlementés les grands services publics. Qui travaillent précisément sous le contrôle des juridictions administratives, qui ont la responsabilité de définir ce qu’est un service public ou pas. Elles ont d’ailleurs répondu à l’acrobatie de la Cour de cassation : « la mission d’intérêt général n’est pas inéluctablement une mission de service public alors que la mission de Service public est nécessairement une mission d’intérêt général ».
L’objectif de la mise en place par la Cour de cassation d’une telle jurisprudence, avait pour but évident la mise sous tutelle par l’autorité judiciaire du pouvoir législatif. Les parlementaires ne peuvent évidemment pas faire n’importe quoi des moyens mis à leur disposition pour l’accomplissement de leur mandat qui est un mandat POLITIQUE. S’ils s’en servent pour commettre d’autres infractions pénales prévues par le Code, ils peuvent évidemment être poursuivis. Mais l’infraction de « détournement de fonds publics » ne leur est littéralement applicable, et son utilisation par le juge judiciaire ne doit pas être le moyen pour celui-ci de s’ingérer dans la façon dont les parlementaires organisent leur travail de législateur. Il n’en a pas la compétence.
Il se l’est pourtant arrogée, et celle-ci est désormais, régulièrement utilisée pour intervenir directement dans le champ politique. Rappelons nous comment fut organisée la liquidation judiciaire de François Fillon à l’élection présidentielle de 2017, pour favoriser ainsi l’arrivée d’Emmanuel Macron à l’Élysée.
Et maintenant ?
La suite qui attend à la fois Marine Le Pen et ceux qui entendaient voter pour elle s’annonce bien sombre. Pour des raisons juridiques, judiciaires, et politiques, on voit difficilement comment la désormais liberté de l’électeur pourrait être restaurée.
Pour l’instant, la peine d’inéligibilité est immédiatement applicable, d’où la décision du préfet du Pas-de-Calais la démissionnant d’office du mandat de conseiller départemental qu’elle occupait. Elle conserve son mandat de député, le Conseil constitutionnel considérant pour ce mandat en cours, que l’exécution provisoire porte atteinte à la liberté de l’électeur. Cependant désormais Marine Le Pen ne peut se présenter à aucune autre élection tant qu’une juridiction supérieure n’aura pas, par une décision devenue DÉFINITIVE (nous allons voir pourquoi), annulant ou réformant ce point du jugement de première instance.
Marine Le Pen a donc interjeté appel devant la Cour de Paris. Elle l’a fait avec 13 sur 25 des condamnés du 31 mars. Ce qui veut dire que 12 d’entre eux sont donc définitivement condamnés et vont rester sur le quai. Immédiatement toute la classe politique et les médias se sont précipités pour considérer qu’il s’agissait là d’un aveu et que ceux-là reconnaissaient leur culpabilité. Comme d’habitude l’ignorance juridique et judiciaire au service de la politicaillerie. Mais pourquoi donc cette nouvelle décision évidemment contre-productive au plan politique ?
Parce qu’il semble bien que le Rassemblement National pense toujours que la stratégie transactionnelle avec ceux qui veulent sa mort pourra porter ses fruits. Il a été annoncé avec plus ou moins de fermeté, que l’audience d’appel aurait lieu à l’été 2026 avec l’arrêt rendu également à l’été, soit à la fin du mois de septembre. En première instance les débats avaient duré deux mois et le délibéré quatre, soit un semestre complet. Il fallait donc donner des gages pour raccourcir le processus d’appel et permettre ainsi à la justice pourtant à l’origine de la catastrophe démocratique, de se donner le beau rôle. Donc exit les petites mains, débrouillez-vous avec vos condamnations désormais définitives. Ce traitement judiciaire particulier annoncé par la présidence de la Cour et Darmanin lui-même (!!!) prend quelques libertés avec l’égalité des citoyens devant la justice. Et en particulier, pour ne prendre que cet exemple savoureux, le fait que la décision dans l’affaire du MODEM, assortie de la scandaleuse relaxe de François Bayrou, devrait être examiné la première, antérieure qu’elle est d’un an à celle du RN. Mais il est vrai que dans le foutoir institutionnel que connaît la France, si on commence à respecter les principes on ne va pas s’en sortir…
Mais doit-on comprendre que ce passe-droit bizarre, serait considéré comme un signe positif par Marine Le Pen pensant pouvoir s’en tirer et retrouver son éligibilité au mois d’octobre 2026 à six mois du scrutin présidentiel 2027 ?
