#Microsoft recently wrote that TPM 2.0 is a "a non-negotiable standard for the future of Windows." This pretty much confirms it won't back down on its hardware requirements for Windows 11, an OS that is seriously struggling to gain new users (~35% of Windows users) after 3 years.

When October 2025 rolls around and support for Windows 10 ends, this will force tens of millions of people to unnecessarily buy new hardware.

#Linux community: We have work to do.

there, I fixed it for you :)

In all seriousness, I think we need to just tweak our messaging a little bit around that event. Instead of saying that Microsoft is forcing people to buy new hardware, let's say that they're forcing people to move to Linux. Because this is the easiest and most ethical path, and also the cheapest, which (gestures "in this economy?") matters for a lot of people.

I made my father switch to xubuntu (his computer is >10yo) about a year ago. He’s 65 and always struggled with computers. Early in october called me because he had trouble with it. I was very anxious about it because he lives ~500km from me. But then a couple of weeks later he called me back : he found someone to help him out and fix the issue. For me that’s the best proof that it’s a completely viable option for those kind of usecases now.

Stop blaming #Microsoft for the critical, remotely exploitable, #vulnerabilities in the #CPUs themselves. There are known #hardware #critical security #flaws in both #Intel and #AMD CPUs that can not be patched. Microsoft didn't cause this "#e-waste". Intel and AMD did. The #TPM 2.0 requirement at least helps prevent credential theft. The same #credentials that can be used to #ransomware a PC or steal your money from your bank. Installing #Linux does fuck-all to mitigate the vulnerabilities and provides nothing more than a false sense of security to people.

More context:
It's estimated that a staggering 240 million PCs currently running Windows 10 aren't "capable" of upgrading to Windows 11.

As you know, those PCs can easily run any flavor of #Linux. It's a massive opportunity to get people away from Windows (and its increasing invasion of privacy), AND prevent literal tons of e-waste.

@mookie@shumai.xyz Maybe after a couple more are killed. If anybody wants to kill a couple more CEOs I sure as shit won't stand in their way. There's a couple of bank CEOs that have fucked over a few people and have definitely ruined some lives. Hopefully they're a little scared right now.

Perhaps companies and CEOs should take this time to reflect on why they should be afraid, what is causing the public to look so disapprovingly at them and, most of all, how they can change themselves.

Treating the murder of the United Healthcare CEO the same way society treats violence against trans people:

- He was shot just walking into work? I mean what did he expect with his risky lifestyle choices.

- You know CEOs have a really high rate of suicide. If he just had a normal job he would probably still be alive today.

- Extra security? I just don't think we should pander to the whims of a group that's less than 1% of the population.

- I don't hate CEOs I just hate how the right keeps pushing their agenda down my throat.

- OMG stop talking about CEOs, what am I going to tell my children?

- The shooter probably just panicked when he found out he was really a CEO in disguise. It's his fault he was murdered really.

Small business #LLC's owners take note of this.

The requirement to file a report to BOI for FinCEN about your LLC has been ruled #Unconstitutional by a Texas Federal District Court.

A Nationwide injunction has been placed on this burdensome law.

TL;DR: They tested the genome of all the bat viruses that were in the Wuhan labs in 2021 and found that none are related to the Covid-19 one. Meaning that we have one more proof that Covid-19 did not "escape from a lab".

Over the past few years, many people have unfortunately become more dependent on streaming media. But it's important to remember how streaming services can deprive you of important rights. Dis-services like Disney+ and Netflix mandate the use of a hardware-level backdoor called Widevine, giving them permanent access into deep components of your machine. Try video sites like the Blender Open Movies project instead.

"Why are we paying so much attention to Silicon Valley pump-and-dumps and ignoring all this incredible, potentially planet-saving, real innovation?"

"Climate tech is unselfish tech. It’s a gift to the future and to the broad public. It shares its spoils with workers. It requires public action. By contrast, Silicon Valley is greedy tech that is relentlessly focused on the shortest-term returns that can be extracted with the least share going to labor."

This surprised me. Do Democrats not really know what they have been doing for years?

WASHINGTON—The House on Dec. 6 passed the Crucial Communism Teaching Act with a vote of 327–62. The bill, introduced by Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar (R-Fla.) and cosponsored by 33 members of the House, seeks to address a gap in the education system related to the history of communism.
“Communism is one of the most destructive political ideologies the world has ever seen,” Rep. Salazar said when reintroducing the bill earlier this year.
“The Crucial Communism Teaching Act is important because our youth must remember the crimes of the communists, including those inflicted upon my constituents and their families in Florida’s 27th district.”

She first introduced the bill in September 2021, but it was not brought up for a vote at that time.

Specifically, the bill seeks to educate American students that “communism has led to the deaths of over 100,000,000 victims worldwide,” and that “1,500,000,000 people still suffer under communism.”

Hey, have you seen this? Elon Musk is trying to pump £78m into Nigel Farage’s Reform party, meaning he’d effectively be buying control of British politics. He might have gotten away with it in America, but we can’t let it happen here. Let’s stop him. Sign here: 38d.gs/ProtectDemocracyFromBil…

The media seems so keen on Ozempic etc - but IMO it seems weird that people have to routinely inject a medication with unpleasant side effects simply to counteract the unhealthy food environment which capitalism has created.

And this is a perfectly normal, long-term viable thing? Waiting for the other boot to drop, as it usually does with these miracle cures.

I recently had a doctor use that I would likely spend less on food as a rational for why a VERY expensive, non-PBS drug similar to Ozempic might be worth it.

I wish people would stop treating ozempic as a miracle drug. It doesn't guarantee weight loss. I took it for its intended purpose. While it did help with my blood sugar I lost no weight at all

Hello from Mike Lindell!

The Deep State came VERY CLOSE to stealing Senate victory from Dave McCormick in Pennsylvania.
HUGE VICTORY FOR LOF!
But thanks to LOF and our allies, we ousted entrenched establishment Democrat incumbent Bob Casey and flipped that crucial seat from blue to red!
YOUR DONATIONS SAVED THE 2024 ELECTION! WE HAVE JUST WEEKS TO SECURE mid-term elections!

How did we pull off this major upset? Dr. Doug Frank PROVED it was NOT because of ballot chasing, early voting or making this “too big to rig.” Millions of dollars and countless man-hours on these strategies only resulted in a slight 3% bump in Republican voter turnout from 2020 vs. 2024. The corrupt machine criminals can EASILY flip enough ballots to overcome that!

What made the difference in PA and other swing states was CHANGES IN ELECTION LAW. That’s why Dr. Frank and the LOF team have focused on getting them in place WELL BEFORE 2024 to thwart machine ballot rigging. This time, new state laws required the PA election commission to keep counting with no pauses. They required a public account of all mail-in ballots so they were prevented from adding more “late night” ballots because we knew the number from the beginning. We are very proud of Dr. Doug Frank, Toni Schuppe of Audit the Vote PA and our own Karen Taylor of Cause of America, for getting this critical legislation passed.
