Since my blog is catching up with my stitching, I thought I would revisit Stella's Birds..

The inspirations are Elizabeth Goudge's book, "Gentian Hill", medieval imagery and Mountmellick embroidery.

That's quite a lot to juggle, isn't it!

@Rachel Wright I enjoy, my daughter draws and much like yours every line is intentional, I draw but my method is iterative, I start with roughing in with charcoal, then erasing and adding in details, a painful process and it completely lacks the elegance of your approach. I enjoy your ability to make such a coherent image with so few strokes, it is an economy I can't come close to realizing and also beautiful.