On serait tenté de dire : « même pas en rêve ! ». Mais voyons cela de plus près.
Première hypothèse plausible
La Cour d’appel de Paris utilisant la jurisprudence de la Cour de cassation sur le détournement de fonds publics, entrera naturellement en voie de condamnation. Armée de la jurisprudence offerte par la Cour de cassation et de la volonté d’ingérence politique qui est désormais la marque de l’appareil judiciaire, elle le fera comme dans toutes les affaires politico-financières qu’elle a eues à connaître depuis maintenant 20 ans. C’est-à-dire qu’elle prendra une décision assortie de ses habituels motivations morales en prononçant des peines sévères. Confirmation de culpabilité, peines de prison avec ou sans sursis, et bien sûr inéligibilité. Mais pourquoi pas, soyons fou, en prenant cette fois-ci les gants de ne pas l’assortir de l’exécution provisoire. Chic se diront les ingénus, il suffit que Marine Le Pen se pourvoit en cassation, et le tour est joué, elle peut se présenter à l’élection présidentielle. Sauf qu’elle sera alors sur le plan juridique entre les mâchoires du célèbre piège à con.
Première mâchoire : en cas de pourvoi en cassation, c’est la décision d’exécution provisoire de première instance qui continuera s’appliquer ! La jurisprudence de la Cour de cassation est constante sur ce principe qui concerne d’ailleurs toutes les peines accessoires, inéligibilité comprise, prononcées en première instance. Cette jurisprudence a d’ailleurs été reprise par le conseil d’État, juge des démissions d’office préfectorales concernant les mandats locaux. Ainsi, aux termes de l’arrêt du Conseil d’Etat du 20 décembre 2019, « la circonstance que la cour d’appel (…) a confirmé la peine d’éligibilité sans l’assortir de l’exécution provisoire est, en tout état de cause, sans incidence sur la légalité de l’arrêté attaqué [déclarant la démission d’office de l’élu], dès lors que l’effet suspensif du pourvoi en cassation formé par M.A… contre cet arrêt a entraîné le maintien de l’exécution provisoire ordonnée en première instance ». Donc, en cas de pourvoi en cassation contre l’arrêt, l’exécution provisoire du 31 janvier 2025 resterait en vigueur, et Marine Le Pen serait toujours inéligible.
Deuxième mâchoire : les mêmes ingénus vont nous dire, que dans ce cas il suffit de ne pas faire de pourvoi, comme ça la décision du 31 mars 2025 ne pourrait plus s’appliquer. Sauf qu’à défaut de pourvoi la décision de la Cour prévoyant plus que probablement inéligibilité et prison ferme deviendrait définitive. Marine Le Pen restant inéligible cette fois-ci de façon définitive. Et puis, faire une campagne présidentielle avec un bracelet électronique, c’est moyen.
Deuxième hypothèse un peu fantaisiste quand même :
La proposition de loi déposée par Éric Ciotti supprimant la possibilité d’exécution provisoire des peines accessoires inéligibilité est adoptée. Outre que les chances d’adoption sont voisines de zéro, cela ne réglerait rien pour l’affaire du Rassemblement National. Et renvoie à l’hypothèse précédente. L’absence d’exécution provisoire de la peine d’inéligibilité dans l’arrêt de la Cour en application de la nouvelle loi ne réglerait rien, puisque le pourvoi maintient la décision du tribunal de première instance, et que l’absence de pourvoi donne un caractère définitif immédiat à l’inéligibilité.
