Omicron

Well there have been over 18,000 New cases in King County over the weekend, yet, in this last week, ZERO deaths. It is disrupting hospitals, not so much because they are overwhelmed with patients as because the staff they haven't already fired for refusing the death vax, many are positive and home isolating.

Used Car Seattle Area

My 2000 Crown Vic has gotten sick beyond the point where it's worth repairing. I'm looking for a 1996-2000 era Ford Taurus, an SHO would be really nice as I've already got one, but I'll setting for a six as I had one of those also but was destroyed by some asshole in an Impala that was too busy watching bouncing boobs around Green Lake to pay attention to the red light and rear-ended me in his '65 Impala totaling my car. His insurance, State Farm, fucked me royally only paying me $1500 for it for which I can not get a replacement. But now that my Crown Vic is dead, well not entirely dead but worn badly, front end is sloppy and I've replaced everything and it's still sloppy, fuel pump is bad, and it's been in two accidents, I'm looking for another Taurus, no longer have four kids at home so don't need a car that seats six anymore. Any suggestions for good places to look for used autos? I found my SHO in Craigslist, I paid a whole of $1500 in it but then put another $4k into bringing it back to good condition. But worth it, wonderful driver and no satellite link to follow me around or shut me down remotely. I don't want anything newer than 2000 owing to satellite link and do want something the engine and transmission at least are still serviceable and have been well maintained.

Well found myself a '97 Taurus with 66,000 miles on it. Only ding is a minor scratch over the fuel filler cover, otherwise body is 100% perfect, interior perfect and it runs like it's right off the factory floor 25 years later. They said 69,000 on the advertising but that's when it was due for it's next oil change, it had 66,000 on it, and the oil was totally clean so every indication it's been well cared for even though not driven much.

Marijuana Heart Attack Deflection

I don't know how many of you have seen some of the recent propaganda trying to blame a recent increase in heart attacks on the legalization of marijuana to deflect from Pfiezer and Moderna heart attacks, but I just watched one such presentation on Youtube and proved that what they said was complete bullshit.

The guy giving the presentation showed a graph as what happens to your heart rate if you smoke a joint, and they show heart rate at 70 bpm, shooting up to 100, and then he also says there is less oxygen available to the heart and more carbon monoxide and all these things increase your risk of dying from a heart attack 400%.

Ok, those were a couple of things easy to test. I happen to have a pulse oximeter, this is a little device you clip on a finger and it give you a little graph of your heart pulse, and has a read-out for beats per minute and a read out for your hemoglobin's oxygen saturation.

So I clipped that onto my finger, filled a pipe with some 27% THC smoke, inhaled deeply and watched the results. I started at 79bpm, 98% O2 saturation, two bowls later, I'm still hovering around 79bpm and still at 98% O2 saturation two pipe loads later. So the amount of CO I inhaled wasn't sufficient to reduce my O2 saturation to a measurable degree and 98% is reasonably good (generally you want to be between 94-100% and if I take a couple of deep breaths I can get it to 100% but generally mine hovers at about 98%). Anyway, two pipe bowls of really a pretty high grade marijuana 27% THC, and nada effect on my heart rate or O2 saturation. Thus I don't know where he got his graph but it was obviously fictional.

And Marijuana has been around a long time, and the statistics show that legalization has not resulted in huge increases of usage, 13.7 to 17.9% in surveyed adults, and one wonders if all who used admitted to it when it was illegal? So there is no way you can explain such a large surge in heart attacks to such a small percentage of increase.

Between my actual measurements discrediting his affirmations regarding heart rate and oxygen availability and simple logic, I must deduce this is just a deflection on the part of Pfiezer and Moderna to take the heat off the heart attacks the death jab is causing.

James Webb Telescope - Fully Deployed!

The James Webb telescope is fully deployed, there were so many moving parts and steps involved that it is simply amazing that this succeeded. It is now about 3/4 of the way to it's final orbit. There will still be months of calibrating before all the instruments are fully ready to do science but all the dangerous steps, things that were likely to go wrong but didn't, are complete. I can't wait for the calibrations to be completed and the telescope to start returning data. This telescope has the ability to look back to the very earliest moments of the universes existence, and thus either prove or disprove the big bang theory. I'm betting at the very least it's going to result in some substantial modifications of the understanding of how our universe came into existence. It also has the capability of doing spectroscopic analysis of the atmospheres of some exo-planets and may thus reveal the presence of extraterrestrial life. I thought it's chances of a successful deployment rather remote but it made it through that phase.

Harry Nillson

I just found out Harry Nilsson died on Dec 28th, kind of bumbed about that. Very much enjoyed some of his work, like the Land of Point, Jump Into the Fire, Coconut, and he was getting ready to do a concert and perform the Land of Point story live.

I was trying to find out if he just got recently jabbed like Betty White did just before she died. Yes she was almost 100, but getting jabbed and dying three days later is still more coincidence than I'm comfortable with. And likewise, Nilsson was 80, so might well have been natural causes.

Web Server Issues

Posted on January 7, 2022

This affected Eskimo North and customer sites as well as friendica.eskimo.com, hubzilla.eskimo.com, and nextcloud.eskimo.com.

We had a web server issue causing intermittent failure of the web server. I thought this was load related as the server is quite heavily loaded, but it did it today during a time of very light load. I was able to chase the problem down to a cronjob being run on a wordpress site automatically configured to redirect to secure mode when the certificate had expired. The cronjobs were never exiting and ran once a minute and simply piled up until memory was exhausted causing failure of other services. Normally I get automatic notifications when certificates are about to expire but did not in this instance. I’ve ordered a new certificate and commented out the cron job until it arrives and can be installed.

Omicron in King County Washington State As of 1/3/2021

Apparently Omicron really took off over the New Years weekend. Here in King County we went from 2000 new cases a day to 11,000+ in three days, but during the same time frame deaths decreased from 5 the week before to 3, no doubt as Omicron continues to displace Delta, these deaths are most likely Delta trailing deaths.

Global Warming and Car Batteries

Neither of my car batteries survived global warming this winter. (It's presently 27F just about 13 miles North of Seattle with half a foot of snow on the ground. One car gave up about two days ago, the other battery gave up tonight. So I'm stranded for the night until a service comes tomorrow to replace it in one car, then I can go and get a battery for the other car. Gotta love this global warming. It is pretty though.

@John Doe Most people with Omnicron don't have fevers, runny nose, scratchy throat, slight dry cough, and headaches the first day or two, and then a day or so of body aches, then all good. Most people with Omnicron don't suffer with aphasia or fever unlike Delta, and usually it stays in the upper respiratory tract and does not go deep into the lungs.

Omicron

Today, King County saw more than 8,000 new cases of mostly Omicron, this is 3-1/2 times the peak of Delta, yet, only 51 people are hospitalized, only 17 on ventilators, and only three deaths attributed to this wave. We don't know what percentage of these deaths are trailing Delta cases, but 3 out of 8000 puts the death rate at .036%, the annual flu is 3x more deadly than this. Still early though and still ramping up and there is always a delay between sickness and death so the final rate remains to be seen. In South Africa where the Omicron peak has passed, the death rate was around .046%, still less than half the flu. None the less, with only 51 out of 8000 hospitalized, where Delta involved almost 46% hospitalized, Omicron isn't looking like the end of the world except for big pharma profits, but they'll no doubt be able to collect on treatments for cancer, auto-immune, and heart and lung diseases that their death shots introduced for years.
