n order to favor people of color, they will either 1) Have to pay pilots more to attract more in order to select by skin color, or 2) Accept lower quality applicants.

Logic dictates they won't do #1, so my prediction is after they crash a few billion dollar jets and kill a thousand or so passengers, they will nearly go under and then be acquired by another airline that has business sense.

you just can't walk up to any airline and fly or even have them to train you to fly.

You must already be a pilot with a minimum of 1000 hours. FAA requirements:
epicflightacademy.com/hiring-r…
What are the hiring requirements for United Airlines careers?

FAA Requirements:
Unrestricted FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with airplane multiengine class rating
Current FAA first-class medical certificate
FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit (RR)
Flight time requirement:
Minimum of 1,000 hours of fixed-wing turbine time

Then I see this.

A Flight Academy partnered with United. This is where the "hiring" will happen. Make it through flight school, hours and hours of flight time, pay or borrow $100k, meet the requirements, a very small percentage will get that far.

If there are Pilots of color fine, great, whatever, but it smells like Virtue Signaling.
