So far there have been incidents of neurological damage with Pfiezer, Moderna, Astra-Xenica, and Johnson and Johnson vaccines.
Further, 1/3rd of people who recover from Covid-19 have some degree of neurological damage.
This leads me to believe some part of the spike protein being expressed by the virus itself and by the vaccines MUST either directly be responsible for this neurological damage or results in the immune system doing neurological damage. There isn't much else in common with the virus itself and all four vaccines.
It seems the appropriate course of action is to determine what aspect is causing this damage and eliminate it from the vaccines before condemning more people to this damage.
I think the problem is in the spike protein itself. did no one think such a biomolecule might be toxic?
all the vaccines contain genetic code for the spike. and the Novavax does not contain an RNA molecule, but consists mostly of purified spikes. I haven't heard anything about it, perhaps it never got EUA. AFAIK a vaccine for no other disease does this --
spikes are like little spring loaded harpoons that respond to some stimulus (ACE2) and then open up and stab a little hydrophobic end into the cell membrane. after that undergoes another conformational change that pulls the viral envelope and cell membrane together, merging their contents. various other viruses do similar things -- the syncytia viruses cause neighboring host cells to stick together with such spikes.
I suspect it is the spikes doing this damage -- the vaccine does not make virus particles but just loose spikes circulating in the blood. (and blood clots can account for a lot of secondary damage)

Listening to CBC radio, they are telling people to wear sunscreen. 99% of people who end up in the ICU with Covid-19 are vitamin D3 deficient. Vitamin D3 is mostly made in the skin in response to UV light. This is NOT the time for sunscreen.
Unfortunately, the climate and latitude of Canada makes the sun kind of tricky. We just had 6-8 months of winter where your skin has turned white from no sun and wearing clothes. Now you want to be outside so much that it causes a sunburn pretty easily. Going from 0-100 is not fun for your body.

It was not a clean upgrade. Grub got corrupted on one machine, one server didn't properly export the exports until I manually restarted the nfs server. There were quite a few broken NFS mounts. So, some things were back up at 11:16, and the broken systems were gradually restored with restoration completed at 12:07.
I plan to upgrade kernels on all the servers tonight starting at 11PM Pacific Daylight Time. Upgrades should be concluded by midnight. This will result in outages lasting 10-20 minutes for each physical server and perhaps another ten minutes for virtual machines on that server depending upon whether NFS and NIS properly bind after reboots or not.
