Clean Meat
So called "clean meat", basically animal meat grown from cell cultures that would allow us humans to eat the omnivore diet we are genetically accustomed to without taking the lives of other sentient beings.
On the surface it sounds like a good idea, but I've been wondering about some things. For example, cows eat grass, but a cell culture requires more raw nutrients and I wonder about the environmental impact of providing those nutrients verses providing grass for cows to eat, and I wonder what kind of waste products result verses cow excrement.
Since such meat will result in cattle not being bred and thus not even coming into existence in the first place, what will be the effect of the resulting net decrease in sentience on the planet? I think that the evolution of sentience is God's and / or the universes way of knowing itself, and I use and / or here because I believe that creator and it's creation are not so separate as people generally believe.
I believe Jesus in as much stated this when he said if we do as he commands we can be in him as he is in the Father which is to say all in one. I believe we separate ourselves from God and the rest of sentient beings when we behave in a way that is incongruent with God's will and God's will is loving, so that is to say when we behave in a way that is unloving. So I wonder if we replace all the animals we farm and then slaughter with cell cultures, thus eliminating that huge pool of sentience, will we be doing God's will or opposing it?

Did they start out with grass to make that fake meat? Or did they start with soybeans?

not only are you eliminating the cows, you are replacing the pasture, with flowers and bees and butterflies, with some sort of chemical plant. inevitably, such a factory will spew pollution of some sort, and consume resources from somewhere. a "nutrient bath" does not spontaneously arise from a laboratory.
