I just want to bring attention to and express my disapproval of a new requirement that any radio emitting electronic device have an FCC ID published when it is listed for sale.

As someone who enjoys antique and vintage electronics much of which is without such, it makes the availability of old equipment less than it otherwise would be.

And I think the FCC is really stepping over their purview concerning themselves with the security of home computer electronics. Many people, myself included, do not use stock firmware and so the original security as determined by the FCC is irrelevant and even for those who is there is no reason to force it to be listed when sold, the FCC could simply maintain a public database of ID's and if you are concerned you can input the ID of your device.
