My husband and I are in our 70's and he takes one pill for blood pressure and I take nothing but aspirin once in awhile. @Striped Guys One thing that does appear to be an issue so far is immunogenicity of RNA. There have been a number of recipients of the pfizer vaccine that have gone into anaphylaxis. There was also a nurse that developed Bells Palsy afterwards, and one who fainted and a doctor who died. These things aren't making me feel real confident that this tech is ready for prime time.

Dreamt I worked in a nuclear processing facility. We had glove boxes and all that for dealing with hot materials but I was working with what should have been low level material.
When we'd leave at the end of our shift, they'd go over us with a scanner to make sure we weren't contaminated. I showed some minor contamination on my hands but they scrubbed them real good, didn't decrease which suggested it was in me rather than on me. They scanned my forehead, saw some mild activity there too.
I had gone fishing and caught a Cod recently and it was not a real large Cod, about 15lbs or so but even so more than a meal so I froze most of it but ate some of it. They wanted a sample so I brought them in a piece and it was mildly radioactive.
They said not enough to pose a significant health threat but I had caught it about thirty miles from the facility so they were concerned they might be leaking materials into the ocean.
I used to watch it way back in the 90's... I don't remember all the details, but Bart caught a 3 eyed fish close to the nuke facility where Homer worked.

@rottostein True, Simpsons makes it look like office space, the reality is it was a lot of cement and pipes. Large building, the generators were large, particularly the secondary generator. But they've decommissioned the reactor. I'm glad they did as there was one aspect that I found troubling. The reactor was designed for 1200Mw but they only ran it at 900Mw. Given how expensive nuclear is it doesn't make sense to run under capacity so I asked why. @BR 549 ☎ Actually, there is a type of reactor called a molten salt reactor that is inherently safe and burns up the actinides leaving no long term waste. It could power our needs for next 10,000 years or so on existing waste. You probably could skate from one end of the plant to the other, yards and yards of very smooth polished concrete floor and absolutely sterile, no dust. But you're right corporate offices not only not on that floor but not even in that complex.
@BR 549 ☎ I don't think I mentioned it here, but yeah with molten salt reactors you need to continuously remove fission products and that is part of the chemical processing. Removal of the fission products is necessary both because if you have an emergency shutdown you don't want a lot of fission products decaying and producing heat and because of neutron poisoning, they suck up neutrons and break the chain reaction.

While I think most of his conclusions are patently absurd, like China invading us if Trump wins, let me say I've taken three years of Chinese language classes with instructors who are native Chinese and I believe I've learned enough about the culture to know this is extremely unlikely, and from a military standpoint it is also unlikely, the reason being that the Chinese lack the navy and/or air force necessary to move a large number of troops quickly. They can fight a hell of a ground war within the range of where they can transport troops across land, but outside of that not so much. Further the general notion that a large EMP event would take out the US electrical grid for several years is just bullshit. A couple of decades ago when high voltage transmission lines were not fused, it would have been possible, because a large electromagnetic pulse would induce enough current in transformers to burn out windings and large transformers take a long time to manufacture, particularly when your manufacturing facilities are down, so a couple of years may have been reasonable, but today many long distance interties are DC and these are by their nature immune to EMP, and the AC lines are all fused, so what happens is they blow a bunch of fuses and it takes a few days to replace them, not a few years. Ok, so for these reasons I don't think a military attack would succeed. But beyond that, the culture of the Chinese people is one of thinking on the largest scale on down, the good of the entire planet more important than the good of China which in turn is more important than the good of a province which in turn is more important than the good of a city, which in turn is more important than the individual, that aspect, the other is they tend to be a rather pragmatic people and such an attack would not be good for anyone, and lastly they are a patient people, they will simply wait out four years for a better opportunity.

I'm 62, in the 60's we learned duck and cover, a nuclear war was coming any second, in the 70's we were told the climate was going to go into an ice age because all the crap we were putting into the atmosphere was preventing sunlight from making it through, then in the 80's peak oil was just around the corner and then we'd all starve to death because we'd have no oil to run farm equipment, transport food, etc, now it's global warming, and so yea after a while you get to recognize that it is just this weeks bullshit. The reality is eventually something will happen that will end civilization as we know it, but likely we won't have much warning, it will be natural in origin, and it will be sudden, like a large asteroid strike or a super volcano large eruption. How can I be sure that the ballot is not lost in action? And how can I check that the votes calculation process is correct? They can write any numbers they like after all. Which officials can I contact or what phone can I call? May be there are some websites where I can check it myself? How can I look at the calculation process or smth like that?
in the u.s., the only protection is transparency. in practice, that devolves down to having one person from each party present when votes are counted. there is zero beyond that.
so if the people are honest, and the process is neutral, the vote count is reliable.

@Więcesław Duczynski @cranston Well yes, cases were referred to the FBI. By transparent, there should be a way to track ballots from beginning to end that keeps hard copy and it should be observed and verified by all parties.
In school they tell you that if you've been robbed then you should go to a police department, if you need to pay taxes then you should go to a tax office, etc. It's a shame but in my age I still don't know where should I go to see what's going on with my ballot after I submit it.
@Więcesław Duczynski @cranston They have a website where you can put your ballot number and see that it was received and counted, but you can't see if they counted it for what you actually voted. I've had this discussion with the county, they say it's for "privacy" but if you need the ballot number which only they and I have it's not violating anyone's privacy it's just a way to avoid accountability.
So it's not me who studied bad in school, they really don't tell how to check the voting process, do they? And they don't tell that because the election system is... not developed yet, right?
