No shit Sherlock!
Europeans say they fear a rising dependence on American energy even with a Jan. 1 deadline to end liquefied natural gas imports from Russia.
American producers now supply about two-thirds of European liquefied natural gas, a share that could rise to as much as 80 percent by the end of the decade.

If you want to take responsibility for the American Globohomo Imperial Regime - I guess go ahead ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
> you've got no problem
But I sure as hell ain't the EU
> yea it's definitely our fault.
Well the way I see it, you've got a whole bunch of countries all basically punching themselves in the head. And then you've got a handful of countries that seem to be more-or-less looking after their own interests - and For Some Reason those are the exact countries that the goons in DC are all real excited about LiBeRaTiNg. So you'll forgive me for suggesting that PERHAPS all of these insane, dumb, self-defeating policies are actually being demanded by Washington.

2. Which of all the conflicts?
The US is always involved in conflicts; the US is constantly seeking out and creating conflicts in order to maintain its global hegemony.
No country attacks the US; the US has attacked dozens of countries.

I don't think it's entirely organic, I think there are some parties driving it, and benefitting from conflict. (interestingly the Russians just hit a drone and weapons expo west of Kiev the other day, not sure if that counts as love or hate) ...
But, yeah, I have seen a suggestion that HVDC conduits could be made out of metallic sodium, since it is the cheapest conductive material on a per-electron basis. It reacts violently, but of course anything carrying 100,000 volts at 100 amps will be violent if you interrupt it. But all a (suicidal) terrorist would have to do is make a hole in the insulation and the whole line would self destruct.
Ordinary copper conductors are being stolen by thieves .. and I expect the destruction of surveillance cameras to become a sort of national sport in the medium-term future. And train tracks and oil/gas pipelines are being attacked in Ukraine. They don't even have a lot of respect for nuke plants.
So, no, no globe-spanning HVDC networks for you!

Could not agree more, there are the obvious surface level benefactors, the military intelligence industrial complex, but they've been around forever.. I can't help but think of Klaus Schwab's 2016 speech in which he stated, "You'll own nothing and be happy", I think what he really meant was, "We'll own everything, you'll own nothing, and we'll be happy", but beyond that he outlined a future of basically enforced impoverishment which he seemed to feel were necessary for the planet to survive long term.
I agree with him that our current path, even before all the wars broke out, was / is suicidal as a species but I see much better ways forward that what he envisioned, still I am not completely convinced that those same actors he was speaking for aren't carrying out their agenda towards depopulation and intentional poverty.
With respect to HVDC lines, we are talking voltages upwards of 1.2 megavolts, to distribute electricity globally with even 50% efficiency these are the kinds of voltages required, and generally on towers far higher than thieves are going to climb and if they did they'd be so much human BBQ. The conductors for these lines are generally a steel core with aluminum conductors wrapped around them.
