German chancellor Merz casually dismisses Germany's (already insufficient) #climate targets. In an hour-long talkshow interview, he was asked to complete some sentences:

Host: "That the current heat wave is a sign of climate change ..."
Merz: "... is partially true, but surely not exclusively."

Host: "That [economics minister] Katharina Reiche questions the 2045 climate target ...'
Merz: "... has something to do with a realistic view of what we can actually achieve."

@Wolfgang Lucht Yea Germans are freezing to death in the winter already, let's do even more of the same. Good plan, MORONS. A by-the-way, each year approximately 5 million people die from cold, that's about 8.5% of all deaths, and 500,000 from heat, about .5% of all deaths, so seems even from human health standard, some global heating would be beneficial.
