"I was listening to the news this week when one of the anchors said that we needed to put the 137,000 people dead in four months with covid 19 into context so people can understand.
He said to imagine those 137,000 dead people were airline passengers, all dying from airplane crashes.
Losing 137,000 people in four months would be equivalent to 50 planes a week crashing, for four months, with all on board dying.
50 PLANE CRASHES A WEEK. For four months. All on board, DEAD.
He said if planes were falling out of the sky at a rate of 50 per week, not only would people be horrified, but they would expect something to be done. The government wouldn’t be shrugging their shoulders and acting like it was no big deal.
I thought this was a great way to put it. No one would or could ignore that. No one would call it a hoax. No one would question the “science”. No one would ignore it for four months. People would want answers, and they would be afraid to get on a plane until something was done. People would say "planes are crashing around us and no one is taking it seriously.”
This is 171 people per plane, 50 times a week.
Let that sink in."

We ban whole hosts of substances that can cause cancer even though that effects businesses bottom lines. There are all sorts of laws and safety regulations to reduce traffic deaths even though that means people can drive their cars as fast as they want and increases the cost of making a safe car. We banned smoking in public businesses across the country (US) because of Asthma and cancer.
So don't try to say that we don't change how we function, even at the cost of personal convenience and business profits, to protect people's lives.

Finally, I know of no hospitals that have been overwhelmed. The two hospital ships that Trump sent to New York and somewhere on the west coast treated close to zero patients. And hospitals have been closing. a42.com/pg/s/wiki/health/covid… offers some clues.

In Riverside, Queens, far too many arrived DOA...
Oh, and if the dead or dying have the Covid-19 antibody...guess what, that means they died of Covid-19
...it's a marker.

If I have Cancer but I die from a heart attack caused by chemotherapy, Cancer is still listed as being related to my death. If he had a heart attack and crashed his motorcycle then heart attack would be his cause of death.
And even if it isn't true, one idiot ticking the wrong box on a form doesn't mean there's a not local, not statewide, not countrywide, but globalwide conspiracy between multiple agencies and governments (many of who are antagonistic to each other) to some how mysteriously all work together to make up a virus and go around murdering people to make it look legit so that they can hurt their own economies.

in reply to Jess Nut • •Or, put another way, there was a huge incentive to check the covid-19 box. I think the numbers of real covid-19 deaths vs. BS is out on a42.com. The current CDC "admission" is that only about 6% of those claimed to be covid-19 deaths really were. A very big difference.
I also pointed out that proper treatment (for example, using HCQ and zinc which is very inexpensive) pretty much eliminates covid-19 deaths if given early enough.
Bottom line: yes, covid-19 exists, it was likely "fabricated", and people can die from it -- just like other kinds of flu -- but, private profit and politics created the big issue.

The whole thing was a complete wasted effort. Of course, the ship also went to Puerto Rico after the hurricane. And they didn’t bring on patients. And OF COURSE, Trump bragged about sending the ship in and then claiming that New York
“refused to send patients”, a patent, bald-faced lie.
