Previously I had only been aware of what a cholo/chola was.

Oddly enough, I even heard a Mexican say that the word is actually related to the Xolo breed of dog..! But that does not sound right, particularly when there seems to be a cognate with a Cuban Spanish word.

Do let me say, though, that one of the great utilities of these excessive LGBTQ websites is being able to randomly click into stuff like this.

Going down the rabbit hole and found this gag worthy piece.

These sorts of articles are worth it just for the parts like this:

YNW Melly Skipped YNW SakChaser’s Funeral, Instead Showed Up After to Family Dinner ‘Happy Dancing’
YNW Melly allegedly skipped YNW SakChaser’s funeral and only attended a family dinner after the funeral, McNeal said.

“He came in dancing, happy dancing,” McNeal explained in an exclusive interview.

The defense claims DNA on the knife sheath was “planted.”

Prosecutors asked the court to issue a protective order on the genetic genealogy information developed by the FBI using a DNA profile obtained from the snap of the knife sheath found on Maddie Mogen’s bed.

Kohberger faces the possibility of the death penalty if convicted of the murders of Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin last November. The four students were found dead in their off-campus house in Moscow, Idaho.
...

Kohberger’s defense attorneys wrote in their objection that they want to see how many other potential suspects were overlooked.

They even suggested that Kohberger’s DNA could have been planted:

“The State’s argument asks this Court and Mr. Kohberger to assume – is that the DNA on the sheath was placed there by Mr. Kohberger, and not someone else during an investigation that spans hundreds of members of law enforcement and apparently at least one lab the State refuses to name.”

90% of the vessels go undetected - truly remarkable that there has not been any desire to change the way that they engage with the threat to the porous coastline.

This can only be chocked up to the inertia of bureaucracy and the lack of any real concern for the health of Americans.

At least $1billion worth of cocaine has been seized from 'narco subs' en route to the US in the last eight years, DailyMail.com can reveal.

But anti-smuggling commanders believe around nine in 10 boats evade detection, meaning up to $9 billion worth of the drug may have entered the country via these vessels.

Criminal gangs are increasingly using drug-laden semi submersibles to transport vast quantities of illicit substances into the US as they seek to outwit maritime police.

The boats, which are not fully submersible but can dip under water like submarines, have advanced significantly in recent years.

One former cartel member has predicted that missions, previously considered 'kamikaze rituals' for crews, will soon be run by drug traffickers using remote controls from the safety of their headquarters.

It comes after a Colombian man dubbed the 'Prince of Submersibles' was jailed in the US for more than 20 years for running a fleet of narco subs shipping cocaine into the country.

Official data on the number of narco-subs smuggling drugs into the US is yet to be released, but an audit of publicly available U.S. Coast Guard busts by DailyMail.com has found at least $1billion worth of cocaine has been seized from these boats since 2015.

Given that the audit was only of cases already made public, the real figure is likely to be much higher.

Maritime police insist they are getting better at intercepting the boats, but operation commanders have compared scouring the open ocean for 20 foot semi-submersibles to a pair of police cars patrolling the entire country.

I gotta admit this is pretty creative - makes you feel like you're in the wrong line of business.

Greek Wildfires

Really

The Rhodes wildfire nightmare has become the largest fire evacuation in Greek history - as 19,000 people have been forced to flee from villages and hotels.

Holiday firms TUI and Jet2 have cancelled all flights to Rhodes as the popular holiday destination has been gripped by wildfires, forcing thousands of tourists to flee.

Greece has issued warnings over 'extreme fire risks' in the areas of Attica, Evia, Boeotia, Corinthia, Ilia, Argolis, Messinia and Rhodes.

But some firefighters believe the fires engulfing the island - which began five days ago - may have been started on purpose, stating 'fires are set by human hands.'

'Whether it is due to negligence or fraud will be seen (but) people have been summoned for statements and others will be summoned.

It is at least good to see the Greeks are already in the mood of investigating this seriously.

Nanook friendica
Can't help but wonder if these are sparked by the same arsonists who started the Canadian wild fires this year and the California wildfires last or the year before?

On Salvation

The Holy Orthodox Church is the repository of the divinely revealed Truth in all its fullness and fidelity to apostolic Tradition. Hence, he who leaves the Church, who intentionally and consciously falls away from it, joins the ranks of its opponents and becomes a renegade as regards apostolic Tradition. The Church dreadfully anathematized such renegades, in accordance with the words of the Saviour Himself (Matt. 18:17) and of the Apostle Paul (Gal. 1:8-9), threatening them with e ternal damnation and calling them to return to the Orthodox fold. It is self evident, however, that sincere Christians who are Roman Catholics, or Lutherans, or members, of other non-Orthodox confessions, cannot be termed renegades or heretics—i.e. those who knowingly pervert the truth...* They have been born and raised and are living according to the creed which they have inherited, just as do the majority of you who are Orthodox; in their lives there has not been a moment of personal and conscious renunciation of Orthodoxy. The Lord, "Who will have all men to be saved" (I Tim. 2:4) and "Who enlightens every man born into the world" (Jn. 1.43), undoubtedly is leading them also towards salvation In His own way.

With reference to the above question, it is particularly instructive to recall the answer once given to an inquirer by the Blessed Theophan the Recluse. The blessed one replied more or less thus: "You ask, will the heterodox be saved... Why do you worry about them? They have a Saviour Who desires the salvation of every human being. He will take care of them. You and I should not be burdened with such a concern. Study yourself and your own sins... I will tell you one thing, however: should you, being Orthodox and possessing the Truth in its fullness, betray Orthodoxy, and enter a different faith, you will lose your soul forever."

We believe the foregoing answer by the saintly ascetic to be the best that can be given in this matter.

Treatment of the Holy Texts

Excellent observations here on how to handle the Holy Scriptures - note the necessity of always referring to the hermeneutical Christian tradition, and relying on what the Holy Fathers say about a text for its interpretation.

Psalm 137 Pt. 2

St. Maximos the Confessor interpreted the Psalm 137:9 lines as being about uprooting forbidden desires.

Every assent in thought to some forbidden desire, that is, every submission to self-indulgence, is a sin for a monk. For first the thought begins to darken the intellect through the passable aspect of the soul, and then the soul submits to the pleasure, not holding out in the fight. This is what is called assent, which - as has been said - is a sin. When assent persists it stimulates the passion in question. Then little by little it leads to the actual committing of the sin. This is why the prophet calls blessed those who dash the children of Babylon against the stones (cf Ps. 137: 9). People with understanding and discretion will know what is meant.

Psalm 137 Pt. 1

"We do not encounter only a violent God in the Book of Psalms, but also a
violent psalmist. In Psalm 137 the psalmist calls out “Blessed is the person who
will take and dash your infants against the rocks”. Chrysostom is clearly not
comfortable with curses and requests for revenge in the Book of Psalms. He
argues that these words did not come from the psalmist himself.15 He says that
the psalmist merely describes the feelings of the captives in exile! Chrysostom
then reminds his congregation that the New Testament teaches us differently:
namely that we should give food and drink to our enemies and that we should
even pray for those who abuse us (cf. Luke 6:28). By putting the pleas for
revenge in the mouths of the captives, rather than in the mouth of the psalmist,
Chrysostom argues that there is no conflict between the message of the Old and
the New Testament. It was customary for the ancient exegetes to always attempt
to harmonize the message of the Scriptures, since they believed that Scripture
interprets itself."

Interesting concerning St. John Chrysostom and Psalm 137.

Absolutely hilarious tactic.

Just Stop Oil's 'Beyond F***ed Banquet' was derailed today by counter-protestors, who set off alarms suspended in balloons.

The group - which this week clashed with JSO as they prepared to march on London - was revealed to be led by British YouTubers Josh Pieters and Archie Manners.

They shared today how they had send a mole 'undercover [...] for the past few weeks' to 'help stop Just Stop Oil' as public opposition to the group mounts.

