Sanders is one that needs this but not just Sanders, Biden, and the whole leftist crowd. People got to understand that money doesn't make stuff, government doesn't make stuff, PEOPLE make stuff, and if you don't employee them, if they just sit on their ass and collect money, everyone starves.

For those who still think Covid-19 was a natural virus and who have some understanding of microbiology and genetics, this should make interesting reading.
in reply to Nanook

@Robert Dinse listen to what is said at 1:05:40, for a half minute or so after. the point is not 'low hanging fruit', the point is that they have ALL chosen to use one of, or the, most vicious viral toxin(s) as their epitope. there are many other choices of antigen, some of which are even conserved across multiple species of Corona virus.

of course, selecting a really good one requires more research.

Here Are Ten Things We Have Learned During The Covid Coup:

1. Our political system is hopelessly corrupt. Virtually all politicians are hopelessly corrupt. No political party can be trusted. They all can be, and have been, bought.

2. Democracy is a sham. It has been a sham for a very long time. There will never be any real democracy when money and power amount to the same thing.

3. The system will stop at nothing to hold on to its power and, if possible, increase its levels of control and exploitation. It has no scruples. No lie is too outrageous, no hypocrisy too nauseating, no human sacrifice too great.

4. So-called radical movements are usually nothing of the sort. From whatever direction they claim to attack the system, they are just pretending to do so, and serve to channel discontent in directions which are harmless to the power clique and even useful to its agendas.

5. Any “dissident” voice you have ever heard of through corporate media is probably a fake. The system does not hand out free publicity to its actual enemies.

6. Most people in our society are cowards. They will jettison all the fine values and principles which they have been loudly boasting about all their lives merely to avoid the slightest chance of public criticism, inconvenience or even minor financial loss.

7. The mainstream media is nothing but a propaganda machine for the system and those journalists who work for it have sold their sorry souls, placing their (often minimal) writing skills entirely at the disposition of Power.

8. Police are not servants of the public but servants of a powerful and extremely wealthy minority which seeks to control and exploit the public for its own narrow and greedy interests.

9. Scientists cannot be trusted. They will use the hypnotic power of their white coats and authoritative status for the benefit of whoever funds their work and lifestyle. He who pays the piper calls the tune.

10. Progress is a misleading illusion. The “progress” of increasing automisation and industrialisation does not go hand in hand with a progress in the quality of human life, but in fact will “progressively” reduce it to the point of complete extinction.

Eggable Shells

Free Trial: eskimo.com/services/free-trial…

Our standard, standard, and enterprise shells, as well as shells provided as part of a medium or large web hosting package are Eggable, which is to say that you can run Eggdrop or other non-abusive bots. By non-abusive we mean bots that are not intended to intentionally flood, takeover, or otherwise disrupt IRC channels, users, or servers.

These can be run on any of our Linux based shell servers (but not our old SunOS box, it is just too resource tight to support user daemons of any sort, it’s mainly there for nostalgia reasons).

We have a number of bots and IRC bouncers pre-installed on our shell servers and available for your use. For those who prefer to roll your own, we have a very complete suite of Linux development tools available online and available for your use.

Many shell providers come and go. Eskimo North has been around under original ownership since the formation of the CIX in Stockton in 1992 and prior to that we operated a Unix Timeshare service from 1985 so we have more than 36 years of experience providing shells (prior to 1992 they were shells on an isolated SunOS network). In 2012 we upgraded our host hardware from older UltraSparc servers to i7-6700K based systems. In August of 2015, we upgraded our router to provide lower latency and improved performance. We also added an i7-6850K server.

We are not the lowest price shell provider out there, but if you want one that has a solid backbone connection, solid servers, and staying power, as opposed to someone running an old PC on a cable modem that will be gone in a couple of months, we’re the provider for you.

If you would like a custom hostname under our domain with a dedicated IP address for that hostname on a particular shell server, we would be happy to accommodate this at no additional expense. If you would like your own domain name, then you will need either a business or personal medium or large web hosting package or a virtual domain plus standard or larger shell.

