First I hear about EU's intention to force all browsers to accept state-mandated certificate authorities which would enable those same states to subvert TLS encryption at will. This is super dangerous and must not pass. Thanks @mozilla for the heads up!

the number of users who compile browsers themselves is ridiculously low. And then they can make it a crime to run browsers without such certificates and put you in jail. Thats what you get with evil regulators