Hypothèses carrément fantaisistes :
Il y en a quelques-unes. Comme par exemple, celle selon laquelle la cour d’appel soudain prise d’un réflexe démocratique, ne prononcerait qu’une peine de prison avec sursis et pas de peine d’inéligibilité. Que Marine Le Pen accepterait sans faire de pourvoi, pouvant ainsi se présenter à la présidentielle. Le problème, serait que le parquet extrêmement violent dans ses réquisitions de première instance persisterait plus que probablement et formerait un pourvoi de son côté. Retour à la case départ de la première hypothèse.
Hypothèses délirantes :
Poursuivons : prise d’une bouffée délirante la Cour se rebellerait et voudrait restaurer la séparation des pouvoirs. En refusant la jurisprudence de l’applicabilité du détournement de fonds publics aux parlementaires, elle prononcerait une relaxe. On serait assuré du « pourvoi dans l’intérêt de la loi » du parquet général afin de faire confirmer sa jurisprudence par la Cour de cassation. Le jugement du 31 mars 2025 ayant décidément la vie dure, nouveau retour à la case départ. Ou alors, lançon nous dans la science-fiction, en gratifiant les parlementaires français d’un peu de courage et adoptant avant l’audience de la Cour, une loi écartant du législateur l’application de l’article 432-15 du code pénal et supprimant la peine accessoires inéligibilité, obligeant ainsi la juridiction à prononcer une peine de relaxe rapidement définitive. Et enfin, histoire de rire, imaginons qu’Emmanuel Macron, après une décision de la Cour devenue définitive soit saisi d’un recours en grâce, et lui donne suite. Marine Le Pen récupérant son éligibilité à quatre mois du premier tour…
La messe est dite
Soyons sérieux, la messe est dite. Marine Le Pen, sauf événement incroyable et imprévisible aujourd’hui, ne pourra pas être la candidate du Rassemblement National à l’élection présidentielle. Pour des raisons juridiques, évidemment, mais aussi pour des raisons électorales et politiques. L’élection présidentielle de 2027 se passera sans le président sortant Emmanuel Macron. Ce qui veut dire que la campagne électorale visant à faire émerger les candidats au sein de chaque camp commencera très tôt c’est-à-dire probablement dès le début de l’année 2026. À ce moment-là Marine Le Pen toujours inéligible avec toutes les chances de le rester en octobre suivant. C’est-à-dire à cinq mois de l’échéance.
Le piège destiné à priver les couches populaires de leur droit de vote pour la candidate qu’elle souhaitait a fonctionné. La crise institutionnelle que nous vivons depuis l’arrivée d’Emmanuel Macron au pouvoir continue à s’aggraver avec la mise hors-jeu de Marine Le Pen et l’atonie de la société française face à cette agression.
Le Rassemblement National désormais parfaitement inséré dans le simulacre de la vie politique française en porte lui aussi sa responsabilité.

It is excellent for pointing at a boat with would be raiders/bombers/etc. and making them *really* want to not be going where your cannon is pointed from.
If you've never seen videos of these devices used to repel pirates, it gives you a good sense of their efficacy.

I believe that the Area Denial System (ADS) has not yet been sold to US Sherrif's departments, but… not for lack of trying. It is a high-power (100 kW) microwave gun. You point it at people and their skin starts heating up.
The defense sales shitheads pitch this as feeling like "the worst sunburn you've ever had" but it is more than capable of producing blisters
The LA County Sherrif's Department announced their intent to purchase an ADS weapon in 2010, but I believe it never happened.

Apparently the hoodie was distinctive, I couldn't get a sense for what he had done, but KCAL recognized him and could not hide the shit-eating grin from their voices as they described it.
A bit of water carried on behalf of federal agents by the reporters, spreading responsibility around about how federal officers are here in the crowd for good reasons.

KCAL had a very brief glimpse at another piece of 1033 Program equipment. This vehicle is probably a Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle (MRAP), another favorite of equipment transfer from DoD to local police departments.
Cops get to feel like they have a tank, the federal government gets to arm jackboots at the state/muni level. Win/win.
