Had cataract surgery a month ago to replace clouded lenses so I can see again, but changed the refractive index somewhat so I need new distance glasses. Went to get setup for those but still inflammation hasn't totally settled so need to give another two weeks and try again.

Replaced the power cord on my antique Royal Power Tank canister vacuum, except the strain relief Heyco shattered when I removed the cord from it, so I've got a replacement on order, should arrive here Friday.

Built 7.2.3 kernels for all my machines, have only booted one into it so far but I've got it built for all the micro-architectures. I wish the scheduler in 7.2.x was more flexible, there is no longer any non-preempt options and even the preemption min/max times are hard wired so you can't change them without editing kernel code which because of frequent updates I am reluctant to do.

Performance has been OK but I feel it could be even better if they allowed the user to set the min and max times before preemption rather than having it hard wired to 1us and 1s respectively. On an 18 core machine it is better to let long tasks complete than to preempt them unnecessarily when other cores are idle.

Enjoying the discovery of some old bands that I was unaware of at the time or only minorly aware but really like, Throwing Muses, Belly, Breeders, and Bubblebucket being among them, the first three the vocals of Tanya Donelly, the Jangly guitar, the someone off kilter chord progressions, the rounded circular bass, don't know why but just saturate the soul, and Bubblebucket, those horn stabs are so so satisfying. Shame I missed these bands in their hay day and thus the potential for enjoying them live.
