Hubzilla AdOnns Beta Worker
We had an issue with hubzilla workers getting stuck in some kind of loop driving our web server load very high resulting in service denials. I've reverted to the standard worker and so far things have behaved more normally.

Maintenance Completed
We have installed ioFusion flash drive and device driver and utility software, configured the drive and moved the database to it. Where we used to max at about 400 TPS, I've seen it spike as high as 2923 and not get bogged down at all. So hopefully communications with other nodes will be more reliable.

Maintenance
We will be taking hubzilla.eskimo.com and friendica.eskimo.com down for some maintenance in about an hour and fifteen minutes. This is to install a special flash memory card which supports atomic writes to speed up MariaDB which is maxing out during heavy traffic periods.
I came across them when I was reading a lot about the situation with wild horse roundups. I have donated through them, they seem to be legitimately helping.

you have option to convert your [any] truck to electric. all you need is get some super-caps and electric motor. i'll show you how to keep them self-charged in any moment of time. but problem is only 1 of 100 will say "i'll do it" (and only 1 from 1000 maybe really do something but not keep sitting on computer and next 15 minutes even forget about) but another 99 will found just in three seconds thousands random reasons do not do it. just because too lazy. they will prefer keep posting memes.

Need PCIe SSD with Atomic Writes for MariaDB
I recently turned up a Hubzilla in addition to the Friendica Fediverse social media site here. Sunday it seemed to be okay but come Monday the server was seeing loads of around 150 or so at which point a number of web apps turned themselves off. Also it was exhausted on connections which made many peoples WordPress sites break.
After much fine tuning I’ve gotten MySQL to handle a touch over 400 transactions per second, but occasionally hubzilla spikes higher than that and the load will temporarily rise.
After doing some research on MariaDB and tuning it as best I could, now load only goes up to about 8 as opposed to 150, but virtually all waiting processes are waiting on DIsk I/O at that point so it appears that peaks are saturating the drives I/O capability. Already this is on a 4-disk RAID 10 array with everything pretty finely tuned.
Researching I am finding most people are not getting much better than 400 TPS on rotary drives and perhaps 500 TPS with M.2 SSD drives, but with a PCIE SSD drive that supports atomic writes, up to 1500 TPS has been obtained.
So I am searching for same but not having much luck. I can find lots of M.2s but can not find PCIE drives. When I search I only find PCIE SSD adapters, not what I need.
Does anybody know where I can source these and who makes them, perhaps some make and model numbers?

Maintenance
I am going to be taking our webserver down at midnight to backup and then to repartition the disk so that I can create a separate partition for mariadb tables so I can better optimize it for performance. This is pacific standard time. It may be down for several hours.
Well the tuning I did on MariaDB was definitely worthwhile. My Wordpress site now loads in 245ms, and the system load is staying reasonable even at 400 tps.

New Federated Social Media Hubzilla
We’ve added a new federated social media platform called “Hubzilla“, hubzilla.eskimo.com/. It is similar to Friendica friendica.eskimo.com/ in that it is a federated social media platform but it has many more capabilities including channels that are similar to groups or blogs or user pages in Facebook but federated across the entire fediverse grid, although not all fediverse servers like friendica support all the features of hubzilla. It is considerably more complex however it is well documented online. Discovery of both users and resources such as channels is much easier and faster than it is with friendica and in my view the layout is somewhat nicer.

I installed a Hubzilla instance tonight in addition to friendica, hubzilla.eskimo.com/ but I do not think I have it configured right. I can find other profiles on other hubs and other channels but no messages come across and when I try to view public stream it says, Public Stream App (Not Installed): The unmoderated public stream of this hub, but in the list of add-ons there is no Public Stream App and I do not know how to install it.
@Slim Shady Yes it is open but there are minor things like only the default theme works, etc. But it is basically operational. It is at hubzilla.eskimo.com/

Kernel Upgrades affecting Friendica.eskimo.com
I will be doing kernel upgrades, both on the virtual host and physical hardware, upon which friendica.eskimo.com/ is hosted tomorrow evening (Friday February 19th) between 11pm and midnight Pacific Standard Time. Service will be interrupted while servers reboot.
Tickless Kernels
5.10.17 and 5.11 tickless kernels are now available:

There is both a "client" and "server" version of each. The client version is compiled to be fully preemptive and with a 1000HZ clock for minimum latency. The server version is non-preemptive and with a 100HZ clock for maximum thruput.
There are three deb files for each, download all three and install with:
dpkg -i *.deb
