Random Rawhide Shutdowns

In case anyone else experiences random shutdowns of a fedora rawhide installation:

Rawhide installs by default with accounts 'halt' and 'shutdown' with no password, typing either 'halt' or 'shutdown' into the login prompt shuts the machine down. Delete those accounts or put a password on them if you want to use that mechanism.

@John Doe Ok, this may help, I had a Canon scanner and had difficulty finding Linux drivers for it. I was not able to find them on the US site but did find them on the Japanese site canon.jp. Back in the day it used to be possible to access websites through google translate, don't think that works anymore so navigation may be difficult unless you can enlist the help of a Japanese friend. You can still cut-n-paste each page.

@John Doe They do seem to list for some units in the US but not the one I had and apparently not yours. Since I found drivers there though it might help. The Canada and Australia sites also did not have drivers on them. Can't help but wonder if Bill Gates paid them to not list Linux drivers. Not that I'm paranoid or anything but give that he's paying everyone to depopulate the world...

ReBCO (Rare Earty Barium Copper Oxide) SuperConductors and Controlled Fusion

This video addresses ReBCO superconductors as applied to controlled hydrogen fusion, and this test magnet achieved twice the field strength of traditional superconductors (20 tesla verses 10 for older super conductors) but since this experiment, twice that, 40 tesla has been achieved. The significance of this is that fusion plasma confinement scales with the cube of the magnetic field strength, so a 4x improvement in field strength results in a 64x (4x4x4) improvement in confinement. This allows very small and cheap reactors to be built which in turn substantially reduces both the time and expense of design iterations.

I wish we had a few hundred Ted Cruz's and Paul Rand's.

Actually I have a slight problem with this video. Because it gives me the impression that they don' t have a clue about how very high the level of criminality of this man is. The worst crimes man can possibly imagine, and beyond. Here' s the tip of the tip of the iceberg in the second half of this video odysee.com/@NearDeathExperimen…

Hardware Recommendation

I'm looking to put a new web server together for my friendica, hubzilla, and nextcloud nodes. Currently it's on an i7-6850K based machine clocked at 4.2 Ghz, 6 cores, 12 threads, 128GB RAM.

I am planning on an i9-10940x based system, 14 cores, 28 threads, 256GB (the increased memory is needed most but more CPU won't hurt either) and reportedly over-clockable to 5Ghz IF I can find adequate cooling and there in lies the rub.

Looking for recommendations for a AIO liquid cooler that can dissipate 500 watts and keep the block at or below 84C, that can last more than six months. I've found a unit that can dissipate this much heat but the reviews says it is prone to corrosion and garbage after six months. I want something that will give years of uninterrupted service, server class.

Also looking for an inexpensive GPU non-Asus that works well with Linux, does not need to be fast, won't be doing gaming, this is just to provide a head on the server when I'm on site. Won't be playing video games so don't need 300 fps or 3D graphics of any speed.
