Last used it back when I was exposed to cpanel, and I just wanted to use the simplest option for basic mail use. They eventually removed it though as it had long stopped receiving updates. (see cpanel.net/blog/products/the-d… )

But apparently they have done some patches since then according to their github.. that's good.

Def go with the 1.5.2-svn one mentioned squirrelmail.org/download.php I guess if you do go that route.

Update 10/29/18: Great success! In cPanel & WHM version 78, we have removed SquirrelMail entirely, and we will no longer support any SquirrelMail integrations on cPanel & WHM servers. Don’t worry, though—this deletion won’t impact any end-user data.

wow, this makes me feel old because I used this so long ago… when i was still a engineer student (±20 years ago) as this was the webmail used for our student email addresses… It did work relatively well tbh

There download page still shows some SVN commands to retrieve the code!
