I feel the reason for the falling birth rate is in a word, Greed, particularly the greed of mega-corporate executives, the Rockefuckers of the world. It used to be, in the 50's and early 60's that a single family income was sufficient to raise a family, but after that corporate greed got to a point that, even though technological advancements and automation and improvements in farm output meant that we should be able to be even wealthier instead corporate greed sucked up all that wealth for a handful of billionaires to fly private jets and run giant yahts around the world, while the rest of us starved. This made two income families a necessity and having an income and children at the same time, not so doable for women, so here we are.
