in reply to Flip_Switch š³š±šµšø • — (Shoreline, WA, USA) •@Flip_Switch š³š±šµšø Truth is we collectively, all countries but especially US, Russia, and China, possess enough destructive power to turn the world into radioactive dust. I'm hoping we are wise enough not to do so. But I don't think all the posturing benefits anyone. The BBC suggesting Russia gloats is absurd, Russia isn't a person, it's a country.
That said, the world faces an existential crisis and it's not global warming or climate change, it's starvation, because we've already used up the bulk of the economically recoverable fossil fuels and without them we can't grow or distribute the food necessary to feed eight billion.
So perhaps instead of wasting energy whether it's physical or emotional, on squabbles, we ought to collectively work towards securing sustainable energy resources in quantities actually necessary to sustain eight billion rather than squandering them fighting over dwindling returns.
