Fusion - What ALL existing approaches are missing... Help me think through a thought.

I think the majority of these private approaches, Helion included, are nothing more than investment scams. Get investors to invest money in you so you can spend it on things you want to.

I am convinced there is a major issue with ALL existing fusion schemes, ALL of them are working on a brute force approach, well save for "condensed matter fusion", otherwise known as "cold fusion", which while real does not seem capable of generating commercially useful amounts of energy, is that they are ALL relying on brute force.

There is a work-around to creating reactions in which there is a large energy barrier to be overcome but the end result is a lower energy state resulting in the release of energy, and that is what is known as quantum tunneling. There is no need to exceed the energy barrier IF you can quantum tunnel through it.

In chemistry we accomplish this by the use of a catalyst which can reduce the energy requirements by a factor of a trillion or more. There must be a nuclear analog akin to a catalyst chemically. There is muon catalyzed fusion but that's not workable because it takes too much energy to create muons and they don't hang around long enough.

I'm just posting this somewhat incomplete thought it hopes it might trigger a solution among all the brainiacs out there. And yea from all the LGBQxyz+ posts I know brainiacs are a minority but it only takes one workable solution.

Kernel Upgrade Tonight 11PM PDT (GMT-0700)

I will be performing a kernel upgrade of all Eskimo North servers starting at 11PM tonight, I expect to conclude by 11:30PM. If all goes well, no individual service should be down for more than about ten minutes, most fewer.

This will include shell servers, e-mail, web hosting, and fediverse services including friendica.eskimo.com/, hubzilla.eskimo.com/, nextcloud.eskimo.com/, and yacy.eskimo.com/.

Queen Elizabeth II Dead at 96

Perhaps this will serve as a warning to Klaus Schwab and company, no matter how many children you sacrifice, you've sold your soul, and you are not and will not be immortal, Satan will collect on his purchase.

Vera Lynn - We'll Meet Again (featured in the closing scene of Dr. Strangelove)

I'm kind of wondering if Klaus Schwab is related to the general in this film, the purity of essence guy.

Vera Lynn, who performed this song originally in 1943, used in the film Dr. Strangelove, went on to sing this on the 50th anniversary of the Allied Victory in World War II, at age 87, and still sounded just like she did in her youth. She lived to a ripe old age of 103 and a few months.

Beach Boys

My wife and I attended a Beach Boys concert at the Puyallup Fair tonight. It was so much more than I expected, so beautiful, totally brought me to tears. I had expected a handful of eighty year old guys to at best perform octave downshifted renditions of tunes they could no longer sing, I was overwhelmed by their performance, every note true, harmonies just as always. They put on about a two hour show, and were ever so gracious to each other and the audience. It was just a wonderful time.

Kernel Upgrades Friday Sept 9th 11pm PDT (-0700GMT)

The release candidate kernel, 6.0.0-rc4 is working better than any kernel I’ve ever used to date, better than the last three stable releases by far in terms of performance, stability, and security. I’ve got it running on four of our busiest servers presently, and unlike 5.19.x it has not produced any CPU stalls or OOPS and runs even faster and this with all the known reptoline mitigations in place. 5.18 was stable but unusable owing to the kernel spending more time in system than user space, 5.19 remedied this but introduced some nasty instabilities, but 6.0rc4 appears to fix everything.

So if it continues to run clean on those servers, we will be upgrading the remaining servers to 6.0.0rc4 (or rc5 if it comes out between now and then) on Friday September 9th, starting at 11pm and should finish by about 11:30pm Pacific Daylight Time (-0700 GMT).

This will affect all Eskimo North services including friendica.eskimo.com/, hubzilla.eskimo.com/, nextcloud.eskimo.com/, yacy.eskimo.com/, and our own website and related services at eskimo.com/ as well as virtual private servers, shared hosting, and Linux shell servers. I do not expect downtime to be more than about ten minutes on any one service.

Thorium LFTR Reactors

There are a couple of incorrect negative assertions in this video. One, the weaponization of U233, weaponization of U233 not easy else we'd have thorium liquid salt reactors everywhere, U233 half life is too short (160,000 years) resulting in radioactivity that is too high to be readily worked with for bombs, it would irradiate everyone putting them together, and two the cost of Thorium extraction, there is enough thorium as a byproduct of rare earth production that right now it is a difficult waste to get rid of, so the need to "extract" it really won't be there for some time as there the demand for rare earth's and the thorium produced as a waste is only going to increase in the short term.

Ravel - Bolero

One of my favorite classical pieces, I was introduced by a film called Allegro Non-Troppo at an International Film Festival many decades ago. Later also used in "Ten" and what could have fit Bo Derek better?
