My heart hurts so much in the absence of Lola. I know this grief is simply what happens, death is built into life, it's inevitable, but it hurts so much. I feel so terrible. I'd say "I just want to die" but I saw death yesterday and I don't want that. Neither did poor Lola.
@Nina Paley I can understand your pain. Years ago, I adopted a 12 year old cat, usually something I avoid just because you know there isn't going to be that much time, but what I didn't know is that he was infected with feline leukemia virus. His name was Monster because he was a very large grey tabby, a real gentle giant of a cat. He died from his bone marrow's inability to make blood because of it several months later. He is one of seven cats I've had in my life but by far the most loving animal I ever had. In spite of the really short time I had him, his death really hurt. I fully understand that grief.
