ive come to the realization recently that most people, and especially most cishets, forego ever making any significant impact on culture or the community in order to settle down and have kids, and that broadly this leads to an effect where the drivers of culture are either extremely rich or extremely eccentric and lucky, with very few people per generation ever having a significant impact on life inside of, not to mention outside, their community.
and generally throughout history, in my view, this has been a choice made out of direct self-preservation (due to harsh censorship, social pressure, and punishment for ideas against the prevailing ones) or indirect self-preservation (refusing to dedicate oneself to any particular cause because doing so would detract from one's ability to procreate, provide for, and raise children.) all this is to say that i think not having kids is a life choice that predisposes one towards radical action (culturally or otherwise) and i wish more people realized the amount of autonomy they have to just go out and do things
