I have already asked this question in other places: can you tell me please how does the voting system work? For example, I take a ballot, put a mark in front of John Doe and give the ballot away. How can I be sure that the ballot is not lost in action? And how can I check that the votes calculation process is correct? They can write any numbers they like after all. Which officials can I contact or what phone can I call? May be there are some websites where I can check it myself? How can I look at the calculation process or smth like that?
in the u.s., the only protection is transparency. in practice, that devolves down to having one person from each party present when votes are counted. there is zero beyond that.
so if the people are honest, and the process is neutral, the vote count is reliable.
in practice, until this election, people simply trusted that the self-interest of each party would produce an honest result. in fact, that trust had no basis whatsoever.
@Więcesław Duczynski @cranston Well yes, cases were referred to the FBI. By transparent, there should be a way to track ballots from beginning to end that keeps hard copy and it should be observed and verified by all parties.
In school they tell you that if you've been robbed then you should go to a police department, if you need to pay taxes then you should go to a tax office, etc. It's a shame but in my age I still don't know where should I go to see what's going on with my ballot after I submit it.
@Więcesław Duczynski @cranston They have a website where you can put your ballot number and see that it was received and counted, but you can't see if they counted it for what you actually voted. I've had this discussion with the county, they say it's for "privacy" but if you need the ballot number which only they and I have it's not violating anyone's privacy it's just a way to avoid accountability.
So it's not me who studied bad in school, they really don't tell how to check the voting process, do they? And they don't tell that because the election system is... not developed yet, right?

@cranston I'm about seven miles north of it but that is still way too close. Yea Mayor Durkan is something else, something emitted from a horses ass I think. Our Governor Inslee ain't so great either, second highest gas tax in the nation, highest telecom taxes, but Boeing gets a free ride as does Amazon, honestly out the window. We pass an initiative to limit car tabs and the asshole takes it to court and gets it overturned.
for the future, there are many ways to reform the voting process. all of them require the dems and repubs to let go of their effective monopoly, and allow an honest result. so far, neither has any interest in doing so.

@mishaL it is only words and definitions. One go from the top, and the other go toward the top (and generally from the middle-high, not from the bottom which are only tools in both cases). So yes, it can be seen as "total opposite", but not really from a "bottom-people" point of view.
A government saying it gives billions to health system, but in fact dimnish the funding at other places and give more money to private health. And then ask police services to pressure journalists who write about that. Is it conspiracy ? Propaganda ? Both ?

And let's be clear what you are calling sharing is actually Robinhood style steal from the rich and give to the poor. I "share", I give money to churches that provide help for the homeless but they do it in the form of meals and drug rehabilitation and temporary shelter, not just giving them money to go buy more heroin.

My workstation is triple boot Ubuntu 20.10 / Ubuntu 21.04 Development / Win 10 because sdrUNO won't run on Linux even under Wine and it's the only SDR software that fully takes advantage of my rspDX SDR.
@poet1b I am reasonably sure most politicians -- Republicrats or Democans, doesn't matter -- are crooks. The only reason Trump has been as successful as he have against politicians is that he isn't one. As for being a crook, he may be a "typical New York businessman" but he clearly didn't pick his current job to enrich himself.

@BR 549 ☎ Anticipating this massive fraud, Trump and the Homeland security department provided the paper for real ballots, the paper was marked with a blockchain encryption dot pattern that makes it possible to discern real ballots from fake. Two MAGIC reasons why it will appear that #covid #vaccines work. 1. The FDA just approved the use of HCQ for treating covid. 2. Studies have shown that Ivermectin (a chemical used to de-worm animals) is effective against covid-19. I'm new to friendica, this is my first post! I've only ever used facebook. The problem with it, you shouldn't use it period if you believe anything or voted for Trump because the owner is anti religion and pro Biden. You are making him very wealthy by using his site. So wealthy because of the virtual monopoly facebook enjoys that it's terribly inappropriate to use facebook in the quest to restore free speech in America. To this end, I want to find enough social media owned and operated by pro religion people that all the religious people on facebook can leave facebook. The next trick is getting them all off. It needs to happen yesterday, I am guilty of having been on there so long myself. Of greatest concern, live streamed religious ceremonies need to get off of facebook period. No matter what you believe, I beg of you to reach out to all people of faith that are on facebook to help them leave. The sooner, the better. We should be able to cut facebook's subscribership by at least 50% and cut his revenues significantly too. I encourage Robert who runs eskimo.com and everyone I can reach who does or can run an appropriately pro religion social media site to get to know each other and support each other. Ideally, any large pro religion social media site is in a red state and there are sites all over the country to accommodate everyone who believes anything coming off of Facebook and Youtube.

This is a horrible crime that has gone on for way too long, for money. My son was born in 1981, and I had the choice to have the vaccines or not. I chose to not have him get the whooping cough vaccine, because of the side effects they listed. I don't think he had more than 6. I don't think parents have a choice now
@Vee McMillen Yep me too, and what is funny my doc wants to give me DPT vaccinations. Well Diphtheria does not exist in the United States, Tetanus there are 30 cases a year and I don't spend much time outdoors, and I've already had Pertussis (Whooping Cough) so I don't see much point.