Some of the IRC bots we provide pre-installed include:

Eggdrop
An Advanced IRC Robot
Fedmsg-irc
Fedora Messaging Infrastructure System – IRC Bot
Gozerbot
IRC and Jabber bot written in Python
Ibid
Easily extensible Python IM bot for IRC, Jabber, SILC, campfire, etc.
Iroffer
IRC file distribution bot
Jirc
An IRC to Jabber bridge bot
Json Bot
A framework for building bots for IRC, XMPP, and the web.
Kgb Bot
A collaborative bot for IRC
Lambdabot
A development tool and advanced IRC bot
Nadoka
IRC logger, monitor, and proxy bot in ruby.
Piespy
IRC bot to visualize social networks
Plum
IRC proxy, stationing, login, and bot program.
Rbot
IRC bot written in ruby
Rss2irc
IRC bot that watches an rss/atom feed and relays it to a channel

Most shells give you ssh access, as do we, but we also give you a full remote desktop including sound. Included are a number of text and some very nice graphical IRC clients.

While you can still use bnc, sbnc, or znc bouncers as a way to obscure your IP address from potential abuse, an alternative is to connect to our shells using x2go and then run an IRC client on our shells.

We are not at present allowing IRC servers onto our shells. This may be possible in the future if our client base becomes sufficient to cover the cost of the bandwidth demands and necessary protective measures. We are the original founders of NewNet and have run IRC servers here in the past.

Remote Desktop - Linux Shell

Sign up for a free trial: eskimo.com/services/free-trial…

Shell is a command line interface to an operating system. Most shell providers offer a simple text only interface via ssh, telnet, or rlogin. With some of these providers it may be possible to execute X commands and redirect them to your display. While this allows you to use graphical commands, it is a tedious process.

While Eskimo North does provide traditional shell access, we go much further offering full remote desktop access with sound. This is like having a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and speakers plugged right into our servers and it is available from anywhere in the world. With a reasonably decent broadband connection, full motion video and high quality audio is possible.

Four popular remote desktop protocols are supported. All of these are tunnelled through ssh to provide encryption to protect your sensitive data and to prevent snooping on your activities or intercepting your login authentication credentials.

Guacamole Web Based Access
On our website under Web Apps, Desktop or Terminal Access, or by going directly to eskimo.com/guacamole/, login with “public” for the login and password. Then choose the server and whether you want a terminal or desktop and then login with your login and password. This allows you to access a terminal session or full remote desktop session from any HTML5 compliant web browser.

X2Go
X2Go is by far the preferable protocol to use. There are two clients that work with X2Go, the X2Go client, and PyHoca, a python client. The X2Go client is easy to configure with a simple graphical configuration interface. It tunnels all data through an SSH connection by default so there is little chance of accidentally establishing an unencrypted session and exposing critical data. It is the only remote desktop that supports sound well. It does an excellent job of eliminating X round-trip delays and it also compresses data very efficiently. It is the only remote desktop protocol that is sufficiently robust and efficient to make full motion video and audio work reasonably well over a cable modem connection. X2Go is available for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS/X based computers. For linux computers, it is usually included with your distribution. Try yum install x2go-client or apt-get install x2go-client.

VNC
VNC is an old X-forwarding protocol. The VNC servers we have here are configured to tunnel through ssh in order to provide a secure encrypted session. Consequently, you will either need a client that provides ssh tunnelling such as Chicken VNC (not to be confused with Chicken of the VNC which does not provide this functionality) or you will need to setup an ssh tunnel manually. VNC does not do such a good job of eliminating X round-trip delays nor does it compress as effeciently as X2Go or NX. However, VNC is available for more platforms and if you have an older computer this may be the best option.