Manners told MailOnline this evening: 'Climate Change is the greatest crisis facing our generation - but if we're going to solve it we need to work together.

'JSO's tactics over the last 18 months haven't worked; indeed people across the country are put off this vital cause as a result of their protesting.

'The people at JSO are well intended; but they're going about it the wrong way. Stopping mothers getting to hospital, or ruining people's day out at the snooker isn't doing anything to tackle climate change.'

Interesting to see that other environmentalists are ultimately behind this.

Sus Packages

This is fascinating.

“There are cases in which international sellers randomly send their products, or even empty packages pretending to hold products, to unspecified addresses in Korea for the purpose of inflating their export records as part of a scam,” said the Korea Customs Service in a statement on Sunday.

“Considering that the recent unidentified international packages were sent to Korea in a similar format, we are trying to identify if this was indeed intended as a scam.”

It may just be the case that they are part of milking a national tax policy or assistance policy that gives benefits to international shippers.

This is also funny.

The flurry of reports came after three people at a welfare center for people with disabilities in Ulsan received unidentified international packages on Thursday.

They were treated at hospitals after they reported symptoms of dizziness and shortness of breath after opening the parcels.

People thought they were being Anthraxed or something lol

Larry Fink, BlackRock & Predatory Capitalism

Investment honcho Larry Fink is attracting outrage from conservatives for an old admission that his firm would "force behaviors" on diversity, equity, and inclusion standards amid pushback on companies setting similar goals.

"Behaviors are gonna have to change, and this is one thing we're asking companies. You have to force behaviors, and at BlackRock we are forcing behaviors," Fink said in a 2017 video interview with the New York Times.

BlackRock Inc., the world's largest asset manager, with shares in companies like Amazon, Apple, MasterCard, Johnson & Johnson, Walmart ,and Walt Disney Co., bragged in the 2017 interview about adding "4 more points of diverse employment.”

"What we're doing internally is if you don't achieve these levels of impact, your compensation could be impacted," Fink said in the interview video.

"You have to force behaviors. If you don't force behaviors, whether it's gender or race or just any way you want to say the composition of your team, you're going to be impacted. That not just recruiting, it's development," Fink said. "We're gonna have to force change."

The video circulated on social media after resurfacing online, Fox News reported, with Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, tweeting on Monday that BlackRock is "destroying value and are engaged in illegal and immoral conduct."

"There are two schools of thought within the GOP on BlackRock. The old guard thinks they're creating value and need to be rewarded with tax cuts," the message stated. "I think they're destroying value and are engaged in illegal and immoral conduct. They need to be dealt with accordingly."

Across the country, over 200 micro-mobility fire or overheating incidents have been reported from 39 states, resulting in at least 19 fatalities, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. But the organization emphasized that the problem is particularly acute in densely populated areas like New York City. In London, lithium battery fires are the fastest-growing fire risk, with 57 e-bike fires and 13 e-scooter fires this year, according to the London Fire Brigade.

In New York, lithium battery fires have killed 13 people this year, including four people in a blaze that started in an e-bike store in Chinatown on Tuesday. A total of 23 people have died in battery fires since 2021. This year, there have been 108 fires, compared with 98 fires for the same period last year.

Lately, concerning the defederation of Exploding Heads in the fediverse and all that drama, I have felt rather burnt out on alt tech. It often feels like it is going nowhere fast.

It also makes you wonder if you are contributing to anything.

Everyone predicted this - eventually they would be begging the police to come back.

No matter how woke you are, you eventually need safety. Nobody wants to live in chaos.

The major problem for blue cities is that they will never erase the tension that exists between the politicians and the police because the politicians will continue throwing cops under the bus so they do not have to take responsibility for the fact that 'law & order must exist' and their power base actually resenting this fact.

100% pure, unfiltered clownworld:

Chris Hipkins, New Zealand’s newly elected Prime Minister, refused to define the term "woman," arguing that "people define themselves" when pressed by a reporter.

During a press conference Sunday, New Zealand media company The Platform asked Hipkins how he, and the New Zealand government, define what a woman is.

"To be honest, that question has come out of left field for me. The biology, sex, gender," he said before taking a long pause. "People define themselves, people define their own genders."

When asked about the term again, Hipkins diverted the question and said that "people identity for themselves."
...
"I wasn’t expecting that question, so it wasn’t something I pre-formulated an answer on. But in terms of gender identify, people identity for themselves," he said.

Oh, geez, bro didn't know this trick question was coming and was caught with his pants down..!

Can't expect a man to navigate a minefield like defining womanhood..!

FBI Committing Fraud to Prosecute Proud Boys

Absolutely remarkable:

On February 12, 2023, TGP’s Cara Castronuova first reported on the mistress and government plant infiltrated the Proud Boys. And it was the government who AUTHORED and INSERTED the mysterious “1776 Returns” document into the Proud Boys com channel.

The mysterious document was sent unsolicited to Proud Boy Chairman Enrique Tarrio’s Telegram right before January 6th by a “love interest” named Erika Flores.

It has been revealed that Flores reportedly testified to the January 6th Committee that A GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL was the author of the entirety of the “1776 Returns” and that this FBI and CIA member or associate asked her to share it with Tarrio!

Tarrio has been charged with Seditious Conspiracy and currently stands trial in D.C. along with four fellow members of the Proud Boys.

According to the Motion by attorney Roger Roots:

“It appears that the government itself is the author of the most incriminating and damning document in this case, which was mysteriously sent at government request to Proud Boy leader Enrique Tarrio immediately prior to January 6 in order to frame or implicate Tarrio in a government- created scheme to storm buildings around the Capitol. As such, Exhibit 528-1 and the government’s efforts to frame or smear defendants with it, constitutes outrageous government conduct. This is either entrapment or outrageous government conduct, or both. Equally improper, it is a Brady violation because the Department of Justice must surely have known these revelations before putting Special Agent Dubrowski on the stand on February 9 to introduce this evidence.”

You can’t make this stuff up!

There is NO EVIDENCE that Tarrio ever looked at the document. There is NO EVIDENCE that the Proud Boys studied the document.

The FBI is conducting itself in an absolutely fraudulent manner.

@Nanook @wuckertrhea

I sometimes say that I do not even like music unless its bad...

I am well aware that there is talented music, and then there are collections of noises that I just enjoy passing time to and that somehow play well with my anxiety and obsessive mind.

I think the bulk of my music falls into fulfilling the latter category.

Nanook friendica
@J. Løvstuhagen @wuckertrhea I'm kind of with Big Audio Dynamite's song Rush, "Rhythm and Melody", there are elements I want to hear in music, hence my distaste for Rap and Hip-Hop. In his new book, Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump’s former personal attorney and fixer who is currently serving a prison sentence, portrayed his ex-client as an elitist with little concern for those who support him if they aren’t from “the ruling class.”

According to Cohen’s tell-all book, “Disloyal: A Memoir,” as reported by NBC News on Tuesday, Trump held a deep admiration for Russian leader Vladimir Putin during the 2016 presidential race, admiration that was sparked by the now-President’s infatuation with wealth and power.

“Everyone other than the ruling class on earth was like an ant, to his way of thinking, their lives meaningless and always subject to the whims of the true rulers of the world,” Cohen wrote.

“The cosmic joke was that Trump convinced a vast swath of working-class white folks in the Midwest that he cared about their well-being,” the former attorney added. “The truth was that he couldn’t care less.”

When TPM asked for a response to Cohen’s comments, White House spokesperson Judd Deere pointed to White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany’s previous remarks deriding the former attorney as a “disgraced felon and disbarred lawyer.”

“He has lost all credibility, and it’s unsurprising to see his latest attempt to profit off of lies,” she said.

But ultimately I don't view him as anything but a tool of my will either. I don't respect his lifestyle. He is sexually debauched and often seems quite obtuse in how rude he can be.

But who else would I vote for?

