Excellent! We all know rapid growth = success (hey, if it works for cancer…) and, please, do ensure you sniff each and every tech bro brain fart before trying non-corporate alternatives. social.heise.de/@heiseonlineen…

Yes, the religion of growth based economics is a cancer.

The cultural disease is terminal autcollab.org/2024/11/10/heali….

The WEIRD indoctrination system makes sure that all children are indoctrinated in Homo Economicus® from a very young age, before we learn anything substantial about Gaia and the living world. This is possibly the most cruel, dehumanising, and life denying part of WEIRD cultures.

I, for one, find that the millions people I interact with directly every day here on Mastodon are sufficient for me. The extra couple millions on BlueSky aren't necessary to improve my life.
this will never be irrelevant..

are you saying that rich people shouldn't just make more money at the expense of all life on earth? how dare
@scrum @unexpectedteapot I know, right, what was I thinking :)
Well actually it is, cancer cells are essentially reverted to single cell organisms, but people interact for productive ends, not just growth for the sake of growth but growth for the sake of longer lives, better nutrition, more freedom to travel and move about, more comfortable dwellings, better education, etc. I don't know why this anti-humanist movement that seems to have started with Henry Kissinger is so fucking popular, but if you think there are too many people on the planet, eliminate yourself, leave the rest of us the fuck alone.

I'm kinda impressed with the angle there: bluesky, funded by millions in VC cash and with a dedicated pr staff has after three years reached the same numbers as the fedi, funded by the mental health of enthusiasts, and that's a fantastic success?

Maybe it could be interesting to report on that bsky's cost per user this far is way above one dollar, fedi's is a fraction of that.