RDP
RDP or Remote Desktop Protocol is the protocol used by Windows for remote desktop access. If you have a Windows machine, you most likely already have RDP built in so it is a quick way to get a remote desktop up and running. The performance of RDP is really not adequate for full motion video and it also lacks audio and remote printing.

Wierd Signals in the 82-88 Mhz Range

Starting last night I began receiving strange signals in the 80-88Mhz region of the spectrum on my SDR. If I use FM demodulation, I hear a strong 60Hz component and a very weak voice. These signals are numerous across this range, most are short lived (a few maybe 10 seconds but some persist). These frequencies used to be occupied by television channels 5 and 6 but they've been moved to UHF. This is just outside of Seattle, Washington. These are extremely unstable in terms of frequency, I would suspect some CB'ers linear had a bad parasitic oscillation if it weren't for them being so numerous across the 80-88Mhz and they go right up to 87.9 Mhz but do not encroach on the 88-108Mhz broadcast band which suggests they are very intentionally generated. Any ideas?

Mail Server Repaired

Posted on May 15, 2021

I’ve undone the majority of new bugs introduced by Ubuntu in their Hirsute Hippo release. It took quite a while to chase some of them down. I normally avoid using short term releases but dovecot had some serious problems in 20.04, so upgraded to groovy to resolve, and groovy was a clean update, unlike this one, did not break anything, but since these short term releases are only supported for nine months, one is obligated to upgrade again until you get back to a stable release, the next stable release will be 22.04.

The most disasterous is a Poettering effect, “systemctl reboot” now hangs the machine hard rather than rebooting, this combined with the fact that NFS never really worked 100% correctly under Linux created a situation where I could not get into the physical host to force a reboot of mail.eskimo.com which is a virtual machine SO I needed to drive down to the co-location facility to fix.

Then they opted to replace my systemd scripts for postfix and dovecot. This is problematic because on our server various things are mounted via NFS, among them encryption certificates since it would be a pain to maintain 30 separate certificates for each machine, I have a few wildcard certs for various domains and I have the certs mounted on an NFS partition. That way I only have to update in one place.

This necessitates delaying the startup of postfix, dovecot, and anything else that needs access to encryption certificates until AFTER the partition is mounted. This is easily accomplished with systemd scripts provided upstream operating system providers don’t change them for you and remove these things.

Then they changed pam configuration adding a check for weak passwords which seemed like a good idea except the actual module wasn’t there so it resulted in PAM failures because it couldn’t find the referenced module.

Lastly they broke postfwd, and this was particularly challenging since postfix which calls it rather than report a problem with it, gave the rather generic error, “server misconfiguration”, yet, postfix check which is supposed to check the configuration file reported no errors. I finally found it by turning debugging peer on for my workstation IP address and attempting to send a message and tracing through the logs.

That revealed that postfwd didn’t start. Postfwd is used here to check for spambots using someone’s account if their password is compromised and force a password change if this occurs. Postfwd is a perl script and I’m not fluent in perl so that made it a particularly difficult challenge but it was complaining of missing perl modules in the logs, however, the modules it says were missing were in fact installed. I finally removed the Ubuntu postfwd package and installed it directly from github, fixed.

So after much gnashing of teeth and pulling of hair, I believe our mail system is back to fully operational status again. Since it required many reboots, I checked the NFS status of all servers mounting from it and they all appear to be okay.

Tonight’s Maintenance Completed

Posted on May 15, 2021

All Debian based kernels were upgraded to 5.12.4.

This took an hour and 15 minutes to complete on the physical server hosting the web server because the iomemory drivers did not want to compile under 5.12.4. After much pulling of hair I found that it was a libc6 version mismatch between the machine that I installed the kernel on and the one I built it on. The DKMS module for iomemory required this.

Mail has been upgraded to ubuntu 21.04. Most of the servers here are on long term releases but dovecot was barely usable on the 20.04 release prompting a rapid upgrade to a short-term intermediate release.