And why would I think that any of the Democrat candidates are anyway remotely different in their personal lives, if not worse..?

All that matters is that he has the right ideas at this point.

We had the strongest economy we've had in my adult life AND we had no wars. That's why I would vote for him. For not caring about the "ants", he did a lot more for us than anyone else in the office. We haven't had a president in our life that wasn't involved in sexual debauchery but at least as far as I know, Trumps debauchery was at least limited to legal adults and the opposite sex, can not say that for Biden, Clinton, or Obama. Maybe Jimmie Carter was devoid of this but he was also largely ineffective as a President although he did give us the Freedom of Information Act.

We are in the process now of trying to relearn these.

Great observation

“Joe Biden — even Democrats don’t want Joe Biden to be at the top of the ticket” so they are “feeling like they have to take it upon themselves” to take down Trump ahead of time, Miller said.

There's a paradox in any complaint about the cruelty of God...

We çan accept that some amount of people will die suddenly or of disease far before their time... But it becomes impossible for people to accept that those killed by the Hebrews in war were also slated for early deaths even when these were deaths more meaningful than those of us who die young and of cancer... And all these deaths are actually authored by God.

To accept that early death can be a part of divine providence at all is to acknowledge that the deaths of those who opposed the historic Israel... For it is the case that these deaths were far more meaningful than likely most other early deaths in terms of their role in History.

It may be the case that the judgments we make of others that feed our ego and lead to pride are far more damning than the passions and greed that we fight... For those things have some very natural triggers, and it's the casual disdain for another that is like murdering them in your heart.

Teddy Roosevelt 'On American Motherhood'

An absolutely fantastic excerpt from a great essay:

There are certain old truths which will be true as long as this world endures, and which no amount of progress can alter. One of these is the truth that the primary duty of the husband is to be the home-maker, the breadwinner for his wife and children, and that the primary duty of the woman is to be the helpmate, the housewife, and mother. The woman should have ample educational advantages; but save in exceptional cases the man must be, and she need not be, and generally ought not to be, trained for a lifelong career as the family breadwinner; and, therefore, after a certain point, the training of the two must normally be different because the duties of the two are normally different. This does not mean inequality of function, but it does mean that normally there must be dissimilarity of function. On the whole, I think the duty of the woman the more important, the more difficult, and the more honorable of the two; on the whole I respect the woman who does her duty even more that I respect the man who does his.

No ordinary work done by a man is either as hard or as responsible as the work of a woman who is bringing up a family of small children; for upon her time and strength demands are made not only every hour of the day but often every hour of the night. She may have to get up night after night to take care of a sick child, and yet must by day continue to do all her household duties as well; and if the family means are scant she must usually enjoy even her rare holidays taking her whole brood of children with her. The birth pangs make all men the debtors of all women. Above all our sympathy and regard are due to the struggling wives among those whom Abraham Lincoln called the plain people, and whom he so loved and trusted; for the lives of these women are often led on the lonely heights of quiet, self-sacrificing heroism.

Just as the happiest and more honorable and most useful task that can be set any man is to earn enough for the support of his wife and family, for the bringing up and starting in life of his children, so the most important, the most honorable and desirable task which can be set any woman is to be a good and wise mother in a home marked by self-respect and mutual forbearance, by willingness to perform duty, and by refusal to sink into self-indulgence or avoid that which entails effort and self-sacrifice. Of course there are exceptional men and exceptional women who can do and ought to do much more than this, who can lead and ought to lead great careers of outside usefulness in addition to—not as substitutes for—their home work; but I am not speaking of exceptions; I am speaking of the primary duties, I am speaking of the average citizens, the average men and women who make up the nation.

...
Into the woman’s keeping is committed the destiny of the generations to come after us. In bringing up your children you mothers must remember that while it is essential to be loving and tender it is no less essential to be wise and firm. Foolishness and affection must not be treated as interchangeable terms; and besides training your sons and daughters in the softer and milder virtues, you must seek to give them those stern and hardy qualities which in after life they will surely need. Some children will go wrong in spite of the best training; and some will go right even when their surroundings are most unfortunate; nevertheless an immense amount depends upon the family training. If you mothers through weakness bring up your sons to be selfish and to think only of themselves, you will be responsible for much sadness among the women who are to be their wives in the future. If you let your daughters grow up idle, perhaps under the mistaken impression that as you yourselves have had to work hard they shall know only enjoyment, you are preparing them to be useless to others and burdens to themselves. Teach boys and girls alike that they are not to look forward to lives spent in avoiding difficulties, but to lives spent in overcoming difficulties. Teach them that work, for themselves and also for others, is not a curse but a blessing; seek to make them happy, to make them enjoy life, but seek also to make them face life with the steadfast resolution to wrest success from labor and adversity, and to do their whole duty before God and to man. Surely she who can thus train her sons and her daughters is thrice fortunate among women.

...

There are many good people who are denied the supreme blessing of children, and for these we have the respect and sympathy always due to those who, from no fault of their own, are denied any of the other great blessings of life. But the man or woman who deliberately foregoes these blessings, whether from viciousness, coldness, shallow-heartedness, self-indulgence, or mere failure to appreciate aright the difference between the all-important and the unimportant,—why, such a creature merits contempt as hearty as any visited upon the soldier who runs away in battle, or upon the man who refuses to work for the support of those dependent upon him, and who tho able-bodied is yet content to eat in idleness the bread which others provide.

The existence of women of this type forms one of the most unpleasant and unwholesome features of modern life. If any one is so dim of vision as to fail to see what a thoroughly unlovely creature such a woman is I wish they would read Judge Robert Grant’s novel “Unleavened Bread,” ponder seriously the character of Selma, and think of the fate that would surely overcome any nation which developed its average and typical woman along such lines. Unfortunately it would be untrue to say that this type exists only in American novels. That it also exists in American life is made unpleasantly evident by the statistics as to the dwindling families in some localities. It is made evident in equally sinister fashion by the census statistics as to divorce, which are fairly appalling; for easy divorce is now as it ever has been, a bane to any nation, a curse to society, a menace to the home, an incitement to married unhappiness and to immorality, an evil thing for men and a still more hideous evil for women. These unpleasant tendencies in our American life are made evident by articles such as those which I actually read not long ago in a certain paper, where a clergyman was quoted, seemingly with approval, as expressing the general American attitude when he said that the ambition of any save a very rich man should be to rear two children only, so as to give his children an opportunity “to taste a few of the good things of life.”

They certainly do not bring up these ideas in school anymore.

If You Discover Your True Self, Kill Him

Similar to if you meet the Buddha in a dream, you must kill the "true self" - this idea of being able to discover some authentic self through refinement of oneself through culture or embellishment of the self through cultural expression and soul searching is quite demonic.

It exists in service to the ego: I am a special person and when I express myself through art I am self-actualizing; all of my eccentricities and peculiarities are pedals on the rose of my soul...

You are just a person - no better or no worse than any other. The idea that you need to build up your personhood is absurd.

The study shows that 60% of requests came from authorities in the United States and Europe. However, the U.S. requested more than double the accounts per 100,000 users than all countries in the European Union combined.

Following the U.S. in the top spots are Germany, Singapore, the United Kingdom and France.

Honestly shocking to see US requests outstrip European ones.

What, exactly, is going on with the Biden administration causing them to be so curious with what we are saying?

Just wild

Youtube has deleted a popular Hungarian news channel, PS TV, sparking a major backlash in the country, including from the country’s news publishers, which are decrying the extreme censorship.

According to a statement from the Hungarian National Media Association, “It is unacceptable that a platform provider established to broadcast media content should, in breach of its own contractual terms, remove the channel of a media service provider registered in Hungary, operating in full compliance with Hungarian law and publishing content that does not violate Hungarian law, without any explanation. We assure the editorial staff of our support and urge the publisher of Pesti Srácok to use all legal remedies against global censorship and show the world that the activities of platform providers can be tolerated.”

