@Joseph Lorenzo Hall, PhD Hmm, I've noticed something strange kind of relating to Afrinic lately. I've been seeing many phishing scams and when I do a whois using arin.net with the IP address the scam is originating from, it refers me to apnic (asia pacific NIC), and when I do a lookup there, it refers me to afrinic, afrinic identifies the owner of the IP address as computer security in New Jersey USA. First, it is odd that there is a double referral, before this I have never seen this. Second it is odd that Afrinic would list IP space being held by someone in the United States, and lately no legitimate computer security firm would be sending phishing scams to someone unknown to them.
