@HuFool I'm not opposed to change, I am opposed to bad change. I would welcome MORE energy supplies lifting those in poverty out of poverty, I would welcome SANE clean energy sources such as molten salt thorium or actinide breeder reactors, fusion reactors, and geothermal, that are reliable and don't do more destruction to the environment than what they replace.
I don't welcome killing existing energy sources when there are no viable replacements ready plunging millions or billions in to poverty and early death.
I would welcome plants that take this thorium generated electricity and seawater, turn it into liquid hydrocarbon fuels, all of the carbon of which comes from carbolic acid in the oceans which are dissolved CO2 from the atmosphere, to replace hydrocarbons drilled from the depths of the Earth, and most of these alternatives exist.
If "climate change" were the real motivator, we would use them, but it isn't. The real motivator behind this bullshit is creating artificial scarcity to drive up prices, make the producers more profitable and concentrate even more wealth and power into the elite one percent.
… the attempt to make heaven on earth invariably produces hell. It leads to intolerance. It leads to religious wars, and to the saving of souls through the inquisition. And it is, I believe, based on a complete misunderstanding of our moral duties. It is our duty to help those who need help; but it cannot be our duty to make others happy, since this does not depend on us, and since it would only too often mean intruding on the privacy of those towards whom we have such amiable intentions.

Doesn't make much sense to create hell on purpose because attempting to create something better MIGHT result in it. But I'm not part of the WEF advocacy crowd, not into things like eating bugs, freezing to death, being restricted in movement, etc.
Not at all. Is the contrary. If you take care about something nobody hurts, if you just mess something and don't care about your shit someone dives in it.
Is it satisfactory to you that loking elsewhere you just don't see that?
@HuFool If I support efuels or the solution of the French company MDI "Airpod" because I realise that this technology is better suited to protect the environment than e-cars and have to realize that the #NAZI ban these better solutions to serve their oligarchs, then who is the one who watches everything getting worse?
@Nanook there ARE restrictions on what you can own. You can't own human beings. You're not free to use nuclear energy in your garden. This bullshit about "freedom" is just at the crossroads of egotism and fascism.
Your freedom goes only as far as it doesn't precludes others'. Now if your "freedom" is destroying the ability of billions to live a normal life, this isn't "freedom", this is pillaging, or imperialism, or oppression; not "freedom".
Now if your “freedom” is destroying the ability of billions to live a normal life? The climate The climate hysteria with its CO2 church suppresses the freedom of millions of people! It is zealots like Greta Thunberg who, against all scientific reason, rob and destroy the livelihood of millions.
This isn’t “freedom”, this is pillaging, or imperialism, or oppression; not “freedom”.
@Günter your "normal life" isn't normal if it isn't physically possible to extend it to the whole world population. (Hint: it isn't). It's just that you don't want to rescind any of your privileges and habits. There's a name for this : egoism. That's quite natural, but nothing to boast about.
@Emmanuel Florac When you don't like an opinion, you call people selfish because you can't give a reason. That is shabby and very transparent. Individuality is only possible if a way of life is not physically extendable to the whole world. How absurd is that? - In any case, it is not a meaningful justification.

You cited Popper Out Of Context.
t is a book about society: He was talking about about society not about of ecology!

I agree with Popper on his argument, and deeply disagree on any fictious argoument by anyone who wants simply do nothing about ecology. Is it you?