The statement, which was signed by almost the entire Hungarian national press, was published in solidarity with PestiSrácok.hu, which ran the PS TV Youtube channel before its deletion.

PestiSrácok.hu will protest against the media giant’s decision in front of Google’s headquarters in Buda on Friday at 5:00 p.m., and later in court. The move is reminiscent of Bolshevik methods used during the occupation of Hungary. It is truly shocking that Google, the company that runs Youtube, did not even inform the editorial office of the reason for the complete deletion of the very popular public video channel.

We have to oppose these mega corporations and do our part to drive people off of them.

Fed Govt Running Interference for Transterrorism

Tucker is on point:

It seems, for example, like an awful lot of mass shooters have taken prescription psychiatric drugs in the days before they opened fire and killed others. Have you noticed that? Maybe you have noticed that. Good luck saying it in public. You'll be shouted down immediately by someone with an advanced degree.

How dare you criticize Big Pharma? What are you, a conspiracy nut? No, actually, you're not. You're someone who cares about cause and effect. You're a rational person. The only conspiracy here is the one designed to prevent you from figuring out why mass shootings keep happening.

We are, of course, never allowed to even think that in that direction.

Consider the killings that took place on Monday in Nashville. The killer was a 28-year-old female transgenderist who shot her way into a Christian elementary school and murdered three nine-year-olds and three adults. Why did she do that? In a rational country, that is the very first question we would ask. In our country, it's the last question. In fact, often it's never asked at all. On those rare occasions when somebody finally manages to wonder out loud about motive, our leaders immediately start lying, which should tell you a lot. Here's the attorney general of the United States yesterday.

So, here's what we just learned from Merrick Garland. The FBI, the ATF and the Nashville police are all investigating these shootings. Yet more than 24 hours after they took place, none of those professional investigators can even guess as to why the shootings happened. Motive hasn't been identified, Garland told us. Really? You wonder how that could possibly be.

Just before she opened fire, the Nashville shooter wrote these words to her best friend over Instagram: "One day this will make more sense. I've left behind more than enough evidence."

That evidence includes a written manifesto where the killer spells out exactly why she killed children. The FBI, the ATF, the national police, and for that matter, Merrick Garland, all have access to that manifesto. And yet, somehow the attorney general informs us that a motive has not yet been identified.

Well, he's lying. They all are lying. We can't see the manifesto because the transgender lobby, which has far more power than you do, has pressured politicians to keep it hidden, but we can be certain what it says. Monday's victims were murdered because they were Christians. It's that simple.

They're literally running interference for a mass murderer - they are trying to safeguard their biases.

Indian-American Abortion Enthusiast Nabbed by Burrito

Tough luck

On March 1, authorities saw Roychowdhury stop the Toyota in a park-and-ride lot. After stepping out of the car, he threw away a brown bag containing a “partially eaten burrito wrapped in waxed paper.” DNA swabs on the burrito were sent to labs. On March 17, forensic biologists confirmed that the DNA matched that of the male from the Wisconsin Family Action crime scene, authorities said.

DeSantis Operating Like Mob Boss

More luddite posting:

If you’re waiting for a text or email back from Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, don’t hold your breath: The governor, at least in his official capacity, doesn’t text or email, according to two people familiar with his operation.

In place of digital communication, DeSantis communicates exclusively with face-to-face meetings or calls. If he wants to schedule such a meeting, he’ll pick up the phone or have his team help organize it. The governor’s office confirmed DeSantis’s aversion to (now) traditional means of communicating, telling Semafor that he prefers in-person conversations because the topics discussed are often nuanced and detailed.

DeSantis’s preferred method for communicating effectively narrows his already tight inner circle and has helped ensure that his administration almost never leaks.

He’s far from the only Florida governor to have tailored their administration’s approach to dealing with its transparency laws. DeSantis’ predecessor, Sen. Rick Scott, implemented a no-texting rule during his time as governor. His chief spokeswoman at the time told The Times/Herald, which had requested a host of text messages from his office in 2016, that they discouraged “the use of text messaging (for) state business by employees because text messages are hard to catalog due to the digital nature of the message.”

Honestly, working a second job is a terrific measure for how bad the economy is.

It becomes a little tricky when we are talking about the potential of people just doing things like driving a single Uber Eats order on the way home or some such, which might just be an interesting way to earn your gas money back for the day.

To what extent this is the case, I am unsure.

Forty-four percent of Americans work a second job, a 13 percent increase relative to the Trump administration, a LendingClub report revealed Tuesday.

The recent increase under President Joe Biden is highlighted by a survey from FlexJobs, which found 69 percent of employed professionals either have a side job or want one.

The desire to work longer hours at a second job comes as Biden’s 40-year-high inflation cost American households an extra $5,200 in 2022 or $433 per month on average, according to Bloomberg.

Your actual income basically disappearing by more than a single average paycheck over the course of the year... in just a year of inflation.

Dumbphoning

Call me a Philistine but it is hard to actually imagine myself giving up the ability to play chess on my long commutes.

However, I certainly admire these people.

He hasn’t forsaken the internet entirely however: Briones helps moderate a Reddit forum devoted to so-called dumbphones, which had 17,000 thousand “enthusiasts” as members as of Monday.

“People who want to regain their time and attention, and have a deeper more purposeful life, I think that is who this message is resonating with,” Briones told AFP.

Dumbphones, also referred to as feature phones, are essentially throw-back handsets without big screens and a mountain of apps.

They are reminiscent of the pre-iPhone era when mobile phones allowed users to call another line, an astounding breakthrough made when the first mobile phone call was dialed on April 3, 1973 — 50 years ago.

I can imagine myself only doing something like this if I lived in the US and was driving everywhere, or showing up at that place and being engaged... I Guess I can also imagine doing this if I were to absolutely normalize reading on my commute in the very old fashioned style: with a physical book.

Forgiveness + Crime

Most extreme violence originates in mental illness coupled with child abuse. Rarely, it's pure mental illness. Rarest of all, it's a seemingly mentally well person from a decent background who has chosen to be agents of Evil for no discernible reason: this is profoundly disturbing, and so alienating from God that these people are the most pitiable of the bunch... They do deserve punishment, and I am completely confident that it is coming in the next life if not this one, and so I will forgive and pray that there is a single iota of goodness in them that outshines the darkness for their mother's sake...

The way I see it is that...

- People suffer mental breaks and make terrible decisions but this does not need to make me vengeful.
- We alienate mentally unwell people and fail to treat them fairly, so we are part of the problem.

Obviously, the man who cheats on his spouse, like the man who shoots up a school, made those final extreme decisions themselves... But we also do create circumstances that drive people toward their worst case scenarios. I am not suggesting they do not go to jail, so don't get mad when I suggest that you should feel guilty for bullying the mentally unwell or withholding kindness from them. Some of these people are coming completely undone and needed a more robust support network.

Anger is emotional and serves no purpose... And we should not politicize these events... Even when they are explicitly political.

At the heart of extreme violence done by an individual is illness and abuse, sometimes personal evil. None of this is political.

@Nanook I would never be against self-defense or even taking preemptive action to address a threat, but doing so in anger is unnecessary.

I think it is the case that we will always be susceptible to flashes of anger, but to maintain such an attitude in the long run is unhealthy.

Nanook friendica
@J. Løvstuhagen Anger is a response that prepares our bodies to fight, it is there for a good reason. And there are things you SHOULD be angry at, like the continued false flag operations killing our children in an attempt to control us better by taking our guns. Anger is also motivational, and there are places where this motivation is correct.

