@Harka Yep will there are good alternatives, Odysee and peertube. There is also brandnewtube.com but for some reason Friendica does not scrape the video from it properly. I'm staying away from peertube at the moment because I don't have my own node so don't know when a given node might go away but I intend to fix that shortly after I have a new server put together.

Can't help you there, unfortunately. But as a simple alternative, consider using the browser plugin, which does the same thing. Perhaps on a virtual machine with desktop, where you can leave it open all day.
@Harka I did not want to run this at my home but rather at the co-lo facility on one of my servers. I've figured out what module is missing, and for some reason it's not included with Ubuntu distro so I'll either need to find a Golang PPA or compile it myself.
@Harka Well it gets deeper. According to the snowflake website, golang 1.13+ should work, but 1.17 does not, and thinking perhaps Ubuntu corrupted it, I downloaded from the golang website and md5sum of the module involved completely agrees with Ubuntu's version so there is something broken. I tried to login to community.snowflake.com but I never receive the confirmation mail. I checked my mail servers to make sure we aren't rejecting them for some reason but they aren't even attempting delivery. I've used the contact us form to relate my troubles to them, hopefully I will hear from someone there in my lifetime.