The iomemory card is a special type of flash which is capable of atomic writes straight to flash used with mariadb 10.5 to handle an extremely heavy transaction rate. On disks the database would only handle about 400 TPS but on this flash drive it has handled over 10,000/s on spikes. This makes friendica and even more so hubzilla which is more resource intensive, function smoothly and rapidly post incoming messages.

New tickless linux kernels are available for Debian based systems at
eskimo.com/kernel 5.10, 5.11, and 5.12, there are two builds for each, one a "client" build is fully preemptive and has a 1000HZ clock rate, the other is the "server" build and it is non-preemptive and 100HZ clock rate. The client is optimized for as low of latency as possible while the server is optimized for maximum throughput, get as much real work done as possible.

There are three .deb files there for each, download all of them then install with dpkg -i *.deb.

Thank you for using friendica.eskimo.com/ and hubzilla.eskimo.com/. We are here to provide an outlet that is opposite mainstream cancel culture and offers freedom of speech. If you are easily offended by honest open expression then his probably is not the place for you.

States Jews as a "race", which is not true. Essentially says that the Chinese have no idea about Jews in general an Jews in America, but irrational ideas about them. Interesting though, how professor Prof. Xu Xin, director of the Diane and Guilford Glazer Institute of Jewish and Israel Studies at Nanjing University, tries to bring a little more clarity to china.

Student Liu Nanyang: “In their minds, Jewish people control the banks in America. It means for them that Jewish people control the world, controls the governments,” he railed, shaking his hands in disbelief. “I feel it’s a joke.”

Prof. Xu: “Stereotypes are overemphasized. But in China this is positive,” he said calmly.

in reply to Nanook

Actually Jews are a race, they are a religion or a multitude of religions as I've found it seems no two Jews agree upon exactly what Judaism is, there are multiple documents and many of them conflict, the racial aspect is also fuzzy since they are "Sons of Jacob" but along maternal lines which means genetically only the mitochondrial DNA would be in common, and culture seems to have it's share of varieties also. I understand what Xu Xin is saying but the category Jew is too broad to really be useful in this context and yet, myself I haven't figured out what is special about these people who are widely in power, it's not the Jewish people as a whole it is a very small subset. They are Jewish, they aren't your average run of the mill Jew. So what is special about this group? Can we find a better identifier?
in reply to Nanook

European antisemitism dates back very very far to the middle ages and had basically religious reasons. People were unbelievably religious here in medieval times. And Jews were, according to the bible, seen as the group that was responsible for the killing of Jesus. So Judaism was seen for centuries as something evil. They were like outlaws. There are many cases reported where local Jewish groups were suspected to have killed children or even eaten them and so much more.

People with respected jobs, like all craftsmen, were for centuries usually organized in guilds. And they would never allow Jews in their deeply religious rows. So Jews were often like Gipsies used to be as well: No one wanted to have anything to do with them, all tried to keep distance, and if something happened the Jews were among the first to be under suspicion.

That's really old tradition for centuries everywhere in Europe. The nazis just used a cheap old trick many despots used in history: Present to the people a common enemy, a guinea pig in that anybody can project his hates and fears. They could have chosen any other group, like catholics. But obviously by the early 20. century Jews were still the most obvious choice for the guinea pig role.

I've seen many documents that show, that the traditional discrimination was just about to end at that time. Like I told you Professor Viktor Klemperer converted to Christianity in the 20s and said Judaism is outdated. Or like the Article I read from a Jewish community which, in fervent patriotism, called on its members to fight for Germany in the First World War. They obviously didn't see themselves as something else than normal Germans.

I don't think either the Germans were just "blood thirsty" as you said. In fact it was something I couldn't explain for decades. I knew my grandparents and other old men and women and they were good people. They said they didn't know the Jews were killed, but I didn't believe. They had seen the discrimination and the deportations, but they said they didn't know about the killings. I don't know. But I know that the killings only started in about 1940/41, which was in the middle of the war already. There must have been some rumor about it, some leaked informations, but I see that most people were busy with themselves then.