Repressive Tolerance

This excerpt is pretty shocking - from Herbert Marcuse's Wikipedia page:

Many radical scholars and activists were influenced by Marcuse, such as Norman O. Brown,[30] Angela Davis,[31] Charles J. Moore, Abbie Hoffman, Rudi Dutschke, and Robert M. Young (see the List of Scholars and Activists link below). Among those who critiqued him from the left were Marxist-humanist Raya Dunayevskaya, fellow German emigre Paul Mattick, both of whom subjected One-Dimensional Man to a Marxist critique, and Noam Chomsky, who knew and liked Marcuse "but thought very little of his work."[32] Marcuse's 1965 essay "Repressive Tolerance", in which he claimed capitalist democracies can have totalitarian aspects, has been criticized by conservatives.[33][unreliable source?] Marcuse argues that genuine tolerance does not permit support for "repression", since doing so ensures that marginalized voices will remain unheard. He characterizes tolerance of repressive speech as "inauthentic". Instead, he advocates a form of tolerance that is intolerant of repressive (namely right-wing) political movements:

Liberating tolerance, then, would mean intolerance against movements from the Right and toleration of movements from the Left. Surely, no government can be expected to foster its own subversion, but in a democracy such a right is vested in the people (i.e. in the majority of the people). This means that the ways should not be blocked on which a subversive majority could develop, and if they are blocked by organized repression and indoctrination, their reopening may require apparently undemocratic means. They would include the withdrawal of toleration of speech and assembly from groups and movements that promote aggressive policies, armament, chauvinism, discrimination on the grounds of race and religion, or that oppose the extension of public services, social security, medical care, etc.[34]

Kanye Not The Most Reliable Pop Intellectual After All

This changed pretty quickly...

After a number of increasingly extreme antisemitic rants last year, Kanye West has declared that he’s alright again with Jews after watching a movie with Jonah Hill.

In an Instagram post Saturday, the rapper shared a promotional poster for “21 Jump Street,” a 2012 crime comedy in which the Jewish actor costarred alongside Channing Tatum.

“Watching Jonah Hill in 21 Jump street made me like Jewish people again,” Ye wrote. “No one should take anger against one or two individuals and transform that into hatred towards millions of innocent people.”

... And for very well thought out reasons, of course!

I was kind of big on Kanye West taking it to his opponents and against the established elites who control American foreign policy and have such an undue influence on Western culture...

And it all ends with that..?!

Some more on this:

“No Christian can be labeled antisemite knowing Jesus is Jew,” Ye added.

The post was Ye’s first on social media this year, after losing access to his accounts over his antisemitic tirades, including an appearance on far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’s podcast during which he praised Adolf Hitler and described himself as a Nazi.

Not entirely wrong - sure. We cannot hate people. We also have to be aware that Jesus Christ was an actual Hebrew - not a Jew, but an ethnic Hebrew who had authentic Judaism as a part of his heritage.

But he renounces the Talmudism and completely universalizes the God of Israel, as was predicted in Malachi, and Judaism as we know it actually draws to an end and becomes embodied in the universal faith of Jesus- Christ.

There are no more Hebrews. Hebrew descent people? Sure. But the religion of the Hebrews has ceased to exist as how the Hebrews had practiced it, and it now exists only in the practice of Christianity which alone recognizes the Old Testament in light of the teachings of the Messiah.

Love when they catch them lying.

Senator Rand Paul: Is there a higher interest or a higher incidence of myocarditis among adolescent males 16 to 24 after taking your vaccine?

Stephanie Bancel: So thank you for the questions. First, let me say we care deeply about safety and we are working closely with the CDC and the FDA to.

Sen. Paul: That’s pretty much a yes or no. Is there a higher incidence of myocarditis among boys 16 to 24 after they take your vaccine?

Bancel: The data I’ve seen sorry, from the CDC actually shown that there’s less myocarditis, for people who get the vaccine versus those who get COVID infection.

Sen. Paul: You’re saying that for ages 16 to 24 among males who take the COVID vaccine, their risk of myocarditis is less than people who get the disease?

Bancel: That is my understanding.

Sen. Paul: That is not true. And I’d like to enter into the record six peer-reviewed papers from the Journal of Vaccine, the Annals of Medicine that say the complete opposite of what you said. I also spoke with your president just last week and he readily acknowledged in private that, yes, there is an increased risk of myocarditis. The fact that you can’t say it in public is quite disturbing. Do you think it’s scientifically sound to mandate three vaccines for adolescent boys?

Bancel: This is for the public health leaders to decide.

Yeah this is a bit out of control...

Nearly half of Britons believe they have been a victim of ‘sonic snooping’ – where ads for a product pop up on your phone screen soon after talking about it or seeing it on TV.

Cybersecurity specialists NordVPN have now said this phenomenon really is happening, thanks to apps listening in to background noise – and potentially private conversations too.

They said a phone’s microphone may be constantly picking up clues as to where someone is, what they are doing and what they are interested in.

But it's also so normalized at this point.

I do not even fear these things anymore.

I guess we live in a world where the USA really does have to put in the work to be the best in international baseball - so be it.

It's a more exciting place to live now.

Klonkie

Initially, I heard that a klonkie was a black playmate for a white kid in South Africa. Each kid would often have a black playmate growing up who was a child of one of the servants, and they would be somewhat inseparable, but as they grew up, they would grow apart from one another.

The Dictionary of South African English, though, says:

Patriotic Alternative, a pro-White activist organisation, was immediately framed for the Kirkby arson by anti-White journalists and activists, leading to calls in parliament for them to be removed from social media. Days after they were suddenly de-platformed from Twitter.

We take a closer look at the curious events surrounding the Kirkby protest and examine the many questions arising from this story.

Squeezing Money from Alex Jones

Just wild:

Earlier this month, Free Speech Systems proposed a bankruptcy plan that would pay an annual salary of $520,000 to Jones and leave $7 million to $10 million to annually pay creditors, including the victims’ families.

This is all really wild, IMO.

The guy is being milked. Basically everything he does from now on will largely benefit people he is completely disconnected from, and who were not actually negatively impacted by his work.

It's a travesty.

@Nanook Absolutely true - I am not even a big Alex jones fan and do not even think that he poses a particular threat on the topic of Sandy Hook especially, but he takes people off of the media reservations, and his work concerning signaling against the vaxx is great.

I have switched from Brave to LibreWolf as my prime browser...

I was kind of sick of there being an adblocker that then subsequently gave me all of these crypto add popups and such.

More importantly, though, was that Brave search itself was providing terrible results and they tended to align with what the leftists culture wars wanted. For instance, they persistently put the link to the ADL when you searched for E. Michael Jones.

However, DuckDuckGo, while even stating that they were a bit aligned with the Ukrainians apparently (?), does not even do this.

So, seeing the trajectory of the company and being annoyed by the ads, I have switched over to LibreWolf.

Of course, I do compartmentalize. So, I use Google Chrome and even Edge for a few sites because they are clean, uninteresting places to visit and I like to have those windows available to me at work with a simple click.

That Will Not Shock the World

It’s being reported that #DonaldTrump will be arrested next week.

Fox News reports that New York City D.A. Alvin Bragg is preparing to arrest Donald Trump complete with fingerprinting and “normal processing” all under a felony charge federal prosecutors refused to pursue.

That won’t shock anyone. What would shock everyone at this point is if #HillaryClinton or #JoeBiden were arrested. Wait, strike that, it would be even more shocking if #VladimirPutin were arrested on the basis of the #ICC warrant.

But it’s no wonder they’re suddenly determined to try to shut him up, as if that were possible. If only he’d been perceptive enough, and courageous enough, to speak like this in 2016.

“There must also be a complete commitment to dismantling the entire #globalist #neo-con #establishment that is perpetually dragging us into #endless #wars, pretending to fight for #freedom and #democracy abroad, while they turn us into a third-world country and a third-world #dictatorship right here at home,” Trump said. “The State Department, the defense bureaucracy, the intelligence services, and all the rest need to be completely overhauled and reconstituted to fire the Deep Staters and put America First. The greatest #threat to #WesternCivilization today is not #Russia. It’s probably, more than anything else, ourselves and some of the horrible, USA-hating people that represent us. It’s the abolition of our national borders. It’s the failure to police our own cities. It’s the destruction of the rule of law from within.”

