You raise the humidity and that grounds any airborne viruses. A MERV 16 and above filters viruses. UV-C ( 254 nm ) will destroy viruses. I lived 20+ years in a biologically contaminated house that the Navy and Homeland Security said was contaminated by a biological weapon and the person who ran the school and is an licensed engineer who taught the top people in the nation and said ours was the worst they had every heard of . Anyone who entered our house, even to just use the bathroom died. I saved my family and I learned what works and what doesn’t. This COVID-19 is a joke compared to what I was exposed to. I saw the people who went into our house urinate blood ( they showed me the toilet after they went ) , collapse on the floor bleeding, I offered for them to take what I know works and they just insisted on going to the hospital where the Doctors said their kidneys and liver were under attack and they died. I tell you that whatever COVID-19 is I have seen something that the MDs said was far worse than Strep or MRSA or anything they knew of. And I survived all of that. I have full HEPA suits that are not a joke but I tell you any face covering whatsoever is better than none if you are facing something that is deadly. That is the truth. I know because I lived in the worst environment anyone on the planet has ever lived in and I did that for over 20 plus years everyday and lived to tell. I have the photos to prove that with me covered from head to toe in sores like you would not believe and the scientific reports from all branches including an licensed Engineer Industrial Hygienist. Even the professionals died who entered.

Anything that let's you get healthy without doctors is always expensive and hard to find. I buy products from a natural health business, and they are attacked constantly with "permits" and "testing efficacy" and on and on, and they prices go up continually.

@Robert Dinse you don't stare at that nor expose yourself to the ultra violet 254 nm. This is not for body decontamination. I was using that before it was commercially available and the research is clear that if you vary the wavelength it doesn't work.

@Robert Dinse I was under the direction of the nuclear physicist who ran Charleston. SC reactors. He was a professor PhD and also was in charge of the nuclear reactors in Charleston. What I learned I studied under him and I don't read anything since I did the labs myself with MRSA, Strep and worse. I saw the results and that was data enough for me.

@Robert Dinse I told you. You do not stare nor look at the light. You may put that on your cold coils in your HVAC. You may put that in a room with a timer or a remote on off switch. I had all of the above and more. I never exposed my body to any of that light. Using your analogy a welder would have melanoma too. I repeat, I am not even in the room and or the light is contained in the cold coil box of the HVAC. You may look through UV filters of protective glass to see the light but I don't even do that. It's completely enclosed or out of sight.

@Robert Dinse What are you disinfecting? Think about it? I had to change my sheets on my bed everyday. I had to change my clothes at least twice a day and wash everything and use fresh towels. UV-C is not going to penetrate your clothes or even the hair on your head, nor your ears or nose. You may clean surfaces but you may disinfect the air using your existing HVAC with a MERV 16 filter and followed by UV-C. You do not want to expose your body to any harmful UV ( see I agree with you ). Soap and water works for that and for surfaces and for clothes and sheets etc. When it's deadly like what i lived in you keep the humidity high and you clean all the time with something that works well and you may have additional HEPA filtration in the house. But I know what I used to bathe with and my father too and I also drank that and it saved our lives. You become contaminated and you have to treat what is inside of you, as my Doctor put in his words, before it, " attacks a vital organ and you die".

@Rod Ross One area I've seen these lamps used in is public restrooms. Yes, you could disinfect the sink for example with soap and water but who is going to come in and clean the faucets with soap and water everytime someone uses them? I do not disagree with you with respect to areas where 254 nm is not going to expose human occupants, 254nm UV sources are dirt cheap 209-222 nm, not so cheap, but 222nm lamps are being used in places like operating rooms where you want to maintain sterility but people will be exposed, and as I stated, public restrooms are another place these are being used.

@Robert Dinse the problem is penetration. And 254 nm does a better job yet no UV will penetrate very far. So, if you have a bread crumbs or even soap scum or dust that is carrying the germ ( or virus ) then the UV is ineffective because the Ultra Violet waves will not penetrate though solid objects including dust. You have to clean first or use UV-C then clean and use the UV-C again which is what I did and you may use UV-C continually at the 254 nm in filtration devices including your HVAC. Now back to the topic of masks. OSHA tells you that if you get on a roof ( any roof ) you need a 5,000 lb safety line tethered to you and someplace stable. My point is that no one abides by that rule ( especially illegal aliens ) when we had roofing crews do installations ( only Americans worked for us ) . And the masks are not effective just like this article proclaims but they are better than nothing at all and that I know. If you find yourself facing a deadly virus you treat that situation like everything thing is on fire and you cover your mouth and get out pf there and if you have a mask that is better than nothing. God bless.

@Rod Ross You're not going to get infected from where the UV won't go. As far as OSHA, they've promoted all sorts of ineffective nonsense. Yes masks reduce transmission by around 2%, if you're one of those 2-in-100 that don't get infected as a result then it's worth it to you, if you're one of the 98-out-of-100 that falsely assumed you were safe because you wore a mask, oh well. When it comes to something as small as a virus, nothing is 100%, else it wouldn't have escaped from the Wuhan lab, unless it was deliberate, and we know that couldn't be, right?

@Robert Dinse And as I already said, raising the humidity grounds all airborne matter including viruses. If you test the air when it rains, the air has no viruses or molds or anything. Because the humidity causes the particulate matter to fall to the ground.
in reply to Rod Ross

@Rod Ross Yes but there are limits to the practicality of raising the humidity beyond a certain point. Certainly rain indoors would not be acceptable. I'm just going by what the studies show in terms of effectiveness in existing conditions.

@Rod Ross I find around 50% humidity to be comfortable, more than that and my sinuses stuff up. But the point that is relevant here is when I go some place in public, I have zero control over humidity or lighting, wearing a mask or not I do have control over however that has been proven to be far less effective than just staying the fuck away from people and since I trend on the anti-social side anyway, I go with that.

@Robert Dinse If you or anyone else is ever exposed to something deadly you should remove and discard everything you have on and bathe or wash and wash all your clothes you wore and your shoes too ASAP. The shoes are often overlooked and forgotten about but shoes are the worst. They are talking about masks and distancing but no mention of shoes. Shoes are carriers, You are correct, high humidity is not something you normally want inside. I am just talking about an emergency situation where you know you have a airborne biological that is deadly. I enjoy your company and if I sound mean, that is not my intention. Thanks Robert and God bless.