How a cultivated nation could have slided so quickly into barbarism was always a riddle for me. But now recently I see exactly that. That was where we started this discussion, the sentence "the people are broken". It's a mixture of many things. Some police-terror, some pressure, some real fear implanted in their brains, some social fear to still speak up were they would actually disagree, some politicians telling them who's fault it is and then they let their hate just flow. It's mass psychosis.

Hate Speech and History

An undeniable truth is that victors of any conflict write history.

The upshot is any lessons that could have been learned from history are lost if the victors records are the only records.

This is why I am such an advocate of free speech even if it happens to piss people off and as a result frequently find myself up against the greatest oppressors of free speech. If we can't learn ALL the lessons of history, we are destined to repeat it.

People read about the history of world war II as written by the Jews and it makes Germany out as the sole aggressor and does negates little details like the reasons WHY the Germans went to war, or the fact that rich Jews financed BOTH sides of the war. According to the Jewish version, the Germans just got some superior race edit up their craw and were determined to extinguish anyone who wasn't of Aryan decent.

Actually the real reason is the Jews had a stranglehold on the German economy and Germans were tired of starving. The same situation which is coming about to a greater and greater degree, and if we don't learn the real lessons from WW II and take preemptive action BEFORE it gets to this stage, the Holocaust is going to look like a walk in the park. Yes the Jews control much of the US government now, and many governments around the world, 26 of our House are dual Israeli-US citizens, but when people get hungry enough all hell will break lose.

I don't want to see a mega-holocaust, nor do I want to see people starve to death, but the only way to avoid BOTH of these things is to force the Jews to relinquish control of our economy.

You can shut me up, ignore me, but I will continue to give voice to all sides so issues can be aired, and I will continue to post video and article evidence. You can bury your heads in the sand until things go boom or you can learn to live in peace with the goy in a manner that is non-exploitative.

The truth of the matter is hate is not an arbitrary emotion. It did not evolve in the human species just out of some sadistic edict from God, it evolved to help us defend ourselves from those who would exploit us. If you want to end hate, you're not going to do it by squashing free speech, you need to do it by treating your fellow human beings ethically and fairly.

Absolutely. Doubt is always appropriate. Different sources are to be compared. I also absolutely agree with your plea for free speech.

I'm also completely aware that the way to WWII was far more complicated than simplistic explanations and propaganda pretend. There was so much support, collaboration and ignorance from everywhere. There were fascists also in Italy and in Spain. Stalin collaborated. The British have not covered themselves with glory with their Appeasement policy. The Munich Agreement of 1938 between the nazis, the British, the French and the Italian was not a glory of history. The US didn't show much interest as well, but Ford or Coca Cola liked to make good business with the nazis.

There was poverty in Germany before the nazis came. The reason was the big economic crisis, that hit Germany especially bad. As far as I know the main reason therefore were the reparations payments demanded from the winning powers of WWI.

So far, I think, this can be discussed and evidence for statements can be found. But if you say the reason for all of this were "the Jews", I'm only half sorry to say: this is ridiculous nonsense without any evidence. You can try to show me, but the nonsense already starts with the word "the". Who is "the"? The sympathetic Hans Rosenthal, who just survived because good people hid him? Viktor Klemperer who flew from the Jews house in Dresden during the fire attacks and went undercover in Bavaria? Who is "the" Jews? Hannah Arendt, Max Liebermann or Kurt Tucholsky? And they are the reason for WWII? Robert, you're obviously an intelligent person. You can't really believe such nonsense.

If you could prove me, that Stalin and Ford and Chamberlain and Daladier and all the influential people had a common policy that was dictated by some kind of committee because of a common religion, then we could talk about religious influence on the whole thing. But still it would have nothing to do with all the other people of the same religion or origin. But you can't prove anyway.

I would be interested in further information about the situation in the USA. But concerning Germany I think we should leave with that.

Again, best wishes, greetings and have a good weekend.