That’s getting pretty… specific. But if you read between the lines, it’s very clear that #PresidentTrump is now fully aware that the #USA is ruled by an #imperialist #foreign #elite that does not have #American interests at heart.

I have witnessed this a lot when I lived in the mountains. Always thought it was particular to that place, but now there is one right here.

Very hard to capture on camera,,, had to turn up the colour to the max.. of course in real life this is absolutely spectacular. But here is a faint image to share..

US Officials Say 100k Ukrainian Soldiers Died

Real numbers are starting to come out.

Russia has spent months pummeling the country with missiles, seeking not only to cause destruction but also deplete Ukraine’s air defense stocks. Ukrainian soldiers have described acute shortages of basic ammunition, including mortar rounds and artillery shells. And upwards of 100,000 Ukrainian forces have died in the year-long war, U.S. officials estimate, including the most experienced soldiers.

They're ready to wind this down, I think.

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about three million people in the United States currently acquire antibiotic-resistant infections each year, causing over 35,000 deaths annually.
Overuse and misuse of antibiotics have contributed to the development of antibiotic resistance. This includes using antibiotics when they are not needed, such as for viral infections like the common cold, and failing to complete a full course of antibiotics as prescribed.

In addition, the use of antibiotics in livestock and agriculture can also contribute to the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

One of the most concerning antibiotic-resistant infections is Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), a type of bacteria that is resistant to many commonly used antibiotics.

MRSA infections can range from mild skin infections to life-threatening bloodstream infections and are especially common in health care settings.

Another example is carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE), which is a group of bacteria that is resistant to some of the strongest antibiotics available.

“Early on, 40 or 50 years ago, as antibiotics started to be used and resistances accumulated, the pharmaceutical drug industry was able to discover, and/or create new antibiotics,” said Dr. William Schaffner, professor of preventive medicine in the Department of Health Policy, and professor of medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

“So we were able to ‘stay ahead’ of antibiotic resistance because we always had a new antibiotic that we could pull off the proverbial shelf and use,” he continued.

In those early days of drug development, the “easy” antibiotics were discovered, but we’re in a difficult situation now, and advances have slowed.

“So we can’t just research our way out of a problem by creating new antibiotics,” said Schaffner. “Therefore, our options for appropriate therapy become diminished.”

No end in sight.

#Antidepressants cause more antibiotic-resistance than antibiotics. #Sluts are killing those people.

Cruz Calling Out Big Tech

Absolutely we need to get to the bottom of this and sort the media out.

It's good to see that Cruz is still running with this issue:

Cruz sent four letters to the chief officers of TikTok, Meta, Twitter, and Google asking for information about their platforms’ algorithms.
...
“As you are well aware, social media companies rely on algorithms to not only moderate content, but also to surface personalized recommendations to users,” Cruz said.

He emphasized the ways these algorithms play a tangible role in politics, noting that “Recommendation systems play an increasingly ubiquitous role in selecting content for individual consumption, including by promoting some content, using product design elements to prominently display recommendations, and downranking or filtering disfavored content and accounts.”

Later in the letters, Cruz wrote, “In a world where seven out of ten Americans receive their political news from social media, the manner in which content is filtered through recommendation systems has an undeniable effect on what Americans see, think, and ultimately believe.”

“At their best,” Cruz added, “recommendations help users discover interesting or relevant content that they might not otherwise find on a platform.”
...
But at their worst, Cruz said, these algorithms can be a recipe for addiction and a pipeline to obscene or harmful material, or can be redirected for partisan ends.

“[R]ecommendation systems can also fuel platform addiction by feeding users an essentially infinite stream of content,” Cruz said, adding that these algorithms “can be especially dangerous when recommendations make it easier for vulnerable users, especially teenagers, to find objectively harmful content, such as content that promotes eating disorders and self-harm.”

All of this is true and I sincerely hope that he is invested in bringing big tech to heel.

... But we cannot count the number of times that we have been disappointed by politicians, can we ?

Tucker Calls Out the Media

Absolute hero tier:

Tucker: So when you, look at me and say, "Yeah, of course [the media] is part of the means of control." That's obvious to you because you're 28, but I just didn't see it at all -- at all. And I'm ashamed of that.

PODCAST HOST: Isn't that what the media tries to do though?

TUCKER CARLSON: It's their only purpose. They're not here to inform you! Really? Even on the big things that really matter like the economy and the war and Covid, things that really matter and will effect you, no. Their job is not to inform you, they're working for the small group of people who actually run the world. They're their servants, they're the Praetorian Guard. And we should treat them with maximum contempt because they have earned it.

Stand behind this man.

US Spy Stabbed in U K

Honestly this detail makes it really interesting:

According to local residents interviewed by the Daily Mail, the woman and her attacker were inside the car, arguing, before the stabbing.

Hersh Speculates US Could Be Contemplating Entering the Conflict

He's rightfully concerned:

The US could get directly involved in the Ukraine conflict if it sees that Kiev’s forces are on the back foot, Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Seymour Hersh suggested on Tuesday.

Speaking at an event in Washington, DC hosted by the Committee for the Republic, a non-profit organization, Hersh noted that the US “did stupid things” during the Vietnam War, and suggested that Washington could “start doing something else” in the Ukraine conflict.

“I don’t know what happens if it goes bad for Ukraine, you have all this manpower,” he said, pointing out that the US has dispatched units of its 82nd and 101st elite airborne divisions close to the Ukrainian border, while “a lot of weapons and arms are coming” to Europe.

Even further interesting observations from Hersh:

According to Hersh, “the big deal” is that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to come to an agreement with the Ukrainian government. “The deal is demilitarize, and it’s going to be a no-go for us,” the journalist said, adding that the Russian leader “has not put in his main force yet” in the conflict.

Summing up the Ukraine conflict, Hersh argued that “we just may be kidding ourselves what’s going on there and what the results are going to be”.

He recalled the battle of Stalingrad during WWII, when Soviet troops suffered heavy losses but still emerged victorious. “Come on. Do we really want to mix up with those guys? I don’t think so,” the journalist added.

Russia likes to fight things at a slow pace and likes to be very careful with how it engages... It moves at its own speed.

I don't fully understand it myself, I have never pretended to be some expert in military afafirs. Let me further point out that I generally think it is the case that the experts in these affairs are often no better informed than any of us.

Nonetheless, we must be very weary of what our moron leaders will do in the West.

Stop Sinning, Start Winning

Oh brother...

“We are the f**king coolest private army in the world. We are recruiting fighters from all regions of Russia. Don’t w**ck off – go work for PMC Wagner,” the Russian-language ad says, before a phone number appears on screen.

LOL, what...

Asked about the salacious promo video, Wagner Group’s head Evgeny Prigozhin later confirmed that the ad was genuine.

“...advertising PMC Wagner on porn sites is a very good idea of our marketers,” he said as cited by his press service. “I absolutely completely agree with them, and this advertisement says: ‘Go to fight in the Wagner PMC, stop j**king off.’ Who disagrees with this argument?”

We can at least agree that fighting for Wagner is cooler than wacking off.

2024 Campaign Already Turns Ugly

Hard to imagine the next election going off smoothly. Already the intra-party fighting is wild.

Trump may also have a point here:

“Governor DeSantis’s failure to declare his candidacy is no mere oversight; it is a coordinated effort specifically designed for him to accept, as unethical gifts, illegal campaign contributions and certain personal benefits that are necessarily intended to influence,” it declares, providing what it describes as evidence of these claims.

The gloves are really off:

A press release from Make American Great Again Inc. states that DeSantis should be held accountable, removed from office, and disqualified from “any future ballot in the State of Florida” if the commission finds these alleged violations to be legitimate.

