@Vee McMillen Maybe, my thoughts are anti-body enhanced response is a known issue with any vaccine and is considered during the development. Second, if he wanted to get the word out without it coming back to him he could hire an unknown third party or use a computer voice to read his script then upload the videos to peertube and odyssey or lbry and put links to them from here, like I did on his behalf. Problem with that is it doesn't make money for him off of all the bullshit (and he does sell a ton of bullshit) he sells on natural news. Whenever someone has a financial incentive, for me at least, that tends to undermine the message.

Kernel Upgrades Completed

Posted on May 29, 2021

The kernel upgrades are completed and all NFS and NIS connections have been verified. The upgrade was relatively uneventful. Everything is back up.

I am in the process of upgrading vps3 because the version of Devuan has reached end of life and it no longer has repositories from which to receive security updates. At the conclusion of this process there will be about 1/2 hour downtime for it to image it.

The free public services friendica.eskimo.com/, hubzilla.eskimo.com/, and nextcloud.eskimo.com/ are back in service.

@John Doe I've played with it since I started out in Xenix 1985, then SunOS 3.5 and 4.1 which is BSD based. BSD has better networking if you are using regular 1500 byte packets but I don't like the way the kernel allocates memory and that's so critical to the efficiency of everything I do not find it acceptable.

Kernel Upgrades Tonight 11PM-Midnight Pacific Daylight Time

Posted on May 28, 2021

I hope to do kernel upgrades tonight from 5.12.4 to 5.12.8, mostly a bug fix upgrade. Because there is no change in major point release, hopefully it will go smoothly.

This will result in approximately 10 minute outages of various services during this time frame, this includes shell servers, virtual private servers, web hosting, email, and friendica.eskimo.com/, hubzilla.eskimo.com/, and nextcloud.eskimo.com/.

For the sake of this meme, the 'left' consists of all that mob pushing the political extremism over the last several years. There have been some very civil folks discussing progressive politics here for a decade or so, but the TDS morons have railroaded any civil discourse with "defund the police", and "mostly peaceful protests" (with pallets of bricks dropped at convenient points along the parade route), and all manner of vitriolic hate speech. so yeah, this is aimed at _that_ left. the people claiming Trump is Hitler and other patently absurd nonsense.

This is aimed at the 'left' of Facebook and Twitter, with their now-public censorship of, well, they censored a sitting President, so that's about as extreme as anything we have seen since the mid-20th century, or maybe the Civil War.

@baptist_joshua_on_youtube Israel always has it's enemies attacking it without provocation. Wish I could go back and murder Rockefucker before the state was formed. Perhaps if this video had started earlier in history, at the formation and original borders of the country, shown how Israel invaded and occupied it's neighbors, how it bulldozed their homes with them in them and then built it's own settlements on their land, but no they just start in 2006 and pretend all of this was unprovoked.

Mycroft

I installed Mycroft because I wanted to play with a voice assistant like Siri without Google or Apple or Microsoft listening in.

So far the experience has been less than satisfying. First issue I had is that I had to crank the microphone gain to maximum (past 100% slider all the way to the right) to get it to here me. Then by default it seems to be more of an artificial stupidity engine than an artificial intelligence engine. Even simple things like "help" it does not understand.

@Vee McMillen I think of brainwashed as a kind of intentional stupid. I'm pretty much convinced that if someone could design a real-time IQ meter, you could watch the needle drop as soon as you set someone in front of a television or Facebook. It's like the Skeksis in Dark Crystal draining our essence. There are numerous studies that show a group of people generally make wiser decisions than individuals, but what those studies never include are the subjective filters put in place by those with agendas in the real world. Even if the agenda is as seemingly benign as trying to limit offensiveness, it eliminates a spectrum of exploration necessary for the best decisions and solutions to be arrived at.
