in reply to verita84 • •@verita84 I for one am very happy XLibre is happening, but I am still using the Kernel based Xserver because, with Intel video hardware, it has by far the best performance.
When Wayland first came out, at first I was annoyed and concerned, because they neglected any network support. Then the Wayland on Wires project was supposed to fix that. I never got it to work, so on native kernel X I remain. At some point I may want to migrate away from Intel graphics so it would be nice to have some options, without networking, Wayland isn't it.