“The Make America Great Again movement was birthed to stop career politicians who use public service to amass personal wealth and power,” the pro-Trump PAC said in a statement.

Second Gentleman Thinks You Killed His Ancestors for Questioning Trans Agenda

Oh, look, another Ashkenazi telling us all that our opinions are like murder to him if we question the trans agenda they are forcing on kids.

Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff compared the “hate” at public school board meetings Wednesday to that which motivated the Holocaust, in which the Nazis exterminated six million Jews and millions of other people.

"Second gentleman," of course, is a hilarious title.

This hate is interconnected. You see it in the discourse in the country right now. You see it in the divide that we have, in the, just going to school [board] meeting[s] — you see that hate that is out there, we’ve got to step up, and speak out, and we’ve got to call out the cowards out there, people — as my wife would say, these “so-called leaders.”

By call out the cowards he is talking about enlisting conservatives to police all of the people on the rigt...

"Settle down, guys! We're going to be called Holocausters!"

Nanook friendica
@J. Løvstuhagen Got me confused with someone else unless you've just misconstrued my statement that Askhanazi's seem to all possess the psychopath gene, but psychopathy and psychosis are two entirely different things, the former indicating an inability to have empathy, the latter a disconnect with reality, and I guess though I didn't say it, that does appear to be the case.

I thought that a psychotic and a psychopath were the same.

My bad.

Bailout Blues

Yeah, nothing about this is completely ridiculous.

Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), whose collapse last week has triggered a global banking crisis, donated over $73 million to the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement — but found itself unable to pay depositors in a cash crunch.

Also cue the posts where they point out that the new board is primarily made up of women (though I am not 100% sure this is completely true).

Some other good factoids:

“As a point of reference, $82.9 billion is more than the GDP of 46 African countries. In 2022, the Ford Motor Company’s profits were $23 billion,” they also noted. The sum of $82.9 million includes “more than $123 million to the BLM parent organizations directly,” as well as much more to other organizations supporting BLM’s agenda.

The Search for the Drone

Naturally, #Russia is on the move and is not going to let the drone go to waste.

The U.S. Reaper drone that crashed in the Black Sea Tuesday will be recovered and studied, a Russian spy chief claims, as the two countries tousle over how exactly the unmanned aircraft was brought down.

An MQ-9 Reaper attack-reconnaissance drone crashed into the Black Sea on Tuesday morning, prompting the United States Air Force (USAF) to accuse Russia of having acted in an “environmentally unsound” manner by dumping aviation fuel onto the drone before striking its propeller, causing it to lose power and crash. Russia for their part denied having come into contact with the drone, stating it crashed by itself without their help.

It is actually quite unimportant what the truth of the matter is.

What will really be interesting is if the Russians recover it and hand it over to the Iranians for reverse engineering.

These guys are going to always exist on the right - there will always be some collection of people who cuck to these issues and they will be lauded as great examples of what you good conservatives are capable of doing.

They want people to think that Charlie Kirk is an extremist who barely is within the bounds of legally acceptable speech (lol) because they want carte blanche to jail people like us.

Really sad & epic history here:

In the 1860s the Peruvian slave raids began, as Peruvians were experiencing labor shortages and came to regard the Pacific as a vast source of free labor. Slavers raided islands as far away as Micronesia, but Rapa Nui was much closer and became a prime target.

In December 1862 eight Peruvian ships landed their crewmen and between bribery and outright violence they captured some 1,000 Rapanui, including the king, his son, and the ritual priests (one of the reasons for so many gaps in knowledge of the ancient ways). It has been estimated that 2,000 Rapanui were captured over a period of years. Those who survived to arrive in Peru were poorly treated, overworked, and exposed to diseases. Ninety percent of the Rapa Nui died within one or two years of capture.

Eventually the Bishop of Tahiti caused a public outcry and an embarrassed Peru rounded up the few survivors to return them. A shipload headed to Rapa Nui, but smallpox broke out en route and only 15 arrived at the island. They were put ashore. The resulting smallpox epidemic nearly wiped out the remaining population.

In the aftermath of the Peruvian slave deportations in the 1860s, Rapa Nui came under extensive outside influence from neighbouring Polynesian languages such as Tahitian. While the majority of the population that was taken to work as slaves in the Peruvian mines died of diseases and bad treatment in the 1860s, hundreds of other Islanders who left for Mangareva in the 1870s and 1880s to work as servants or labourers adopted the local form of Tahitian-Pidgin. Fischer argues that this pidgin became the basis for the modern Rapa Nui language when the surviving part of the Rapa Nui immigrants on Mangareva returned to their almost deserted home island.

LOL - these guys got a lot of sticks in the fire.

The Maison Brander owned a large sheep ranch on Easter Island for exporting wool. The ranch was managed by the power-hungry convicted murderer Jean-Baptiste Dutrou-Bornier, who had acquired additional land and appointed his Rapanui wife "Queen". This was the low point in the island's history; by 1872 its resident population had been reduced to 111.

In 1871 Alexander Jr had picked up rudimentary Rapanui from his hundreds of indentured Easter Island labourers at the Mahina coconut plantation on Tahiti. In 1877 Queen Pōmare IV died, and Alexander's sister became regent. John Brander also died that year, and Dutrou-Bornier was assassinated. Alexander set off for Easter Island to manage the sheep station in around October 1878 with twenty Tahitian workers and an unknown number of Rapanui whose indentures had expired and ran the island for a decade. He introduced the coconut, the first sizeable tree on the island since its deforestation two centuries earlier, apart from some fruit trees at the SSCC Catholic mission and Dutrou-Bornier's estate.

Salmon returned to Tahiti in 1883–1884 for business. Upon his return to Easter Island he bought up all remaining land apart from the SSCC mission at Hanga Roa. As owner of nearly all the island and sole source of employment, Salmon was de facto ruler.

As he was not a religious man, and a Jew, the priests did not like him, especially Hippolyte Roussel, who had been forced to leave the island in 1871 due to conflict with Dutrou-Bornier but who visited again in 1879. Bishop Jaussen in Tahiti appointed a Rapanui, Atamu te Kena, "king" to protect church interests from the Maison Brander, but Salmon ignored him and he never had any influence. However, Salmon was an honest man and sincerely interested in the welfare of the people, and the population started to recover. This was the era of the strong Tahitian influence on the Rapanui language and culture.

Of course the Wikipedia article talks about this guy as some humanitarian... He has the magick ethnicity modifier that excuses him from colonialism.

The story is that the Russians did something wrong here... For engaging the $35 million dollar drone of a country that has invested billions in killing their soldiers during their war.

But lol... It does get better.

“To my knowledge, at this point in time, the Russians have not recovered that aircraft,” Gen Ryder said on Tuesday afternoon.

Also note that the Americans haven't recovered it either.

Oh yes, of course I realized the sarcasm there...

I also understand how, in the long-term, isolationism may not be the best policy decision, especially not for every country.

Yet, in the case of the US, it would make sense to try to fix the damage we have done throughout the world by disengaging.

Nanook friendica
@J. Løvstuhagen If we disengage it might be good for the world but it will be the end of this country. And frankly it may not even be good for the world. We need to engage but in an ethical manner. How we get ethics into government though, that's a tough one.

The protests were initially triggered by a bill ‘On the Transparency of Foreign Influence’, which was adopted by the Georgian parliament on its first reading. On Tuesday, 76 deputies voted in favor of adopting the bill and 13 deputies opposed it.

During the discussion stage, MPs from opposition parties said they would not allow the so-called “Russian law” to be considered in parliament. This resulted in a fight between opponents and supporters of the legislation. Deputies from the National Movement and Strategy Aghmashenebeli opposition parties were expelled from the chamber. Triggered by the situation, the latter’s leader Giorgi Vashadze called on all opponents of the bill to join the rally.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Georgian Interior Ministry reported that 50 law enforcement officers had been injured in clashes with protesters. Calls from the police to “stay within the bounds of the law” did not work.

