I don't know enough about computer hardware to say with assurance but I am very confident that modern hardware is being created in such a way that modern software does not run acceptably on anything older. This is a deliberate cash grab and everyone involved should be drowned.

@mr bigot, classically trained racist It's really more a case of as hardware capabilities improve, software creators get increasingly lazy and produce more horrid bloatware.
