Thorium LFTR Reactors
There are a couple of incorrect negative assertions in this video. One, the weaponization of U233, weaponization of U233 not easy else we'd have thorium liquid salt reactors everywhere, U233 half life is too short (160,000 years) resulting in radioactivity that is too high to be readily worked with for bombs, it would irradiate everyone putting them together, and two the cost of Thorium extraction, there is enough thorium as a byproduct of rare earth production that right now it is a difficult waste to get rid of, so the need to "extract" it really won't be there for some time as there the demand for rare earth's and the thorium produced as a waste is only going to increase in the short term.