... and they absolutely have threatened revolution:

Talk of such legislation first emerged last summer. Back then, several influential Western-funded NGOs immediately understood the existential nature of the possible measure. They announced the formation of a “temporary technical government” and presented the authorities with an ultimatum, threatening them with a “peaceful revolution” if they refused.

... and remember, these people are absolutely inundated with NGOs:

In a review of the Georgian civil sector published in 2020, the Asian Development Bank indicated that there is no special legislation on non-profit or non-governmental organizations in the country, although they are listed in the general register of companies, which as of the beginning of 2019 consisted of 12,800 organizations. At the same time, the vast majority of such organizations rely on foreign funding, according to the Georgian national statistics service Sakstat. As of spring 2022, there were 7,972 companies with foreign founders operating in the country. With a total population of 3.7 million, there are around 460 people per foreign NPO in Georgia. For comparison, as of November 2022, there were over 500 active “foreign agents” registered in the US, under FARA.

This is all from the Washington Post who normally does everything that they can to back up the broken #Ukraine narrative:

DNIPROPETROVSK REGION, Ukraine — The quality of Ukraine’s military force, once considered a substantial advantage over Russia, has been degraded by a year of casualties that have taken many of the most experienced fighters off the battlefield, leading some Ukrainian officials to question Kyiv’s readiness to mount a much-anticipated spring offensive.

U.S. and European officials have estimated that as many as 120,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed or wounded since the start of Russia’s invasion early last year, compared with about 200,000 on the Russian side, which has a much larger military and roughly triple the population from which to draw conscripts. Ukraine keeps its running casualty numbers secret, even from its staunchest Western supporters.

I actually do not endorse the numbers that the US/EU officials are putting forward here, with a 1.2 to 2 ratio that favors the Ukrainians. I think that even when they are trying to be honest about painting the dismal picture, they will still lie to us. I would be surprised if the ratio is anywhere near favorable to the Ukrainians -- I would be ecstatic if I was a Hohol to hear that the ratio is even 1:1.

Statistics aside, an influx of inexperienced draftees, brought in to plug the losses, has changed the profile of the Ukrainian force, which is also suffering from basic shortages of ammunition, including artillery shells and mortar bombs, according to military personnel in the field.

...

“And there are only a few soldiers with combat experience,” Kupol added. “Unfortunately, they are all already dead or wounded.”

For some even tastier tears:

Such grim assessments have spread a palpable, if mostly unspoken, pessimism from the front lines to the corridors of power in Kyiv, the capital. An inability by Ukraine to execute a much-hyped counteroffensive would fuel new criticism that the United States and its European allies waited too long, until the force had already deteriorated, to deepen training programs and provide armored fighting vehicles, including Bradleys and Leopard battle tanks.

It's interesting to think that even the experts here posit that the great opportunity for the Ukraine was to win with a strong counteroffensive... But no such counteroffensvie could ever exist meaningfully against the Russians who predictably just brought to bear their far superior numbers.

From this point there are some funny statements in the article - for instance, the idea that Russia is experiencing WWI levels of casualties, but you still get glimpses of the real picture behind the paragraphs inserted to shore up the pro-Kiev narrative:

Ukraine has also faced an acute shortage of artillery shells, which Washington and its allies have scrambled to address, with discussions about how to shore up Ukrainian stocks dominating daily meetings on the war at the White House National Security Council. Washington’s efforts have kept Ukraine fighting, but use rates are very high, and scarcity persists.

“You’re on the front line,” Kupol said. “They’re coming toward you, and there’s nothing to shoot with.”

This is normally something that they would ever publish about Russia.

There might be real change on the horizon for the US policy towards the Ukraine - the state media apparatus is warming people up to the idea of cutting their losses and moving on.

The West is a joke - they are democratic societies that are supposed to be based on the marketplace of ideas...

Yet you cannot say a single thing that criticizes their sacred cows.

Ravier faces trial tomorrow in the criminal court of Marseilles on charges of incitement to discrimination, hatred, or violence. The case is based on a tweet, on January 11, 2022, in which Ravier reacted to the murder of a teen in Paris by a 62-year-old man from Senegal.

He tweeted “Theo, 18 years old, murdered yesterday by a Senegalese [migrant]… Immigration kills the youth of France.”

A complaint was filed by the International League against Racism and Anti-Semitism (Licra) and the League for Human Rights (LDH) against Ravier over allegations of spreading hatred toward migrants.

Pope Francis On Gender Ideology

Absolutely wonderful to see the Pope actually stand up for Christianity for once:

Pope Francis condemned transgender ideology in a recent interview, declaring that it is “one of the most dangerous ideological colonizations.”

The pontiff, who was born and raised in Argentina, spoke with the Argentine newspaper La Nacion last week, in advance of his 10th anniversary of assuming the papacy.

When asked if he “had been asked to write a document on the subject of gender,” Francis responded that while “no one” had requested that he create such a document, people always seek “clarifications” on the Catholic Church’s views on the matter.

The term "gender ideology" is often defined as a set of beliefs that characterizes gender as a social construct, not based on one's biological sex, and rejects the gender binary of male and female. It is often associated with the LGBT movement.

I think a lot of people have become confused with what the Catholic church really means because they tend to emphasize his statements when he is engaging with pastoral care.

“I always distinguish between what pastoral care is for people who have a different sexual orientation and what gender ideology is,” he said. “They are two different things. Gender ideology, at this time, is one of the most dangerous ideological colonizations.”

Great further clarification:

Francis said he views gender ideology as “dangerous,” lamenting that “it dilutes differences” between men and women. He described “the tension of differences” as “the richness of men and women and all of humanity” and stressed that “growing through the tension of differences” constitutes an important part of humanity.

They've been there for over a thousand years and suddenly it now has to all come to an end...

And who is ultimately ordering it?

A government led by a Jew.

Last Friday, Ukrainian officials told the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to vacate the 980-year-old Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra monastery complex in the embattled nation's capital, according to Reuters.

The denomination has been given until March 29 to obey the order. Although the UOC has historical ties to the Russian Orthodox Church, it severed its ties with the Moscow patriarchate last year in response to the Russian invasion.

In a statement, the Ukrainian culture ministry claimed that UOC "violated the terms of the agreement regarding the use of state property" but didn't say how. The UOC contends it is a victim of a political witch hunt.

There's no rule of law in the Ukraine - don't hold your breath waiting for them to provide the rationale.

That's the point, Jews get criticized for owning all the banks, media, big pharma, and now lots of food production, committing genocide against the Palestinians, but what most people don't realize is that 97% of Israel's population isn't Jewish, it's Ashkanazi, and virtually all of their leaders are Askhanazi, and it is the Ashkanazi's that seem to be universally psychopathic and have this insatiable greed for money and power. If Hitler had made this distinction we wouldn't be fucked today. It is important now that they are trying to hard to eliminate us, via the WEF, via the Ukraine, that we make the proper distinction and eliminate them.

@J. Løvstuhagen Also, it is my basic belief that if you have a highly polarized situation, which in the world today we most certainly do, when you stop talking about it, that's when you start fighting and killing over it, so I believe censoring things like this is at best counterproductive.

This is a fabulous observation -- I really appreciate both the background here, and your comment...

I have very far right ideas, but I am also inclined to pacifism because Christ commands this of me... I believe that we are all made in the image of Christ, and while some people will inevitably choose to be ignorant, we can have hope for them since they are made as rational beings with the capacity to change...

I just don't believe in winning by violence since it is also the case that people are getting what they deserve from their own poor choices, and so it is a sort of fate by God...

Free speech is an important part of all this because it enables us to set the right courses for social change... and, if people don't want that, they will be punished by their own stupidity and anger.

India still going to bat for marriage sanity:

New Delhi: Same-sex marriage is against the “Indian notion of marriage” that “necessarily and inevitably presupposes a union” between a biological man and a biological woman only.
