New Capability for Private Virtual Servers

We now offer cockpit control panel for our virtual private servers if they are a debian derived system such as debian, ubuntu, mint, mxlinux, zorin, julinux, etc.

I’ve been down on control panels in general for security reason but this one looks good as it does not require any special privileges and only gives the user access they would have logged into a shell in terms of permissions. Permissions can be elevated in the same way they could from a shell, so if a user is in a group such as admin, they get the access that goes with it in cockpit. The only issue is you are still using a web browser which may or may not be secure and your machine may or may not be sure but that issue exists with ssh access or x2go as well.

If you would like this installed on your Virtual Private Server initiate a support ticket with your request.

FreedomBox and Stuff

Been messing around a bit with freedombox after seeing Mudflaps post on it.

I am really impressed. What freedombox basically is, it is a pre-configured server setup based upon debian bullet and cockpit control panel and apache2 webserver.

It is very minimalized of overhead bullshit that normally is included in a debian distribution, as a result the entire image is 3.7GB and only about half of that space is used by default, but it has all the normal debian based package management and you can install anything from bullet onto it.

I discovered to my amazement and sheer delight that the disk image format used by these single board computers is EXACTLY THE SAME as that used by kvm/qemu SO I can install this and have in a kvm/qemu virtual machine and by extension anything else meant for these single board computers.

I immediately expanded the disk image to 50GB and then expanded the file system to 42GB so I could have a dedicated swap partition and install a bunch of software that didn't come packaged with it, like x2go server for remote desktop access and the mate desktop.

I continue to be amazed though at how well they shaved off the bullshit, a single terminal session running consumes only 297k of memory total! Debian itself runs only marginally on a 1GB virtual machine but this runs totally smooth, and with 4GB and 12CPUs it absolutely screams.

False Flag NYC April 18th?

They are predicting a false-flag operation in New York City on April 18th?
Will it happen, well like anything on the Internet highly unlikely but if it does, this being here prior to that date will prove it to be what it is.

Nazism in the Ukraine

Someone else posted this video except they used a link to youtube and youtube had marked the video as for over 21 only, consequently this would not allow it to be embedded or displayed unless you are over 21 and actually logged in to Youtube.

During the time I was looking for an alternate source, the original post scrolled to the point where I could no longer locate it, I was just going to add a link, so I apologize to the original author for the lack of proper credits.

Because the perpetrator was black this normally would not have gotten media coverage at all save for it being an "assault weapon" used. Never mind the fact that less than 1% of all gun shootings involve rifles and less than 10% of those "assault weapons", but hey the Libtards have an agenda.

#Suzuki #Samurai #4x4

>On April 21, 2007, the Chilean duo of Gonzalo Bravo and Eduardo Canales drove their modified Suzuki Samurai (SJ413) past the previous record set by a Jeep at 6,688 meters, setting a new record for the highest altitude attained by a four-wheeled vehicle.

>In addition to wheel, tire, and suspension changes, the Samurai packed a supercharged G16A 4-cylinder underhood. It was the third attempt for the pair, who encountered weather difficulties the first time and an engine fire the second time. Repairs were made, and on the third try they successfully reached the objective. One of the things the previous record holders, Matthias Jeschke’s team, did when they arrived at their high point, using a Jeep Wrangler, was to leave a sign that read, “Jeep Parking Only: All others don’t make it up here anyway.” In a cheeky move, Bravo and Canales came down the volcano with a little extra souvenir that was lying on the ground after the strong winds.

This Record was duly Certified by the Guinness World Record on July 2007.

I Fucking HATE Comcast!

I sent the following to their advertised customer care e-mail address of We_can_help@cable.comcast.com:

I pay around $250/month for 40mb/s service and two telephone lines. I would think that would entitle me to some facsimile of service but that does not seem to be the case. I've had your service for approximately ten years and in that time my modem/router has been replaced at least that number of times.

It seems that all I get when I call 1-800-391-3000 is screeners intent on dismissing rather than fixing the problem and whom have ZERO technical knowledge, script readers who go through some procedure that is totally inappropriate for the problem at hand and which provides NO resolution and if I manage to get one of them to admit there is a problem and generate a Tier II ticket, then your Tier II folks close it out as NTF (No Trouble Fixed).

I am having intermittent Internet connectivity, and the problem is NOT with my modem, my connection, or the provisioning there of. How do I know this? Well let's start with the connection, the connection is the SAME connection that provides my telephone service, but when Internet goes out, my phone continues to work. How do I know that it's not my modem? Well, other than the fact that it's already been replaced about a dozen times, there is the fact that I can do a traceroute and I have zero packet loss to the first hop outside of my modem, and only about 1% to the next hop beyond that. Where things fail is around the 7th hop where, when it's down I can get that far but no further.

Anyone who knows ANYTHING about TCP/IP routing would understand this is NOT a local connection issue. Unfortunately, I am not convinced there is anyone in Comcast who fits into that category. I know Century Link is even worse as I switched FROM them, but this service is NOT ACCEPTABLE.

And in response to this I received:
